Dorian was never a naturally big guy. Just look at him in 1984 when he was (supposedly) natural and trained for only a year using traditional methods, not hit. Aesthetically pleasing yes but big no. Bodybuilders like Victor Richards and Bertil Fox were bigger than Yates in their first year of training. Yates was a walking pharmaceutical experiment. He was highly responsive to the enormous amounts of juice he was on that got him big. It also took Yates 10 years to get to peak size while Arnold and Co it only took them only 5 years give or take. Even with all that rest and recuperation Yates goes on about it took him longer than others to get big.

Very over rated with goofy looking feet (and ears until he had them pinned back).

I think a lot of white dudes just happy to see a white guy being competitive.

No comparison to the quality of Ronnie, Levrone, Flex and (even Jay in his prime). And even Heath would beat him.

While I agree that white guys are just happy to see a white guy being competitive then, 93 Yates was dominant. All time dominant. He was the real deal.

For the sake of saving bodybuilding, I would have went with 93 Wheeler because the Dorian Effect still reverberates in bodybuilding today. Meaning size at the expense of aesthetics. And depending too much on size and conditioning over aesthetics. Size, aesthetics and conditioning should hold equal value. Bodybuilding was an art. They changed that in 93.

Yes, that's what I had stated. At his peak he was using way more dosage and abused GH. The point is he wasn't a naturally big person to begin with. It was the drugs that gave him that size, not some special training method or diet. Yates relied more on drugs than training methods to get big. That was the point.

LOl im not a Dorian fan, especially as a person, but his physique can't be denied or his genetics, no one worked harder or smarter than him, he took far less than most, abused GH, lol. nope. He was with Kerry Kayes, not Paul Borrenson. He was very anti Paul's excessive methods.  No one ever got more out of an iu or mg than Yates, everything was so measured, the first Mr OLympia who has a full business case type plan of how to train grow eat and support growth through medicated strategy. Whilst others had better muscular genetics, none had his mindset and it wasn't to take more, he won the Olympia taking less than Nasser, Flex etc, he didnt take what Shawn or Lee Labrada or even Haney another genetic freak was taking but his dosages for his bodyweight were moderate in comparison to others.

For then record biggest hyper responder I ever saw was Paul Dillet that guy could grow in front of you and only eat one meal a day, that's a guy with a great genetic response and again took half of what Flex and Nasser did. Just a freak.

truth, Paul took a lot of orals pre contest to get his mgs up to hold muscle, was a catch 22 as it killed his appetite as well.  But look at the size he held on one to two meals a day, absolute freak. He was like Levrone he actually grew into the contest.
