There might be something to this.

Granted, there was a hacking into a national pipeline which caused the trouble in properly delivering the fuel, but the reaction by the people could be related to some long-term, lingering side effects following the COVID hunt and craze for toilet paper and water. People are fearing scarcity like never before. It's as if they are being prepped/desensitized for the next great depression (no joke).

You can get gas if you pass a gas station off a major highway but anywhere in the city of Greenville then best of luck getting any gas.  ;)  I did notice that Quick trip, stop a minute, BP didn't have any gas but spinx and 7/11 both had gas.  ;)
