I bought that “Body Solid” (nh) bench with the leg extension/curl attachment on Gym-Rat’s recommendation.  Most of those kinds of things are super-shitty but this one is good, sturdy and good ROM on both exercises.

I thought the same, I took a gamble on it, but I did first read some reviews.
Everything about it is pretty decent. Incline, decline, leg attachment and preacher attachment, etc...

Man, that's a sweet setup!  Just out of interest - are those posters just marketing materials, or have you got people up there you're a fan of?

Full disclosure:  I used to put shots of Berry DeMey everywhere when I was really going for it! ;D  (nh)

Legs today with the Chicago gang:

JustPlaneJane tried a full-depth single squat at 250 lbs, but needed a light spot to complete it. She weighed 129.7 lbs without her shoes. I think she will hit double bodyweight squat by November.

I went 315 x 20 x 4 on front squats (after warm-up) for my working sets, spent most of my workout concentrating on hamstrings.

Consensus was “get well Wes” and stick with your lifting!

Very rarely see anyone front squatting - let alone for that many reps & poundage.

I have a similar Westside banner, but without blue in it.

Also had that in a black/white shirt 10-12 years ago.

Completely randomly, i saw a dude with that shirt on a few months ago. Asked him about it, he had no idea what it was about, just thought it looked cool.

I’ve always done front squats about every 4th leg workout to take a break from the stresses high bar, back squats put on you. If I don’t front squat, I definitely do hack squats. When I first started lifting I did a lot of Olympic lifting, so I’ve always been comfortable with having the weight out front of me and coming up from full-depth. I also do regular stretching to maintain flexibility and protect from injury. Ironically it took me quite a while to squat 315 when I first started lifting, I don’t know if it was psychological, because of my height, or that I had a weak core?

I always do “high rep” sets. Even my “heaviest” set for the day I will use a weight that lets me get 10-12 reps. At least one set per leg workout is up near 16-20 reps. Once my warm up sets are done I use a belt and wraps for all my squatting. I also elevate my heels when doing my sets. I didn’t weigh myself today but I’d guess I’m about 250-255 lbs right now, but I’m not sure.

I’m not sure, I haven’t done 1RM lifts in a long time?

With the front squat I’d guess not too much? My hunch is that my abdomen would fold if I went too much heavier. It’s a good question but not something I’d want to injure myself trying. The real difficulty in high rep front squats is the breathing. To do them your form has to be good and consistent or it just doesn’t work.

Front squats are a different game, even more so for high reps.

Doing 315+ is very impressive, just being able to balance the bar on your front shoulder girdle is a challenge. It's hard to breathe too.

I haven't done them with over 275 pounds in years.

But once you master front squats, they are amazing for growth and strength.

You don't see many people doing them anymore, because they are so difficult.

People loading up the leg press thinking that's how you get strong legs.

I test my breathing by trying to do a high bar back squat set(s) of 50 with 225 every couple of months. I also drop the weight way down about once every 4 months and do sets of 100.

I also do regular cardio and ab work.

Oddly enough, I can squat, bench, and do back work pretty heavy, yet I still struggle with standing barbell curls. I just can’t get in the groove with those.

chucked in 3 sets standing cable bicep curls then repped out to failure on one arm curls each side.
