G&O Boards - new mods, rules or lax, etc
« on: September 21, 2008, 02:29:29 PM »
no disrespect to the current mods.... they have been mods here forever...

but i rarely see them contribute to discussion which suggests they dont read much content in order to regulate it....

also the fact that i count 9 threads on this board that are worthless..... and some of them are a couple of pages long... why have'nt they been removed?

by worthless i dont mean they are non bodybuilding related.... because there are a good few that are non bodybuilding related but are still interesting.....

when was the last time a mod moved a shit thread?

do we need new mods?

That actually sounds like good moderation to me.

This board has been popular for a long time; why change it and start regulating what people can post?

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

If a thread is "shit" it will die out anyway.

hahha

yep

very good point.... if it is shit it will die out

but thats kinda like starting a website thats called www.7564.com with a message board called "gossip and opinions"

imagine if that board was filled with everything under the sun .... from air hockey to zebra watching

how can i find what i want if it has no structure?

i agree that getbig is what it is and if its not broken dont fix it.....

but there are a few threads that should be moved a lot sooner than they do get moved.

and this is because none of the mods actually get involved with the G&O forum

Yeah, I see what you're saying, but bodybuilding is kind of a 'seasonal' thing.

Aside from the Olympia and the Arnold, there isn't much to talk about.

True, there are small shows, but these don't hold everyone's interest.

Getbig's niche is 'anything goes' because otherwise it would be just another boring bodybuilding site.

Once the big shows start rolling around people sort of get back on track.

A lot of people come here for the entertainment; bodybuilding is secondary;

However, both are not mutually exclusive.

Restricting off-topic posters to the lower boards is a kind of 'damnatio memoriae' imo.

It ruins the fun.

Max_Rep actively mods the G & O as evidenced by moved threads w/redirection topics posted.

Maybe the other mods are active there also but don't post the redirection topics?
