Read that...not sure if I totally agree.

I think gains are still possible, or just a gravitation to where you were when you specialize.

First OCR race next week - feeling like I wish I did a little more stew smith type stuff and less wendler....

Which one?

Spartan Super - I'm going to do the trifecta this year, just to get the medals.   The Killington Beast is legit, and I was more sore after that than any GR event.

Still going to add a GR, but probably in the late fall - I don't want a warm weather event.

Think I'm Ok for the super - it's only 8 miles....trouble is the heat/humidity has been BRUTAL.

I was fast today:

1 mile in 6:33

1 mile ruck in 11

1 mile of work with ruck:
1/4 sandbag (80lb) mix in 30 push up AND 10 sets of bleacher stairs (just ruck)
3/4 mile of 60lb sandbag and ruck

1 mile ruck in 11

50 yard bear crawl

1 mile run in 6:50

100 yd 140 lb sand bag drag

5.2 miles total....non stop for about an hour or so.

Yeah.  Wife said the same thing.

For some reason, I always get a bit of doubt the week before.

Killington Beast course is legit though - 13 miles, with 4-5 ascents/descents on the mountain.

iPod shuffle is still the best player for training ever.

Howerver, I now have bluetooth headphones which are better than ones with wires.

I tried most others - the shuffle works best for me.

Now I need to get the waterproof one for swimming.  My joints are screaming lately - i need to get in the cardio w/o impact so swimming is it but cant do w o music

Been training my ass off for awhile now.  Despite the intensive HIIT stuff no weight loss.  i'm still at about 195
