The media would want us to be preoccupied with, and post about, upcoming movies, our favorite celebs, favorite sports teams, sports stars, porn stars, and so on. Or spout drug company or other talking points. Basically, not only living within the fantasy world the media created but, worst of all, promoting it... with zero compensation!
The pecking order of what is bad starts at the lowest rung with the people who shill for movie studios, sports teams, drug companies, etc... for free, and feel smug and moral because they are doing the bidding of the people with the most amplified voices and biggest pocketbooks. At the end of their day, they are reassured when they sit back in front of a tube and watch Steven Colbert or John Oliver reinforce the same talking points and mock those that aren't with the program.
When anyone stops listening to the corporate tube long enough, reality stops coinciding with the fantasy world painted by the media, whose main purpose is to control thought, whether to have people part with their earnings, their culture, or something else.
Anything to counter corporate media influence is good. So, I say, keep up the great work, Gym-Rat!
