Big Shout Out to Joe and David from HDPhysiques and their website www.hdphysiques.com which includes tons and tons of great pics and video clips. 8)
Joe and David have been shooting in the industry for many years for various organizations and websites. They specialize in video, as they both have professional video industry experience.
In 2006, they invested in HD technology and started their own website, with HD technology that really captures the detail of a physique.
These guys are easy to work with, pretty laid back, and like to have a good time. They take pride in the positive relationships they develop with their models. As I have told Joe on several occassions, I can't wait to shoot with these guys in 2008!! ;D
I'll be posting some pics from their site from time to time so you can get an idea of their work and some of their models. In addition, Joe posts on here as HDPhysiques. Check out their site when you have a chance!

Here's the scoop on HD:
High Definition technology represents a whole new level of quality in the women's physique industry. There are plenty of sites doing "high resolution" NTSC, and certainly with good videographers and equipment, that can look very good. However, that technology is limited by technical standards nearly 70 years old (yes, that's right, the National Television Standards Committee format was created in the late 1930's!). Therefore, even with the best of equipment, we are limited to only 640x480 resolution, and average to good color.
In December 1996, the U.S. Congress approved the ATSC (Advanced Television Standards Committee) standard for Digital and High Definition TV. By using digital technology, this system is designed to achieve much greater performance in every aspect of video.... color, resolution, detail, audio, etc. Within the ATSC set of standards, there are actually 18 different formats. 15 for standard definition digital (variants of 640 x 480) and 3 HIGH DEFINITION formats (720p, 1080i, and 1080p). This type of resolution achieves up to SIX (6) TIMES the quality of DVD!!!! Perfect to see every muscle fiber in gorgeous detail on your favorite physique model!
Today, many consumers are buying their first (or 2nd or 3rd) digital High Definition TV's. Also, computer monitors are often capable of very high resolution and color performance and can be considered "high definition" as well. While most people buy their HDTV monitors for things like sports and movies, these products also do an outstanding job displaying pictures of physique women! With so many people connecting their computers up to these displays, it's easy now to get High Definition (HD) content from your computer onto your computer monitor or HDTV.

About HDPhysiques
Our mission is to be the #1 provider of QUALITY female physique videos and photos on the internet. We feature a wide variety of physiques, from professional female bodybuilders, fitness and figure competitors, to amateur physique athletes, and fit bodies from many other sports.
There are plenty of other sites on the web that feature female physique competitors and muscular female athletes, but where we are different is in the quality of the product being delivered. HA! No nudie pics on the FBB Board. I've actually received some complaints about some of the more "artistic" photos that freespirit has posted in the past LOL. When i was looking through Debi's pics yesterday, I did catch a bit of nip slip, so I'll see what I can do for ya. ;)
One of the things that really appeals to me about HDPhysiques is that they offer the ladies an opportunity to make some cash in the biz without taking their clothes off. 8)

I know he and/or his colleagues are at most of the National shows. I met Joe at Junior Nats last year.

Not only does Natalie have a helluva physique, she's also one of the kindest, sweetest gals you'll ever meet. Can't say enough good things about her - she's just fabulous. Strong as an ox in the gym, and perhaps the most genetically gifted biceps I've come across in the last 10 years. She's very driven, so I'd look for her to be a force to reckon with in 2008.

Our initial order was 50% Gray and 50% pink. The pink was gone in days, and I'm still trying to get rid of the gray and black. We had a second order of all pink tops a few months later, and they went like hotcakes too. Girls...... I swear. LOL

There's not much at all wrong with her teeth. I think she has one that's *slightly* further back than the others, but it's hardly noticeable in person, or in any other shot, - this one seems to be an exception - (I've never noticed it until you pointed it out.... too much other good stuff to look at!). The shadow/lighting, combined with the forum's compression of the images makes it look a lot worse than it really is. Notice the same tooth in this shot, and it's not bad at all:

In the photos Lindsey was flexing before doing incline DB sets with 70s (with ease) and Alli has 85 lbs loaded on the preacher curl machine. Even Bernie and Bulk would have been impressed!

In addition to being gorgeous and having a shock and awe inspiring physique Val is one of the sweetest most down to earth people you will ever meet. She also definitely walks to the beat of her own drummer, and brought a lot of creativity, excitement and flair to figure comps (and message boards!) when she competed. Some 'insiders' tried to give her a prima donna rep, but off stage I have never seen any competitor spend more time giving advice (including when she was not paid to work a booth) to new and aspiring competitors as well as fans just interested in general fitness.
Joe took the photos you posted at the Orleans hotel on O weekend in 2006. My first shoot for the site was that weekend too (Amy Thompson, Joe made sure he had Val ALL to himself LOL). I had two opportunities to shoot with Val later on, and both were memorable.

We are skipping the Jr. USA's. We've got a huge backlog of content to work thru, so there's no need to spend the money traveling to cover this show. I know we're gonna miss a good time, though! :(
We will be covering Jr. Nats (only because I have to - the wifey is competing in it). After that, probably no travel until the Europa or Olympia.

Today we have added new model Amanda Ianelli. Check out her model page with 6 HD muscle clips, 2 photo galleries, and lots lots more to come. This footage is from the 2007 Jr. Nationals, and we also saw her again at the 2007 Missouri State show later in 2007. Amanda is one of the few that competes in BOTH fitness and figure, and has very defined sexy calves and quads. She always has an exciting routine, and is a beautiful model.

Good question. I'll try to give her a shout in the next few weeks and find out. She did better in figure than fitness last year, which surprised me, given the quality of her usual routine. I think she placed 4th or 5th in her class.

She competes in the LW division and finished 4th at the Arnold amateur show. She is in her early twenties and her shoot with
David Cooper was her first ever. She has a ton of enthusiasm for the sport and I believe has a lot of potential for eventually winning her class in a national level show. However she will of course have to wait for you to win your pro card.

We are counting the days til we head to Chicago to see the southside's finest physique and HDP fave, Natalie "The A-Train" Ariel, make her bodybuilding debut, in the NPC Continental USA in St. Charles, IL, on 10/25/2008.
Natalie last competed at the 2007 Jr. Nationals in figure. Due to her ability to build muscle and the current judging guidelines in figure, she is making the switch to FBB, and we are super excited for her!
She was pretty covered up when we saw her in the crowd at the recent NPC Jr. Nationals, but I could tell she's carrying some nice new muscle on her frame, thanks to her trainer, and new fiance' Nate Wolfe, so we can't wait to see how she looks on 10/25 - GO A-TRAIN!!!!

We'll be there to support (and hopefully shoot, but I can't say that for certain or it will jinx it - yes, most photographers are superstitious that way....... lol) our girl Natalie the "A-Train" Ariel.

Thanks. Yeah the show is very well run and nicely done by the promoters they put some money into it and it has turned into the premeire show in Illinois IMO. Brings good competition in the classes. What class will A-Train be competeing in? I know 2 Heavy weight girls doing it, both big girls. I will let them know the A-Train is rolling into into town and they better kick it up a notch. :) Should be fun to see.

However there was quite a bit of fortuity involved in getting to shoot with Mavi last weekend. She was attending the show
to support her BF (same in Tampa) and there was no announcement by her that she would be in the States. Fortunately a friend
who was at Tampa tipped us off or we may have missed her.

Heather started training for her first show after seeing a poster at her local gym and thought it would be a unique challenge. After placing third, she realized this was something she was geneticly built for and loved the competitive aspect of it. Heather is a mother of three and has made strength training and fitness a full time job. Specializing in women’s fitness, Heather has gone on to do many shows and is qualified to do the Ontario's with the OPA but has decided to take some time off to focus on her career. At 43 she plans on competing again in the future, to strive for that first place.

Tanya is prepping for a show in October and recently made the trip to St. Louis to shoot. We, at HDPhysiques, wish her the best of luck. She is a terrific girl and I hope some great things happen for her this year! We got some unique stuff this time. We weren't planning on shooting down at the Arch (it was 100+ degrees that day and humid, so we were just gonna do the tourist thing, go up to the top, have dinner, etc...), but we ended up doing some quick shoot stuff from the ground looking up in the early evening, and got some neat angles. I think some of them ended up looking pretty cool, so next time she's gonna bring more outfits if we head down to the arch grounds. As you can see.... she's still known for her legendary quads.

Thanks for the props, Rip. God, I wish she would do FBB! She's got amazing genetics with those rare and very special legs, and if she spent time really training like an FBB, it's scary how good she could be. Even as she is, in contest shape, she'd be able to win many local level shows in bodybuilding - she's got good bicep shape too. She's one that when she is standing un-flexed, looks like a figure girl, but when she flexes, the muscles pop out and she can look like an FBB. Awesome!
