Barack Obama’s broken promise that all Americans would be able to keep their health care plans after the implementation of the Affordable Care Act has infuriated people who took the President at his word and rattled even his staunchest supporters.

But for the President, the real political pain may only be starting. Come 2014, the rest of the country may learn that another high-profile pledge was untrue. “No matter how we reform health care,” Obama said in 2009, “we will keep this promise: if you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period.”

It’s not that simple. In order to participate in health-insurance exchanges, insurers needed to find a way to tamp down the high costs of premiums. As a result, many will narrow their networks, shrinking the range of doctors that are available to patients under their plan, experts say.

“Many people are going to find out that the second part of the promise — that if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor — just wasn’t true,” says Gail Wilensky, who directed the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs under President George H.W. Bush. Factcheck.org labeled the promise “misleading,” noting that while the law doesn’t contain provisions designed to force people to pick new doctors, a switch may be inevitable for some. “The President simply can’t make this promise to anyone,” the site wrote.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Welcome to the Unaffordable Abuse Act.
No one that voted for it, read it.
The bill had to be passed to find out what is in it.
Back room deals.
Rammed through in the dark of night.
If you like your doctor and your healthcare you can't keep it.
Paying for birth control.
Dial 1 800 FUCKYO.
Costs skyrocketing.
Crappy, hackable, obamascam website.
Idiot obama bots waking up and realizing obamacare isn't free.

Insurers restricting choice of doctors and hospitals to keep costs down

As Americans have begun shopping for health plans on the insurance exchanges, they are discovering that insurers are restricting their choice of doctors and hospitals in order to keep costs low, and that many of the plans exclude top-rated hospitals.

The Obama administration made it a priority to keep down the cost of insurance on the exchanges, the online marketplaces that are central to the Affordable Care Act. But one way that insurers have been able to offer lower rates is by creating networks that are far smaller than what most Americans are accustomed to.

The decisions have provoked a backlash. In one closely watched case, Seattle Children’s Hospital has filed suit against Washington’s insurance commissioner after a number of insurers kept it out of their provider networks. “It is unprecedented in our market to have major insurance plans exclude Seattle Children’s,” said Sandy Melzer, senior vice president.

The result, some argue, is a two-tier system of health care: Many of the people who buy health plans on the exchanges have fewer hospitals and doctors to choose from than those with coverage through their employers.

From the article posted by 3333:
As of this week, not one of the plans for sale on New York’s health benefit exchange would cover treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, one of the world’s largest and most respected cancer hospitals.

That could mean that the 615,000 individuals and 450,000 small business employees expected to eventually get their insurance through the exchange would have to go someplace else for treatment, or pay the bill out of their own pockets.

Libtards accuse conservatives of exaggerating the effects of this garbage legislation. So far, it has been libtards who have been wrong. Consevatives were right that people would not be able to keep their insurance. It has started with over 5 million people. By 2015 it will be another 90 million group coverages that will be cancelled.

Another warning by conservatives was that premiums were going to go up. NO ONE was supposed to get an increase so said the libtards. Last week an administration official said that even with the subsidies a lot of people would see increases.

And now, MANY WILL NOT KEEP THEIR DOCTOR. That is obvious. This leads to another effect predicted by conservatives and that is that the QUALITY of care will suffer. This will definitely occur. Sloan-Kettering is by far one of the best hospitals around but because of crapcare there will be people who will not have access to it.

Hope you libtards are happy. You have taken what was surely a good system, even with all its flaws, and made it worse by having it mirror the crap that europeans and canadians have to put up with.

More than ever it is evident that OBAMA LIED AND PEOPLE DIED and THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DIE.

Hmmm, I wonder if Palin's prediction of death panels will come true. Why not? So far Conservatives are 4 for 4 on their predictions.

First: Are the insurance companies not governed by the new healthcare law?

Second question: Are blacks really this gullible?

Third question: Do blacks ever think for themselves?

Fourth question: How did you survive this long?

Hundreds in Ohio Lose Their Doctor Due to Obamacare

Hundreds in Ohio are losing their doctor due to Obamacare, a local news outlet finds:

"With the passage of the Affordable Care Act, some area medical facilities saying, they're no longer able to use some insurance companies," says the anchor.

The local reporter adds, "Hundreds of people in the Mahoning Valley can no longer go to their trusted doctors, and local officials say the Affordable Care Act is to blame. Doctors from the Mahoning county medical society sat down with U.S. representative Bill Johnson today, discussing their concerns with United Health Care's decision to drop local doctors, including the Eye Care Associates in Beaver Township, from their Medicare Advantage plans. That means patients either have to change doctors or pay out of their own pockets."

One doctor tells the reporters that people are "really scared" at the prospect of having to change doctors.

no one who has been paying the LEAST amount of attention to this topic over the past 2 years would say this.  you haven't been paying attention.  and your default is to blame corporate America.  its like you're reading from some liberal cheat sheet that you use when you don't know what to say.

It must be true because Obama is black.

Black, end off. Nothing else matters. Being black is enough.
