The Transition from standing to the Ground is important. Even if a throw fails Neil Adams shows the follow up. Outstanding how he moves knowing exactly where to position himself. One of the Best Judo Champions in the World. I can remember years ago as a kid guys saying Judo is not effective ..how times have changed thanks to the popularity of BJJ and Sambo. Exciting times are ahead !

A nice 8 part series which you can klick on to. The Grip is important and use of the Gi. Remember being shown a few "dirty" tricks for competition such as pulling the Gi in a manner that produced pain in the under arm area. This then gave you the chance to follow up as the opponent lost concentration.. all good stuff.

Neil Adams was an all round Athlete. He did use weight lifting early on in his career.

Of course no system can claim to be the "Best". Judo and BJJ are imperative for an "All round system".

one of the best technical fighters ever. Some styles of escrima have adopted Judo in their Repertoire.
This is the way to go mix it up
