He lost his body flow after 92, he got bigger not better, his legs fell behind and he never got dry like that again. I think both him and Yates started using insulin after 92 and 93 and it ruined their physiques in comparison to their absolute best shapes which were in 92 and 93, same with Flex after 93 ironman he played the size game with insulin and lost.

the 92 version is his best looking physique

it is NOT his best competitive physique, he would be too small

the sport changed a lot just from 92 - 94, heck his 92 body doesn't crack the top 6 after 95

Although it has been repeatedly stated that Priest had the best arms, I always though Kevin at his peak had the absolute best arms ever in bodybuilding. Shape and size of both biceps and triceps were incredible.

Best overall arms phil is in the running, a long with Roelly

Kai was not too bad

Overall, forearms, biceps, triceps

:-\

After his 2016 “comeback” I remember his dumbass was making all sorts of excuses why he looked the way he did, said he wasn’t willing to take what was necessary to compete, and said injuries where his knees were shot  ::)

The only thing that he had to say was that he simply wasn’t as good as his 90’s version

The only thing that he had to say was that he simply wasn’t as good as his 90’s version

Arms, delta and pecs were 90% of their peak

The back and legs which take far more stress and poundage to develop were way behind

Agreed. From the front and from the waist up, he looked pretty good-especially for his age. But 3/4 of his body just wasn't there.

He was supposed to look better at the Arnold in 2018. But he was off. He said he was holding water. It looked worse than that, like he fell off his diet.

So the general consensus is he looked better when he was losing to Yates than when he was losing to Ronnie?

Does any version of Kevin ever beat Yates?

I think his approach to training over the year affected his physique

He take months off after the O and then start training out a few months out. Those body parts that were his strengths namely arms, pecs and delts obviously responded well and in time for the comp but legs and back not so much

It was cumulative year on year which is why his legs and back did get worse as the years went by

this didn't become an issue until the 2000's, he competed year round in the 90's

yes he was better against dorian than ronnie

based on the way contests are judged, none

dorian's body was tailor made for the mandatory poses, even with the torn arms

1999 was the year that Cormier showed up noticeably larger than in previous years

His decline started in 1999

Despite this, even at 85% of his previous best he was leagues ahead of everyone else bar Ronnie and perhaps Cormier

I was watching backstage footage recently of the 2002 O and Kevin was simply in a class of his own (with the exception of Coleman)
