Using religion for political gain....Trump is the least religious person we all know. I hope people see through this

What do you consider to be a "religious person"?

She has had a rough time lately. TDS is incurable. She won't recover.

The smarter the world gets, the harder it is to ignore the truth of Christ.

Dr. YoungHoon Kim, officially recognized in 2024 as having the highest IQ ever recorded says:

"I believe that Jesus Christ is God, the way and the truth and the life."

He points to quantum physics to support belief in God and the afterlife.

Faith isn’t fading. It’s rising — even among the world’s greatest minds.

Yeah, fewer people are regular church goers or religious at all.

I think the numbers have declined but I would distinguish between people attending church from those who believe in God.  Believers still represent the overwhelming majority of the country.

I'd submit that most believers are what I'd call bet hedgers.

Pascal's Wager.

Not for me.  I don't believe in infinite suffering.

It's really a logical belief for me.  And based on life experience.

Nothing logical about talking snakes, walking on water, parting seas, turning a loaf of bread and some fish into enough to feed hundreds, the entire world spawned from two people, Noah's Ark, rising from the dead, virgin birth, talking to a burning bush, Jonah and the whale.  It's impossible to be a critical thinker and believe this shit and much more.

Many believe those stories are allegories.

There is a difference between a faith-based belief in Biblical stories and a faith-based belief in God.  Not everyone who believes in God is a Christian and/or believes in everything the Bible says.

There are lots of people, including the guy with the highest IQ in the world, who believe in God.  Do you think he lacks the ability to think critically?

For me, it’s impossible to conclude that we are all here by accident, that some unknown explosion resulted in life on earth, that our incredibly complex bodies evolved from animals (particularly when there is a complete absence of an entire record of transitional fossils), and that the conditions that allow life on earth are also some kind of accident.

There are a lot of "parables" that cannot be taken literally.  There are also recommendations, love stories, some actual facts, etc.
