Apples: Flex Wheeler, 1993.
Oranges: Jay CUtler, 2001.

Is it true that Jim Quinn once measured Flex Wheeler’s bodyfat at 0.0% in Gold’s Gym just prior to this show?

Is it true that Jim Quinn once measured Flex Wheeler’s bodyfat at 0.0% in Gold’s Gym just prior to this show?
I have it on good authority that this is factually accurate.

Witnessed by Billy Smith (he even took his glasses off to make sure it was right) -

Why does Flex get to be the apple and Cutler has to settle for the orange?

2014 Kai Greene is the grapefruit.

Chronologically it makes the most sense based on the structure of the phrase, in which apples come before oranges in the sentence, and 93 came before 01 in reality.
Also, Jay's skin color is orange. ;D

The BIGGEST FIASCO in IFBB since the 90’s is this: The man with the best back had to be the winner of the show.
The judges turned a blind eye to: abdominal distention, huge guts, torn biceps, torn triceps, subpar posing, terrible aesthetics, lopsided symmetry
NOTE: in 2018 the judges showed that they were finally willing to change when they selected Shawn Rhoden as the winner of the Olympia. Phil Heath had a better back that Rhoden, but the judges did not overlook Heath’s flaws in 2018.

For the most part yes.
Earl, honestly, I would’ve given the Olympia to Levrone in 1994, and to Nasser in 1997.
I would’ve given the Olympia to Jay in 2001, and to Gunter in 2002.

And to Victor in 2007, maybe kai one year
That being said Victor should retire, he wasn’t even looked at in this years arnold classic

I concur. DEXA scans and hydrostatic even experts agree are not 100% accurate and below 4% bf become less reliable because of factors like hydration at the time of the test. But Quinn had a scan that could actually get as precise as 0.0%. The device was banned as a government conspiracy to sell DEXA and hydrostatic machines for big business.

Kai looks great here and perhaps he should have beaten Phil (it was close), but I personally would not put his physique here on par with Jay in 01 and Flex in 03. Too much mass in the midsection.

That's an interesting theory. I hadn't thought of it that way before.
