« on: April 28, 2008, 04:39:08 PM »
for example,do you burn more fat doing continuos 50 min cardio or do you burn more doing 2 x 25min cardio or it doesnt matter? assuming for the 50min cardio you already took in a protein shake to avoid burning muscle for energy...

Probably doing 3 minutes 50 seconds of the Tabata protocol for 8 cycles. With the advantage that you will be muscle sparing while, and after, doing it. May also consider many other interval like  training methods.  You do not want to use a protein shake when involved in actually cardio workouts. Do not use a quality protein for energy resources, but for the repair and building up more muscle tissue. Carbs and fats/oils should be the main source of that energy. Good Luck.

2X25 minutes with a 5-15 minute break is more effective, as you will burn of calories in the break as well. Plus, you can replenish some BCAA in that break and have more overall intensity.

Works with almost every timing, 2x30 is better than 60 and so on...
