New year brings more canceled flights for air travelers
For air travelers, the new year picked up where the old one left off – with lots of frustration.
By late Saturday afternoon on the East Coast, more than 2,600 U.S. flights and nearly 4,600 worldwide had been canceled, according to tracking service FlightAware.

If it's due to weather, you would ground planes anyway, so why do you need pilots to pick up hours to fly grounded planes?
Thought they needed 8-12 hours off for recovery after a rotation. Fly the friendly skies with a narcoleptic and sleep-deprived crew.
I get they want to get these planes up...but offering triple wages to pilots to pick up flights? I don't know enough about the industry, but I assume (hope!) there are rules about flying X number of hours per day/week to assure the pilots are clearheaded and able to do their job?
Sheep will buy into anything so they still don't have to address the mandates decimating crews.
