Now the republicans in Congress are already looking to indict Biden. This will just go back and forth. Trump didn't break any laws and the democrats know it. Just political retribution and a desperate attempt to keep him from running again.
Democrats started this back and forth with their desperation to stain Trumps name after he trampled their princess killary.

Wasn't it the Trump Justice Department who indicted and ultimately convicted Michael Cohen for his involvement (along with Individual #1) in the payoff scheme to the porn slut?

Are you pretending that the Dems did that ?

That isn’t a rumor.  That’s a fact. Something you seem to have trouble with.  Thank the EC though.

US House Republicans launch investigation of Manhattan DA in Trump probe

U.S. House of Representatives Republicans went on the offensive on Monday against a possible criminal indictment against Donald Trump, launching an investigation into the New York City prosecutor who is probing allegations that the former president paid hush money to a porn star ahead of the 2016 election.

Three Republican committee chairmen sent a letter to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg seeking communications, documents and testimony from him related to his investigation of a $130,000 payment by Trump's former lawyer to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to buy her silence over a 2006 sexual encounter she said she had with Trump.

Trump has denied any such relationship and any wrongdoing.

His fellow Republicans including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy have accused Bragg, a Democrat, of abuse of power and using his office to pursue a political agenda. McCarthy had also said he would direct House committees to determine whether federal funds have been used in the district attorney's probe.

"You are reportedly about to engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former president of the United States," the Republican chairmen said in the letter to Bragg.

"This indictment comes after years of your office searching for a basis - any basis - on which to bring charges," they added.

The letter was signed by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil.

Who cares

All the other "investigations" by the house GOP have only resulted in total humiliation for the house GOP

Anyone remember how that Durham investigation turned out

Like all leftists, your dishonesty is gross. Bottom line, literally every investigation and "smoking gun" has been a total backfire since the day he walked down that escalator on 2015. Now, after what? 6 years? thrown out of court twice before and now the only thing they think they can get him on is a "trumped" up charge for a supposed $130K payoff? lol

I personally would like to thank Bragg, James and even Garland for not just securing his nomination but all but assuring him a win in 2024

Good then I assume you'll stop whining about them (Bragg, James, Garland)

How did that Durham investigation turn out?

99.8% of all  the stuff the radical right wing Republicans believe always turns out to be total horseshit

Qoach never understands how legal actions work.  Indictments, charges, investigations, trials, hearings....  his little brain can't figure out even when he has been schooled and owned in those simple concepts over and over.  Explanations just don't penetrate that little noggin.

It's funny how Trumpturds say people are scared of him and don't want him to run.  Hell, it's just the opposite.  He has proven twice that he can't get more votes than his opponents in Presidential elections  and is an  absolute curse on his party during midterms....  truth is, everyone wants him to run so another whopping loss is added to the overall GOP party.   ;D     Simple facts, but might as well be addressing a brick wall with Qoach's little mind.

Maybe it is you who didn't grasp how the electoral college works. Hillary won the popular vote. Trump won the electoral vote. Many folks believe the electoral college is no longer relevant to our election process.

Objections to the Electoral College votes were recorded in 1969, 2005, and 2021. In all cases, the House and Senate rejected the objections and the votes in question were counted.

And this currently proposed GOP investigation will be no different. It is all for 'show'. The proposed investigation is ill founded because "Congress has no jurisdiction to investigate the Manhattan DA, which receives no federal funding nor has any other federal nexus."

Objections to the Electoral College votes were recorded in 1969, 2005, and 2021. In all cases, the House and Senate rejected the objections and the votes in question were counted.

Nixon and Clinton won their first terms with 43% of the popular vote (Wilson with just 42% in 1912), but they won in the electoral college where it matters.

If we eliminate the EC and follow the popular vote, we’ll have presidents winning with 33% or less of the PV - a minor revolution every 4 years.
