One guy who I think will be on the list as he gets further in his career is Canadian rapper Belly.  He's not scared to give contraversial opinions, is backed by Snoop Dogg, and can rap about mid-east politics while making party jams too:

I bought the first CD....it was ok, but AIC and Soundgarden were both FAR superior in every way to Nirvana.
