You're also forgetting that many industries profit from the misinformation that they peddle.
Why else would they still be making the latest and greatest ab machine which will flatten
absolutely nothing. It is often not in the interest of these industries for the truth to be
widely known - instead we are bombarded with lies about how to get in shape.

What do you think that society in general is going to be interested or admire the sport of bodybuilding.
Well, ALL of the athletes take and or deal illecit drugs, they ALL look like freaks to the general public and most end up dead before 50, in jail or somewhere in between.
The fact is that we are in the VERY SMALL minority of people who actually are interested in this sport (and I use that word loosely).
Bodybuilding will NEVER become mainstream, it hasn't in 50 years and it will never...it should just be content to still have a solid group of followers. The fact that bodybuilders can still make a living doing what they do, should be good enough for them.
Whenever I hear them say that they should organize for more money, I can't help but laugh. Olympic athletes have to have second jobs for fucks sake and they should be making more?????
Personally, I don't give a shit what they take or how much of it and couldn't care less what they are doing to their major internal organs....I just want to see how f'ing huge someone can get.
DEFCON:
--- Quote from: Drij on February 22, 2006, 09:55:38 PM ---why with what we know about training, nutrition, supplements, steroids hasn't transcended to "normal" everyday people. Especially in North America? Why isn't this second nature for the well being of people. It's irritating that bodybuilding way of life isn't normal.
It's not as if I expect people to look like Milos Sarcev but where is the self respect to actually take care of your body. Why aren't people educated to think this way. Why isn't this mandatory in school. People can exercise all they want but majority don't know what to consume. Yes economic situations play a role but even people with money look like shit to.
Why hasn't the bodybuilding knowledge/method become normal, mainstream isn't the right word.
--- End quote ---
taking steriods is NOT normal.
