Bantamweight contender Aljamain Sterling and former TUF Latin America winner Alejandro Perez have been forced out of their scheduled December bouts, forcing the UFC to seek replacements. Officials announced the injuries on Friday.

Perez (17-6-1) was slated to face Rob Font on Dec. 3 at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old won The Ultimate Fighter: Latin American bantamweight tournament in November 2014. He fought Albert Morales to a majority draw in his last outing on Sept. 17. Font will remain on the fight card against a yet-to-be-named opponent.

Aljamain SterlingSterling (12-1) was scheduled to face Raphael Assunçao at UFC Fight Night 102 on Dec. 9 in Albany, N.Y. Coming off the first loss of his career to Bryan Caraway in his last fight in May, Sterling will have to wait to get back in the win column. Assuncao is expected to face an unnamed replacement.

News of the two injuries came on the same day that it was reported that heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is out of the UFC 206 main event bout against Anthony Johnson on Dec. 10.
