Birth of world's first gene-edited babies triggers ethical outcry

The world's first gene-edited human babies have reportedly been born in China. Professor Jiankui He claims that by removing a specific gene from the embryos using the CRISPR-Cas9 technique, the twin girls would have a natural immunity to HIV. But it seems the girls have been born in the eye of an ethical storm, as scientists around the world question the safety, effectiveness and morality of the procedure.

In a video posted to YouTube, the He Lab says the process began with a fairly normal IVF procedure. After the father's sperm fertilized the mother's egg, an embryologist injected the CRISPR-Cas9 proteins into the cell, which performed a "gene surgery" that deleted a gene known as CCR5. This gene encodes for a protein that HIV uses to enter a cell, so by removing it He says the girls should develop a natural immunity to the virus.

I worked on crisprCAS9 at SNBL USA. This technology has limitless applications and has the potential for both the making of modern medicine obsolete (life extension technology) or being used in ways as devious as making A RACE BOMB........yes......tar geting a specific race for extermination. The small Chinese company that we began trials for had VERY OMINOUS and borderline questionable silent backing from novo nordisk which was VERY peculiar. Trust me when I say that this technology will result in infinitely more mind blowing controversy than what they are talking about right now. Very scary stuff when you take the  human nature in the modern tech nerd and his affinity for defying concept of God and deifying science.

And create a super-rich super-race.

They will be smarter, stronger, healthier and even better looking and only keep amongst themselves.

The rest will be an underclass, and eventually be like a different race unless it was made widely accessible which in itself would cause other problems.

Already, the gap between the rich and poor is the highest it's been in human history, a nationless group of plutocrats who can live wherever they wish. With this, alertering of their babies genetics, it will put them at a new level.

They rescind medals if you've been proven to use ped's.  People dont know what isnt cheating but they know what it is.

This technology completely “cured” multiple myeloma. You really need to understand how limitless the potential applications for this technology really are I guess.

Being over 6 foot may be a detriment in the future.  There is nothing that makes it genetically elite.
