The can of worms a trial in the USA would have opened would have been a huge problem for many.

This guy had way too big of an ego to go out like that.

Word on the street is that he was on a bulk and had started a thread on a bodybuilding forum asking for a critique

Apparently he died of exhaustion from posting updates 20 times a day saying the same thing over and over again...
