Independent, fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

Finding politicians I like can be difficult especially in the upcoming Presidential Election now that McCain has seemingly turned into a Kerryesque flipflopper.

Moderate republican.

And playing bass at Grapefruit League games featuring the Red Sox?  ;D

No need to justify it to me. I grew up in Boston, the Red Sox are a religion up here. You just went up 10 points in my book for playing at one of their games.  ;D

yeah, i thought about getting a NY Yankees jersey just to wear to piss ppl off, but realized being pelted with a baseball would suck.

Red Sox are like folk heroes around here.  When they're spotted it is in the newspaper.

Libertarian and Conservative

-I believe in a smaller government but a stronger military.
-I believe libralism discourages prosperity, true tolerance, and eliminates any form of justice.
-I believe I should be able to have as much control over my life as possible.  I do not trust the government to make my decisions for me.
-I believe in a truly secure border including deportation of illegals and an effective immigration control policy.
-I believe in the constitution as the backbone of this country and constant attempts from the left to "interpret" the amendments differently than the founding fathers is destroying the fabric of freedom.
-I believe preferential treatment based on race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual preference has no place in government or the workplace but is completely allowed for in a private institution or group.
-I believe Americans are grossly over-taxed and most of the money that government takes from us every years goes to the garbage can.
-I believe the idea of emminent domain (check spelling) is completely illegal and unconstitutional.  The government has ZERO right to seize private property.

Right on and good point..

.. I believe nature and the environment are to be treated with respect.  Animal abuse has no place in civilized society and our wilderness should be preserved as best as possible.  I personally am also very much against urbanization.  It has destroyed my town and continues to rape the landscape.

I like to call myself a liberal but you decided.

I'm Pro States Rights (exceptions arise: like North Dakota's law making common law marriage a felony)

I'm Pro Gun

I lean Pro Choice but and largely undecided because of the complexity of the issue.

I'm for the smallest government that meets the common good and for this reason, I'm for the lowest tax that allows the government to preform its functions but not more.  I am not for unneeded government programs.

I'm deadly against government interference in personal affairs.

I'm an isolationist, but not an extremist.  That is I don't oppose FAIR TRADE.  I'm not for exploiting people for their resources or running around the world with our military telling people this is how it's done.

I'm pro labor, pro union and I vote Dem historically for this reason but lately have had a plethora of reasons not to vote republican.

I love the libertarian mindset right up to the point that it fails to address the American Metropolis. (Fact: It's where most Americans reside, scuffing off this fact as irrelevant will do more harm than good to the country folk, if the cities fall apart, contrary to popular kin beliefs, country boy may survive, but they will hardly thrive.)

I'm extremely pro border fence and anti illegal immigration, but pro legal immigration.

I'm a strict constitutionalist and do not believe in bizare interpretations twisting the words of the constitution.

I'm a capitalist but not a neoliberal by any means.  I believe in capitalism policed by the people.  Right now I do not believe we have that as the corporations have inserted direct control into government overriding the will of the people in area after area.  more and more we have a government by the corporation, for the corporation which has led to a corporate wild west.  Global corporate lawlessness.  I'm capitalist but believe ethics of the people must guard/check the corporate power.  I also do not have a problem with some socialism but cannot see America as a socialist country so just in areas where it works to meet the common good and dire need from an overwhelming public need, but not where is it not truly needed.  I do not have a problem with other countries becoming socialist as it no doubt fits the order of some country's needs much more than it would in America.  And I do not believe, again, in telling other countries how it should be done.  Sovereignty is Sacred.

Yes, I'm pro-chavez.  That has a lot to do with me being an isolationist and Chavez asserting control for Venezuelan sovereignty in essence putting a fight up to the Globalist march to dominate every people.

So I call myself liberal, but others might see me differently... I have no problem being considered liberal, it's my open minded behaviour that's allowed me to adopt right wing and left wing aspects of my political leanings.

Ozmo, good thread, you might consider pinning this for a short time if you think it would be good.  Might be nice to get everyone on record who's willing to post since there is so many accusations of misconceptions being made at times. but up to you.

Independent.  BUT, I tend to agree with conservatives on many issues, because they are right on many issues.  I will vote for a Democrat or Republican if I think he or she is the best candidate.

Except for the anti bush BS I'd say you're damn close to my position.  So why hate on FNC so much?

Thanks Bulldog, like benfun, I also liked your position on the envirionment and that was very well said the way you worded that.  I don't like FNC because I basically see it as the whitehouse's personal propaganda channel and I'm not for state run media outlets or media outlets that fill that position.  Unless It is noted as such like with a disclaimer or it were just, like the weekly infomation release from GW... that would be fine.

I'm not anti socialist. I'm not for preventing other nations from becoming socialist.  For us I don't think a solid socialist system is a system best suited for the American creature.  I'm for what works for the people and what the people want.  In a population where most of the people want to socialise and they believe it can work to best fit the needs of the people, hell yes, I'm pro socialist under those terms. ;D  Lets face it, there is a 180 degree difference between what is good for the people of American and what is good for the people of Honduras.

Isn't it interesting how people's eyes are opened up when they actually see what you think and believe as opposed to just slapping a label on you and assuming what you stand for?  :)

Whereas you require no label.  The fact you believe taxi drivers' rights to refuse blind folk from entering their cabs trump those of our vision impaired friends' speaks wonders.

Again, we see the far Left and far Right holding hands.
