I'm not up on this stuff.
Is GoRuck an organization like Crossfit?
Goruck is a company started by ex special forces guys that originally centered around rucking. They sold pretty much indestructible equipment that was expensive, but had lifetime guarantees.
They did events that were centered around stepping outside your comfort zone, working as a team, and exceeding your limits. The events were run by ex-military cadres - with the event ranging in difficulty - some were 6 hrs (basic), some 14(tough), some 24 hrs straight (heavy).
Soul Crusher got into them and challenged anyone on the board to do one. I was the only dumbass here who did it.
They since grown to expand the product line, the events, and co-sponsor some stuff at crossfit and such.
I can say with confidence that the easiest goruck event is harder than any OCR, outside of maybe the Spartan Beast at Killington.
Last one I did with SC was last year, we did the 14 hour one, rested two hours, than did the six.
When I originally took up the challenge, I planned on diving in headfirst with a heavy in 2017, but I tore my hip flexor and IT band training, and had to skip. I've done a couple Toughs, basics, and two 50 mile+ "star courses". Still need to do a Heavy.
