(CNN)About 70% to 85% of the US population should be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before the country can begin to return to a sense of normalcy, Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN Tuesday night.
So far, less that 2%about of Americans have received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Such will require 70-85 percent of the population to be vaccinated, according to the infectious disease experts.
“Over the next couple of months, we will be doing trials in an age de-escalation manner so that hopefully by the time we get to the late spring and early summer we will have children being able to be vaccinated according to the FDA guidance,” Fauci said at a White House briefing last week.

Meghan McCain on Tuesday doubled-down on her attacks on Dr. Anthony Fauci — accusing him of putting people at risk with an “intentional lie” about masks when COVID-19 first ravaged the Big Apple.
“The View” co-host ripped into the White House infectious disease expert as she defended her call Monday for him to be replaced with someone who “understands science.”
“He told me not to wear a mask and that masks don’t work when I was 3 months pregnant in the middle of Manhattan,” tweeted McCain, 36, who gave birth to daughter, Liberty, in September.
“He then later admitted it was an intentional lie so we would donate masks to essential workers. Now I’m being told to wear 2 masks.
“But yes I’m ‘misguided,'” wrote McCain, the daughter of late Sen. John McCain, with obvious sarcasm.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Top U.S. infectious disease official Anthony Fauci on Tuesday told CNN that he expects the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to soon relax some COVID-19 recommendations aimed at curbing its spread for people who have been vaccinated.
"I believe you're going to be hearing more of the recommendations of how you can relax the stringency of some of the things, particularly when you're dealing with something like your own personal family, when people have been vaccinated," Fauci said, adding he expected the new guidance "pretty soon."

The Many Variants of Dr. Fauci’s Mutating Covid Advice

In an explosive Senate hearing on March 18, Dr. Anthony Fauci clashed with Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul over a subject that has characterized much of the White House health adviser’s recent commentary on Covid-19: the specter of reinfection, caused by one of the emerging variants of the virus.
Several recent studies suggest that both natural and vaccine-induced immunity to Covid-19 is robust at least for the medium term, and even those hinting at possible reinfections suggest it is a rare phenomenon mainly afflicting people with severely weakened immune systems.
Fauci nonetheless maintains that reinfections, particularly from the South African variant of the virus, are not only commonplace but justify maintaining a suite of restrictive nonpharmaceutical interventions (NPI) such as lockdowns, mask mandates, and social distancing regulations – perhaps even for another year.
Paul pressed Fauci to cite the scientific literature supporting this claim, to no avail. Instead, Fauci deflected the question by repeating platitudes about masks and exaggerating a recent study about reinfections. According to Fauci, previously recovered people who “were exposed to the variant in South Africa” reacted “as if they had never been infected before. They had no protection.”
A Danish study that Fauci later referenced to justify this assertion made no such claim about reinfection being widespread. Quite the contrary, its authors concluded “that protection against repeat SARS-CoV-2 infection is robust and detectable in the majority of individuals, protecting 80% or more of the naturally infected population who are younger than 65 years against reinfections.”
They did further observe “that individuals aged 65 years and older had less than 50% protection against repeat SARS-CoV-2 infection” and recommended targeted vaccinations for this group to bolster immunity. But even this finding came with several acknowledged limitations, as the study was not designed to test for repeat infection among the vast number of mild or asymptomatic cases of the disease, or to directly verify whether suspected reinfection cases were the result of misclassified lingering infections.
The study did not, however, support Fauci’s contention that reinfections are becoming commonplace.
Last week’s hearing is not the first time in recent memory that Fauci has exaggerated the evidence around reinfection, specifically invoking the South African variant. In early February, a pair of studies produced evidence that reinfections from this strain were possible, although at this point they appear to be rare. The first confirmed one single case of reinfection from the South African variant after extensive testing to rule out a misclassified lingering infection.
The second, conducted as part of the Novavax vaccine trial, indirectly inferred that a tiny number of its participants may have become reinfected with the South African variant, “suggest[ing] that prior infection with COVID-19 may not completely protect against subsequent infection by the South Africa escape variant.”
In no sense did either study claim that reinfections are commonplace or widespread. If anything, they were measured scientific calls for further investigation of each possibility. Yet here is how Fauci described them in a mid-February interview with CNN: “[t]he experience of our colleagues in South Africa indicates that even if you’ve been infected with the original virus, that there is a very high rate of re-infection to the point where previous infection does not seem to protect you against re-infection, at least with the South African variant.”
This sort of overstatement is a familiar theme for the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) lead infectious disease bureaucrat, dating all the way back to his mishandling of the AIDS crisis in the early 1980s. Fauci has a bad habit of seizing onto a small kernel of scientific data, drawing sweeping inferences upon it through unfounded speculation, and then presenting his own exaggerated spin to the public as if it is a matter of scientific fact.
Fauci’s Mutating Scientific Commentary
All the more curious, Fauci’s recent exaggerations about Covid-19 reinfection place him in direct conflict with another “expert” assessment of the very same question: his own, at various points over the course of the pandemic in the last year.
On March 28, 2020 – just shy of a year before his recent tangle with Senator Paul – Fauci aggressively contested the likelihood of reinfection in an interview with the Daily Show’s Trevor Noah. “It’s never 100%,” he explained, “but I’d be willing to bet anything that people who recover are really protected against re-infection.”
The NIH administrator’s many credulous enthusiasts in the news media will likely respond to such contradictory assertions by claiming that Fauci is simply updating his assessment in light of new evidence. Yet his track record over the past year suggests a very different story. Far from incorporating the latest scientific findings, Fauci appears to selectively invoke or downplay the specter of reinfection based on whether or not it serves his political objectives of the moment.
Fauci’s claims about reinfection do not follow a consistent trajectory of emerging evidence about whether or how frequently it happens. Instead they vacillate between depicting the possibility as either an overblown fear, concerning only a few rare cases, or an imminent cause for alarm that could spread to the entire population.
During the first several months of lockdowns in the United States, Fauci repeatedly asserted that immunity from the virus would preclude reinfection among those who had contracted the disease and recovered. “It’s a reasonable assumption that this virus is not changing very much,” he explained on an early April 2020 webcast for the Journal of the American Medical Association. “If we get infected now and it comes back next February or March we think this person is going to be protected.”
Fauci repeated a similar claim in a July 2020 interview with NIH director Francis Collins, who specifically asked him about the possibility of reinfection. “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a rare case of an individual who went into remission and relapse,” he explained, “But Francis, I could say with confidence that it is very unlikely.”
These early statements aligned with Fauci’s political messaging in the first few months of the pandemic. He was operating under the assumption that lockdowns would successfully contain the virus, even praising Europe at the time for “successfully” pulling off this strategy (the fall second wave would belie this claim, as well as the notion that lockdowns even minimally guard against the course of the virus). If the United States would only accept similar measures through the summer and perhaps fall, the pandemic could be tamed through NPIs. Meanwhile, reinfections remained a non-issue in Fauci’s eyes.
When medical researchers documented one of the first confirmed cases of reinfection last August, Fauci saw no cause for alarm. During a virtual address to the staff of the Walter Reed Medical Center on August 26, he dismissed the prospect as “purely rare and anecdotal.” Fauci continued: “In every anecdotal case I’ve seen, there could have been another explanation for that. So, I can say that although we have to leave open the possibility, it is likely so, so rare that right now with what we know, it’s not an issue.”
Keep in mind that this description could just as easily apply to the recent studies of the South African strain, which have only confirmed or suggested a tiny number of reinfections. Fauci simply interpreted these earlier studies with greater caution and restraint against exaggerating their implications.
Not long after his August 2020 remarks, Fauci’s messaging on reinfections shifted to an opposite tack. With the looming prospect of another round of lockdowns in the fall, a group of scientists convened for a weekend meeting at AIER. On October 4th they issued the Great Barrington Declaration (GBD), challenging the efficacy of Fauci’s lockdown-centered strategy and calling attention to the widespread collateral harms it had inflicted on society. Instead, the GBD argued, we should adopt a strategy of “focused protection” for the most vulnerable until we built up herd immunity in the general population.
Herd immunity is a biological fact rather than a policy strategy. It comes about through the combination of naturally acquired immunity from recovered persons, and vaccine-induced immunity among the still-vulnerable. With anticipated testing and approval of the first vaccines in the late fall or winter, focused protection offered a viable pathway to reopening and thereby alleviating the widespread social and economic destruction caused by the lockdowns over the last year.
Suddenly Fauci began pivoting his messaging on reinfections. Shortly after the GBD came out, White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Scott Atlas endorsed “focused protection” as an alternative to a perpetual cycle of lockdowns. Fauci himself previously conceded the reality of herd immunity effects in the spring and summer when he pointed out that reinfections were anecdotal, rare, and unlikely. But now he saw his political authority being challenged by the GBD authors and by Atlas’s parallel recommendations.
On October 16, 2020 Fauci accordingly went on CNN with a new message of alarm about reinfections: “We’re starting to see a number of cases that are being reported of people who get re-infected, well-documented cases of people who were infected after a relatively brief period of time. So you really have to be careful that you’re not completely immune.”
Fauci’s statement implied that he had access to a growing body of new evidence on reinfection. In reality, he had a textbook example of the type of case he previously characterized as “rare and anecdotal” in August when he was trying to allay fears of the same phenomenon. A few days prior to the October CNN interview, a team of researchers in the Netherlands reported a single confirmed case in which an 89-year-old patient undergoing treatment for advanced cancer had contracted the disease, recovered, and then passed away after becoming reinfected with another strain. To Fauci however, the possibility of reinfection – once dismissed as an uncommon occurrence – became a political tool to ward off the GBD’s challenge to the lockdowns.
For the next several weeks, Fauci raised the reinfection specter whenever the subject of herd immunity came up. “We have seen specific instances of re-infection, people who got infected, recovered, and got infected with another SARS Covid-2,” he claimed in a C-Span interview that aired on November 12th. This statement came in response to questions about herd immunity from the NIH’s Francis Collins – the same person who asked a similar question in July. Recall Fauci’s answer then: “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a rare case of an individual who went into remission and relapsed…But Francis, I could say with confidence that [re-infection] is very unlikely.”
On November 18th Pfizer announced the successful completion of its vaccine trial and intention to seek emergency authorization from the FDA within a matter of days. Fauci, who had been deprecating the herd immunity concept and hinting at reinfection only a week prior, pivoted his messaging yet again.
In a sense, he had no other option. The central premise of vaccination is to expedite reaching herd immunity in the population. As the GBD authors noted, natural immunity among the recovered and vaccination among the still-vulnerable work in concert with each other, bringing society above the necessary threshold for population-wide herd immunity. Initially, Fauci concurred, stating in an interview on November 22nd that “if you get an overwhelming majority of the people vaccinated with a highly efficacious vaccine, we can reasonably quickly get to the herd immunity that would be a blanket of protection for the country.
Within a matter of days, Fauci’s rhetoric shifted even further away from reinfection and toward touting the medium-term efficacy of immunity after vaccination. On November 27th he told McClatchy News: “From what we know of the duration thus far of immunity, I would be surprised if it turns out to be a 20-year duration, but I would also be surprised if it was less than a year. I think it would probably be more than a year.” A few days later, Fauci told Fox News that the country would reach herd immunity once about 70% received the vaccine.
Then the goalposts shifted
Faced with mounting political pressures to relax lockdowns and other NPI measures in the wake of the vaccine, Fauci began casting about for new rationales to extend their duration. In a now-notorious interview with the New York Times’s Donald McNeil on December 24th, Fauci bumped his herd immunity threshold upward toward 90%. The lower targets from the previous month, he now insisted, were part of an elaborate noble lie to coax the public into greater compliance with his own directives: “When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent. Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85.”
Throughout this period, the public discussion around Covid-19 refocused on the emergence of new variants of the disease caused by ongoing mutations of the original virus. Fauci’s messaging shifted as well, focusing again on the matter of reinfections with a clear message of downplaying the risk. That’s the argument he conveyed to California Governor Gavin Newsom in a brief webcast on December 31, 2020. The new UK variant, he insisted at the time, “doesn’t seem to evade the protection that’s afforded by the antibodies that are produced by vaccines…people who have been infected don’t seem to get reinfected by this.”
With each new strain however, Fauci’s message continued to pivot. By mid-February, as noted above, he was again raising the specter of reinfection from the new South African variant as a pretext for keeping mask mandates and social distancing requirements in place, even after vaccination. Fauci also pivoted away from setting target thresholds for herd immunity as vaccination numbers rapidly rose in the early spring. On March 15, 2021 he told a White House press conference that “We should not get so fixated on this elusive number of herd immunity” and should instead simply focus on vaccinating as many people as we can.
Fauci’s exchange with Rand Paul over the possibility of reinfections would take place later that same week, where he again engaged in unfounded speculation based on emerging evidence from the South African variant. While the aforementioned studies of this variant documented or inferred the possibility of reinfection, neither supported the claim that this was common or widespread.
Except Fauci’s depiction of them offered no such nuance. Instead, he offered Paul a sweeping generalization at the March 18, 2021 hearing. People with prior Covid-19 infection “had no protection” from the South African variant, according to Fauci. He doubled down on the exaggerated speculation the next day, telling CNN “I’m afraid, if people hear what Rand Paul says, and believe it, and you have an elderly person who has been infected, and they decide, ‘Well, Rand Paul says let’s not wear a mask,’ they won’t. They could get reinfected again and get into trouble.”
In just under a year’s time, Fauci’s messaging on reinfection and herd immunity has now mutated across dozens of variants of its own, each conveniently aligning with his political messaging of the moment. Although reinfection from new strains continues to be an avenue of research and investigation, the evidence we currently have suggests it remains uncommon. That hasn’t stopped America’s “leading infectious disease authority” from indulging in wildly irresponsible speculation from a national stage though, invariably appealing to alarmism as a pretext for continuing the same failed lockdown policies he has been peddling for over a year now.

The United States recently passed a grim “milestone” of sorts with over 500,000 deaths being attributed in some way to COVID-19. What this really means, of course, is that more than 500,000 mostly super-old and/or mostly super-sick people have died who, at some point prior to or at their deaths, discovered COVID-19 in their systems thanks to super-sensitive PCR testing that may or may not have been correct. Sadly, that’s the extent of what we know for sure at this point, though our overlords pretend they know everything while consistently being proven wrong weeks later.
Half a million is a big number, for sure, but around 3 million people die in this country every year, to the tune of well over 7,000 every single day. Yes, there have been excess deaths caused by COVID, but those are probably two-thirds of that grim number we constantly see on the TV ticker. Further, overall deaths over the coming years are likely to be significantly lower as we find that COVID-19 took many people weeks and months earlier than they otherwise would have gone.
I don’t point these things out to be insensitive or disrespectful of the dead, but I do think society has lost all sense of perspective. All death is tragic and sad, especially for those who lose loved ones, and my intention is not to minimize any of it. It is, however, my responsibility to point out that, as absurd as it sounds, a significant proportion of the population of this country seems to have forgotten that we are all, at some point, going to die. Indeed, even as 500,000 were dying of or with COVID-19, 660,000 others were dying of heart disease, and 600,000 were dying of cancer. Where, pray tell, is the national memorial for them?
The truth is, throughout human history, the chance has ALWAYS existed that one could transmit a virus or pathogen either directly or indirectly to someone already super old, super sick, and/or super vulnerable (i.e. immunocompromised) and that that virus or pathogen could play a part in someone’s death. Humans have been at least to some degree aware of this for hundreds of years. It’s not that society shouldn’t be wary of germs and viruses and take reasonable, sustainable precautions against them. But THIS? What has gone on over the past YEAR? To say these draconian lockdowns, unscientific mandates, and bizarre restrictions have been entirely disproportionate to the actual threat would be the understatement of the century. They have been a gross, pathological, hard-to-believe-it’s-not-intentional OVERreaction.
Seemingly out of nowhere, society has turned itself into a pretzel in a futile attempt to prevent anyone from dying of or with COVID-19, even though the survival rate is well above 99.5% and the vast majority of those who have died with the virus would have likely soon been dead of something else. We have destroyed livelihoods, futures, and even lives in this Quixotic quest, yet have accomplished absolutely nothing except paving the way for further tyranny down the road exchanged for a false sense of security and protection. In the name of ‘saving’ humanity, we have tragically undermined and destroyed so many things that bring joy to life.
So where does this all end? Vaccine distribution has been ramping up, and Johnson & Johnson is in the game now with a one-shot non-RNA vaccine that could be a game-changer for those who are hesitant. I’m skeptical, but if vaccines ‘work’ to get the fearful feeling good enough to end this charade, that’s good enough for me. Yet, despite increasing vaccination rates and declining infection numbers, Team Apocalypse refuses to budge and are now literally mask-shaming Texas and Mississippi for ending their unconstitutional mandates.
Now, Dr. Fauci wants fewer than 10,000 cases a day to even consider relaxing restrictions, a number that hasn’t been reached since the beginning of the pandemic. The often untold reality is, while vaccines may (hopefully) help, they will never eliminate COVID-19 entirely. This virus will ALWAYS be with us, albeit hopefully in a less lethal form. Given that and based on their actions so far, is there evidence our overlords don't intend for the current measures of masking, restrictions, and social distancing to last for years, if not forever, at least in the areas they control?
Zero-COVID, obviously, is the ‘goal’ of the psychopaths who want to use this pandemic to impose their twisted policy aims on society, and people like Fauci and others who advise President Biden are increasingly looking like they adhere to this ridiculous notion. If ZERO COVID is the impossible goal now, this insane 'New Normal’ we’ve been experiencing for nary on a year will NEVER go away. Not without a fight anyway.
We are living in a time when most people seem to believe that appalling (in any era) assaults on individual liberties are completely worth it if they provide the off-chance that SOME lives could maybe, possibly, conceivably be prolonged by a few weeks or a few months. The irrational fear these hypochondriacs can’t let go of has made life intolerable for the living in countless places worldwide. Consequently, we’ve been watching the world die a slow, self-inflicted death. It’s time to choose life. It's past time to fight back against the fear and the fearmongers, assess the risk, and live our lives to the fullest. Because COVID or not, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.

A top Biden administration medical adviser said Tuesday he did not know why COVID-19 cases continue decreasing in Texas after he and others harshly criticized the state’s governor for rolling back a mask mandate last month.
“It can be confusing because you may see a lag and a delay, because often, you have to wait a few weeks before you see the effect of what you’re doing right now,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of President Joe Biden’s top COVID-19 advisers, said during an appearance on MSNBC.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s mask mandate ended on March 10.
“There are a lot of things that go into that. I mean, when you say that they’ve had a lot of activity on the outside like ball games, I’m not really quite sure, it could be they’re doing things outdoors. It’s very difficult to just one on one compare that. You just have to see in the long range, I hope they continue to tick down. If they do, that would be great,” Fauci added.
“But there’s always that concern, when you pull back on methods, particularly things like indoor dining and bars that are crowded, you can see a delay, and then all of a sudden, tick right back up. We’ve been fooled before by situations where people begin to open up, nothing happens, and then all of a sudden, several weeks later, things start exploding on you. So we got to be careful. We don’t prematurely judge that.”
Fauci last month said the decision by the governors of Texas and Mississippi to end mandatory masking was “inexplicable”
“I don’t know why they’re doing it, but from a public-health standpoint it’s certainly ill-advised,” he said during an appearance on CNN.
Biden called the moves the result of “Neanderthal thinking,” accusing the officials of ignoring science.
But both states have seen a continued decline in daily COVID-19 cases.
Commentators said Fauci’s latest remarks showed an unwillingness to admit when he’s wrong.
“This guy has been consistently wrong and has changed his tune multiple times. Anyone else would have been fired and stayed away from public life. Pride is deadly,” said actor Matthew Marsden on Twitter.
“Fascist Gnome, MD is running out of excuses for his prescribed lockdown tyranny,” Steve Cortes, a former President Donald Trump campaign adviser, said in a tweet.
The offices of Abbott and Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

(CNN) The number of new Covid-19 cases has plateaued at a "disturbingly high level," and the US is at risk from a new surge, Dr. Anthony Fauci warned on Wednesday.
While lower than the peak earlier this year, there were still more than 61,000 new cases reported on Wednesday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. And the lack of continued significant decreases in infections is a concern, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told CNN's Anderson Cooper, particularly given the spread of variants.
"It's almost a race between getting people vaccinated and this surge that seems to want to increase," Fauci said, noting Europe is experiencing a spike much like the one experts worry about for the US.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) escalated his feud with the federal government's leading infectious diseases expert on Monday, calling Anthony Fauci a "petty tyrant" for suggesting Americans vaccinated against the coronavirus should not eat or drink indoors.
"Fauci continues to ignore 100 years of vaccine science," Paul wrote in a tweet Monday morning. "His only real theme is 'do what I say' even when it makes no sense."
Americans who have recovered from or been vaccinated against the coronavirus should "go about your life," Paul said. "Eat, drink, work, open the schools. Enough with the petty tyrants!"
Fauci, during an appearance on MSNBC on Sunday evening, said it was "still not OK" for people who have been vaccinated to eat or drink at indoor businesses.
"For the simple reason that the level of infection, the dynamic of infection in the community are still really disturbingly high," Fauci said. "Like just yesterday there were close to 80,000 new infections and we've been hanging around 60, 75,000. "
If you are vaccinated, Fauci said, "please remember that you still have to be careful and not get involved in crowded situations, particularly indoors where people are not wearing masks."
An estimated 40 percent of U.S. adults have received at least one coronavirus vaccine dose, officials on the White House coronavirus task force said Monday.
Most states in the country have kept some form of capacity limits on bars and restaurants in place as the vaccine is distributed and administered, though some have loosened restrictions and only a handful have lifted public safety measures completely.
Fauci and Paul have clashed on several occasions during the pandemic over issues such as the effectiveness of masks and accuracy of federal and statewide coronavirus data.
"You're telling everyone to wear a mask," Paul pressed Fauci during a congressional hearing in March. "If we're not spreading the infection, isn't it just theater? You have the vaccine and you're wearing two masks, isn't that theater?"
"I agree with you, that you very likely would have protection from wild type for at least six months if you're infected," Fauci said, referring to Paul's assertions about patients who have recovered from the coronavirus and people who are vaccinated, but added variants of the virus popping up across the globe are "a good reason for a mask."
Seven months earlier, during a similar Senate hearing in September, Fauci shot down Paul's claims that the United States could get through the pandemic without lockdowns and through herd immunity.
"If you believe 22 percent is herd immunity, I believe you're alone in that," Fauci told Paul.

The Fauciite Consensus Will Never Take Us Back to Normal

Over the past year of COVID, there’s been a recurring news narrative of “experts surprised their predictions were off the mark.” It’s happened on almost every major policy issue – from masks to lockdowns to surface cleaning – and the margins of error are often vast. The CDC or some government body told us with certainty that something was true concerning COVID, and we had to obey.
But then the data comes out, and the people yelling about “the science” were totally wrong…
Yet somehow we’re supposed to ignore the abysmal track record of these experts and listen to whatever their next proclamation of “the science!” may be, even as the end of the pandemic appears to be in sight. This comes from the “Fauciite Consensus” – the absolutist voices that pretend there’s such a thing as “the science” that determines public policy decisions. Until we understand what the consensus is, and what it plans long term, it’s never going away.
Any meaningful public debate about the consensus positions has been forbidden… After all, how can you reasonably argue with a group that claims to represent “the science”? We’ve been led to believe an infallible genius has been making these COVID policy declarations. In reality, it’s been Dr. Anthony Fauci and a chorus of middling fellow bureaucrats insisting that two-year-olds wear masks and “social distancing” circles be drawn on baseball fields in public parks.
No matter how many times they’re wrong or their directives fail, you’re obligated to obey the Fauciites – because they say so, and the State backs them up with force. It’s like they’re America’s anxious helicopter parents who won’t ever let us go to the playground with the other kids because of the risk of a staph infection from a scraped knee.
That anyone can theoretically get a staph infection almost anywhere never occurs to the Fauciite Consensus… Or they simply don’t care. They pretend to offer absolute safety in response to endless obedience. And no matter how many times they’ve failed in this proposition over the course of the pandemic, they demand that this time they’ve got it right.
The latest version of their blatant wrongness comes courtesy of two large states, Texas and Michigan, who’ve taken very different approaches to the pandemic over the last few months. Texas has gotten rid of its mask mandate and completely opened up its businesses. Its cases have plummeted over the past month – the exact opposite of what experts like Fauci said would happen. The not-so-good doctor claimed it was a big mistake and would lead to a surge.
Michigan, on the other hand, is going through a major spike in cases, including having the dubious distinction of nine of the top 10 metro areas for COVID spread in the country. This is all happening in a state with a notoriously extreme lockdown advocate, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, calling the shots. Michigan still has mask mandates (indoor and outdoor) and has had many of these in place since July 10 of last year. It’s all Fauci-approved, and it’s failing.
How do the people spewing constant lockdown propaganda explain this one? Mostly through a series of “Michigan must be letting up on mitigation measures” and “wait two more weeks” doublespeak. Their explanations simply don’t add up, which has been the case all along.

No reasonable person should be surprised by this anymore, but many choose to keep the Fauciite charade going. The corporate media, as always, is there to leap in with analysis like this recent tweet from NBC’s The Today Show:
Some states with stricter rules are now seeing surges in COVID cases, while many others that rushed to reopen are experiencing sizable drops. The numbers have experts scratching their heads.
Ah, yes, it’s all so confusing, especially when the obvious possibility – COVID mitigation measures don’t work as advertised – is automatically dropped from the equation. The Fauciite Consensus will never admit that it was wrong, no matter what the data and actual experience show us.
It has been wrong so often, it’s hard to keep track. Remember how we were all told a year ago to panic over the possibility that COVID could last hours (perhaps days) on all kinds of surfaces? This led to an unprecedented regime of cleaning everything in sight for fear of COVID contamination. There was a nationwide shortage of anti-bacterial wipes, and alcohol distilleries started making hand sanitizer and disinfectant to help the war on fomites (surfaces that transmit viruses).
Turns out, that was all utterly useless pandemic-cleaning theater. A CDC press release from April 5 states that…
The principal mode by which people are infected with SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) is through exposure to respiratory droplets carrying infectious virus. It is possible for people to be infected through contact with contaminated surfaces or objects (fomites), but the risk is generally considered to be low.
How low, you might ask? According to the report, less than one in 10,000. That’s right, any time you touch a surface highly contaminated with active COVID virus, you have fewer than a 0.0001% chance of getting COVID. This comes after a year of absurd hygiene extremes, such as people washing their grocery bags down or touching every elevator button and door handle with their elbows. In New York City, they were shutting the subway down nightly for a “deep clean.”
Fauci in deed, word, and attitude supported all of this… It was all a giant waste of time and resources.
Now the focus is shifting to when do we get to go back to normal? As with everything else the Fauci Consensus has dictated, we can expect constantly shifting goalposts and a desire to maintain control at all costs.
Here’s what the lockdown leprechaun, Dr. Fauci, said during a COVID briefing on behalf of President Joe Biden’s administration on April 7:
I think what we’re going to see is that, as we get more and more people vaccinated, you’re going to see a concomitant diminution in the number of cases that we see every day and, with that, you know, the cascading domino effect of less hospitalizations and less deaths.
I don’t think it’s going to be a precise number. I don’t know what that number is. I can’t say it’s going to be “this” percent. But we’ll know it when we see it. It’ll be obvious as the numbers come down rather dramatically.
Oh, we will “know it when we see it!” What a highly scientific proclamation. And it’s worth noticing how America’s favorite lab coat tyrant uses words like “concomitant diminution” in interviews when he could just say “drop.” But if Dr. Thesaurus wasn’t showing up on television what seems like every five minutes, people might start to feel normal again, and the Fauciite Consensus exists to fight that urge.
And if you think Fauci and his minions will all just go away in time, think again. There’s already talk about booster shots for COVID vaccines every six months. The apparatus of health policy tyranny isn’t going to just fade out. That’s why you will see more articles like this one from February in the months ahead, telling you to be ready for forever COVID:
Experts believe the coronavirus pandemic is likely to become endemic, meaning the virus will stick around in populations, potentially requiring booster shots to beef up immunity. “We need to plan that this is something we may need to maintain control over chronically,” Fauci said in November. “It may be something that becomes endemic, that we have to just be careful about.”
The COVID lockdown and mitigation measures madness only ends when we make it end. Sadly, far too many Americans prefer to live in a society of absolute control and pseudo-safety. They’ve been brainwashed into believing they are saving lives in exchange for giving up their basic freedoms, and there are a lot of people in power benefiting from their mass hysteria.
In truth, almost all of what we’ve been forced to do this past year is about as smart as spraying Lysol all over your groceries to protect against infinitesimal risk. COVID was never hitchhiking inside your house in a bag of chicken nuggets, and the “experts” who made us think otherwise are hysterical buffoons.
This is the world the Fauciites hath wrought… Whether it stays that way is up to us.

Anybody who’s taking Dr. Anthony Fauci seriously probably needs to stop doing so. He endlessly moves the goalposts to maintain his unlimited power over the American people, something Democrats support. That’s why, on Thursday, during House testimony, Rep. Maxine Watters (who is a low-rent harridan) tried to shut down Rep. Jim Jordan’s efforts to get Fauci to say when enough Americans will be vaccinated so that COVID restrictions can end.
The past year has shown that Fauci either has no idea what he’s talking about or is trying to advance an agenda that invariably has to do with maintaining the 2020 status quo of lockdowns, isolation, and masks.
In February 2020, Fauci scoffed at masks. By April, Fauci was urging people to wear masks. He later explained that he was earlier covering for a perceived shortage of masks and then got panicked learning people had asymptomatic COVID. By February 2021, as vaccines were rolling out and cases were dropping, Fauci announced that people should start wearing double masks.
Fauci also gave constantly shifting information about herd immunity. In December, a physician described that roller coaster:
Late last week, Fauci told the New York Times that new science had changed his thinking on the herd immunity threshold -- but he also admitted that his statements were influenced in part by “his gut feeling that the country is finally ready to hear what he really thinks.”
Specifically, the fraction of people who would need immunity to SARS-CoV-2 (either through vaccination or recovery from prior infection) to extinguish the spread of the virus was initially estimated to be 60% to 70%. In recent weeks, Fauci had raised the percentage: from 70% to 75%, and then to 75%, 80%, and 85%.

For many months now, Dr. Anthony Fauci has advocated that people remain masked outdoors to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“When you are indoors, make sure you have a mask. When you’re outdoors, keep the mask on,” he said back in August, though he acknowledged that being outdoors was significantly safer than being indoors.
Now, Fauci is saying that he believes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will provide updated guidance on wearing face masks outdoors, and says it’s “common sense” to reconsider the guidance.
I call it science, but I’ll take it.
Fauci also concedes that the risk of contracting COVID-19 while engaged in outdoor activities is “minuscule.”
“What I believe you’re going to be hearing, what the country is going to be hearing soon, is updated guidelines from the CDC,” Fauci said on ABC’s This Week. “The CDC is a science-based organization. They don’t want to make any guidelines unless they look at the data and the data backs it up.”
“But when you look around at the common sense situation, the risk is really low, especially if you’re vaccinated,” he added.

Anthony Fauci told NBC’s Chuck Todd that it’s “possible” mask mandates could continue indefinitely in order to reduce seasonal flu infections.
During his appearance on Meet The Press, Fauci was asked when Americans could take the masks off given that the CDC is now advising vaccinated Americans that they can remove the face coverings when outside.
“At what point, if vaccinated people get together, do you take the mask off? Are masks going to be something we have with us in a seasonal aspect?” Todd asked Fauci.
“You know, that’s quite possible, I think people have gotten used to the fact that wearing masks, clearly if you look at the data, diminished respiratory diseases. We’ve had practically a nonexistent flu season this year, merely because people were doing the kinds of public health things that were directed predominantly against COVID-19,” responded Fauci.
While COVID-19 lockdown advocates have asserted that mask wearing and social distancing made the flu virtually disappear, other health experts have questioned the legitimacy of this claim, suggesting that flu cases were merely being counted as COVID-19 cases to inflate the number.
Back in January, epidemiologist Knut Wittkowski stated, “There may be quite a number of influenza cases included in the ‘presumed COVID-19’ category of people who have COVID-19 symptoms (which Influenza symptoms can be mistaken for), but are not tested for SARS RNA.”
“People know everybody is wearing masks and distancing, and so people want to come up with things that are good about it,” he added.
Dr. Paul Offit, a pediatrician who regularly appears on CNN, also previously said that Americans should wear masks and socially distance every winter in order to reduce flu hospitalizations and deaths.
As we previously highlighted, Dr. David Thunder Ph.D warned that governments now have the pretext to suspend liberties on a whim and will abuse that power again “whenever there’s a winter resurgence in respiratory viruses.”
As Tom Pappert points out, Fauci contradicted one of his own claims elsewhere within the same interview.
“The very next question appeared to exemplify an inconsistency, as Chuck Todd proceeded to ask if Americans could finally let their guard down, as he claims they did in May of 2020. Todd’s question would seem to indicate that 2020 saw the spread of COVID-19 because of the lack of adherence to COVID-19 precautions like social distancing, lockdowns, and mask wearing, only seconds after Fauci suggested that the 2020 flu season was greatly diminished because of social distancing, lockdowns, and mask wearing.”

Dr. Fauci is Finally Unmasked

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the leader of the federal government’s politically based responses to Covid-19 since day one of the pandemic. The director since 1984 of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, he now serves as President Biden’s leading advisor on the issue. Last year, Fauci repeatedly undercut President Trump when he was working for the 45th president. And now he’s all in for Joe Biden.
In recent years, people on the left who lie and break the law – from the streets to the suites – have rarely been held accountable. One of them, in the opinion of many, is Dr. Anthony Fauci. Fauci is more responsible than anyone else for promoting lockdowns, mask mandates, and experimental vaccines rather than inexpensive, effective treatments for Covid-19. While most conservatives have lost faith in “Dr. Doom,” it has seemed like he would never be held to account for what he has done or that he would ever be compelled to relinquish his lifelong, incredibly influential, and highly remunerative bureaucratic perch.
But – keep your fingers crossed – that may be about to change. The serious unraveling of Fauci’s undeserved reputation as “an American hero” and “the most trusted voice on Covid-19” has finally begun.
In the past several weeks, a number of things happened to alter the status quo Fauci-is-god spin. For months now, outlying reporting, from reputable sources – including whistleblowers like virologist Dr. Li-Meng Yan who escaped from Red China – has maintained that the origin of Covid-19 was the Wuhan Institute of Virology. According to these sources, the virus was either a bioweapon or a horrific experiment that got loose by accident from the Wuhan lab. After being dismissed as a conspiracy theory, these possibilities to explain the coronavirus have now gained significant ground and gone mainstream.
On May 2, Nicholas Wade, a 30 year veteran of the New York Times as a science writer and editor, published a lengthy article, “Origin of Covid – Following the clues,” that examined and pretty much confirmed the hypothesis of the virus’s creation in the Wuhan lab. Tucker Carlson at Fox News, who has the number one show on all of cable news, building on the work of his colleague Steve Hilton who first reported on this subject last January, highlighted Wade’s article on the origins of Covid-19 on Monday May 10. Carlson added an emphasis on Fauci’s role, noting Fauci’s pushing masks and lockdowns. He wondered if this behavior was “a cover for something else. Could it be that Tony Fauci is trying to divert attention from himself and his own role in the COVID-19 pandemic?”

Dr. Strawman, Or How I Learned To Stop Loving The FBI And Start Worrying
That high profile line of inquiry let the cat out of the bag.
The following day, Fauci was grilled by Republican Senators when he appeared at a U.S. Senate hearing.
Gain of function research in China and a possible U.S. role
Even before Fox News’s reporting one week ago, momentum for taking a serious look into Covid-19’s origins was starting to build. In an opinion piece in the Washington Post on May 6, “Congress is finally investigating the lab accident covid-19 origin theory,” for example, Josh Rogin took note of the developments and confirmed that “It is clear that the NIH and other U.S. agencies don’t want to have their activities investigated” – most likely because of what might be revealed.
The Wuhan lab conducted experiments involving “gain of function” research on viruses like the coronavirus basically to enhance them so they would be more deadly to humans. Gain of function is a controversial form of study that involves boosting the infectivity and lethality of a pathogen. It is the weaponization of the coronavirus. This is the kind of research that you would expect would come out of a place like Germany during World War Two.
And Fauci, it appears, was allegedly a major supporter of this line of “research.” Documents, including published scientific studies, and the accounts of those involved attest to the fact that – in Carlson’s words – “those experiments [in China] were funded by American tax dollars. . . approved and directed by Tony Fauci in Washington.”
Previously, these reports were to be found in the alternative media or on less prominent programs like Steve Hilton’s The Next Revolution (Sunday nights on Fox News) or Stephen K. Bannon’s War Room: Pandemic. Now, on May 10, they were trumpeted on the number one program on all of American cable news. And not only on Carlson’s conservative opinion program: later that week, Fox News’s daily signature news department program Special Report began airing a series of probing segments (including here and here) on the origins of Covid-19.
The allegations aimed at Fauci, based on a variety of records, are that his NIH Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases provided millions of dollars of U.S. government funding to a third party that used the money to help fund the deadly research at the Wuhan China lab. This action allegedly circumvented a prohibition of funding further gain of function research that was ordered by the Obama administration in 2014. Ultimately, it was this research – engineered as a bioweapon or resulting in an accidental release of the enhanced virus – that likely led to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.
Carlson said on May 10, “More than any other single American, Tony Fauci is responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic.”
When an article about his Monday broadcast was published at Fox News dot com, it was titled “Anthony Fauci let the coronavirus pandemic happen. Why isn't there a criminal investigation?”
Carlson further asserted – in a summary of his program’s reporting:
For five years – from 2014 to 2019 – the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which Fauci runs, and has for decades, pumped money to a group called the EcoHealth Alliance. The gain of function research had been banned by the U.S. during that period, at the behest of the Obama Administration! The allegation now is that Tony Fauci. . .invoked that special exception in order to keep funding the Wuhan lab, and the deadly experiments that were going on there. The experiments that clearly went so wrong.
Fauci grilled on Capitol Hill
On Tuesday, May 11, Fauci was one of the witnesses at a hearing of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on the government’s Covid-19 response. Several of the committee’s Republican members, notably Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), grilled Fauci on the subject of gain of function research and the NIH’s possible role in funding it in China. It was video clips of Paul’s challenges to Fauci, and Fauci’s replies, that went viral and further established the subject as an important one.
Fox News’s reporting and the questioning of Fauci at the May 11 hearing could not be ignored by the MSM. As the Washington Post reported (and tried to spin) the story on May 12 in an article titled “Rand Paul and the GOP effort to blame Fauci for the coronavirus”:
For much of the past year, Republicans have decried lead government coronavirus expert Anthony S. Fauci’s prescriptions for mitigating the pandemic — including masks, social distancing and keeping society shut down.
But increasingly in the past week, the effort has taken on a new flavor — with suggestions that Fauci might be personally to blame for the advent of the virus itself.
There remain major questions about just how the virus emerged, including the idea that it somehow escaped a lab in the city of Wuhan, China, where the virus originated. The theory, which was once highly speculative and which was downplayed by top medical experts such as Fauci, is suddenly being treated more seriously, though there is no conclusive evidence either way.
But while some Republicans have criticized the initial dismissal of that theory as evidence of a lack of curiosity from the media and health officials about the origins of the virus — or even some kind of pro-China or anti-Trump bias — the theories about Fauci’s complicity take things to another level. At the May 11 hearing, Sen. Paul questioned Dr. Fauci during his allotted seven minutes:
Sen. Rand Paul: Dr. Fauci, do you still support funding of the NIH funding of the lab in Wuhan?
Dr. Anthony Fauci: Senator Paul, with all due respect, you are entirely and completely incorrect that the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. . . [note: it is likely that Fauci misspoke in this reply.]
Paul: Do you support sending money to the Wuhan Virology Institute?
Fauci: We do not send money now to the Wuhan Virology Institute.
Paul: Do you support sending money? We did under your tutelage. We were sending it through EcoHealth. It was a sub-agency and a sub-grant. Do you support that the money from NIH that was going to the Wuhan Institute?
Fauci: Let me explain to you why that was done. The SARS-CoV-1 originated in bats in China. It would have been irresponsible of us if we did not investigate the bat viruses and the serology to see who might have been infected in China.
Paul: Or perhaps it would be irresponsible to send it to the Chinese government that we may not be able to trust with this knowledge and with this incredibly dangerous viruses….
Fauci: I do not have any accounting of what the Chinese may have done, and I’m fully in favor of any further investigation of what went on in China. However, I will repeat again, the NIH and NIAID categorically has not funded gain-of-function research to be conducted in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. [emphasis added.]

On May 12, Sen. Paul called Fauci a liar for his testimony the day before.

A little over a week ago, the largest mainstream newspaper in Australia and the country’s only national paper, The Australian, published an eye-opening article that has gained virtually no notice here. The paper’s investigative reporter Sharri Markson reported that according to documents that she had obtained, leading Chinese Communist Party scientists floated the idea of a virus-based bio-weapon to take down the West – in 2015!
The Australian article, published on May 7, was headlined “‘Virus warfare’ in China military documents.”
Chinese military scientists discussed the weaponisation of SARS coronaviruses five years before the COVID-19 pandemic, outlining their ideas in a document that predicted a third world war would be fought with biological weapons.
The Australian article is behind a pay wall but an editorial about it, “Covid as biological war? China paper needs answers,” can be read here. In its article about the story, “‘New Era’ May Be Upon Us,” the Daily Telegraph, another leading Australian newspaper, reported:

Australian television picked up the story. On May 9, SkyNews Australia reported “Chinese document discussing weaponising coronaviruses provides ‘chilling’ information.” In the article about the television report:
Sky News host Sharri Markson has assessed “chilling” details from a document produced by Chinese military scientists, in which they discussed weaponising SARS coronaviruses five years before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Ms Markson said the book was written by People’s Liberation Army scientists and senior Chinese public health officials in 2015.
The documents describe SARS coronaviruses as heralding a “new era of genetic weapons” and said they can be “artificially manipulated into an emerging human – disease virus, then weaponised and unleashed in a way never seen before.”
The Chinese-language paper is called “The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons.”
“The document also talks about the psychological terror that bioweapons can cause. It’s chilling,” Ms Markson said. . .
“The significance of this paper is that it offers a rare insight into how senior scientists at one of the PLA’s [People’s Liberation Army] most prominent military universities, where high levels of defence research were conducted, were thinking about biological research.”
This development was reported in India, at dnaindia dot com.
The executive director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), Peter Jennings, said the document is as close to a “smoking gun as we’ve got. I think this is significant because it clearly shows that Chinese scientists were thinking about military application for different strains of the coronavirus and thinking about how it could be deployed.”
The Epoch Times, which excels in covering otherwise underreported news from Asia, reported the story on May 9.
The newly discovered Chinese military paper is titled “The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons.” Eighteen authors at the highest levels of China’s military and academic hierarchy wrote the 263-page paper. It was obtained by DoS in May 2020 and independently authenticated by digital forensics specialist Robert Potter. Additional details of the paper will be published in Sharri Markson’s September book on the origins of COVID-19, “What Really Happened in Wuhan” (HarperCollins).
As time goes on, inevitably the truth will out – in this case, thanks to Fox News, Nicholas Wade, Stephen K. Bannon, Sharri Markson, the Australian media, and many other uncorrupted truth-seeking sources. Last Tuesday the CDC came out with new guidelines regarding wearing of masks. Different states had different responses to this new information. Some have continued to mandate mask wearing while others have not. Oregon went on the fence about it and nobody is happy here. People who are fully vaccinated can go mask free in most situations indoors and pretty much all situations outdoors. Some businesses, such as Costco responded by saying you could go mask free inside their stores if you were fully vaccinated and you were on your honor to do that because they would not require proof.
Oregon health authority decided that 'on your honor' didn't cut it and proof of vaccination was required in order to go mask free. This put businesses in the position of policing their patrons which raised a host of concerns. Who wants to be the person asking to see your "passport" in order to get in mask free. Secondly, what stops a person from walking in with their mask on an then taking it off when inside? This leaves us with who knows who is or isn't supposed to wear a mask.
Guess what? Business prefers to stick with masks being required for now. My daughter and her husband were shopping at Costco today. Masks were still required. However, there were several people shopping sans masks. The bottom line is people are confused as to what is what. Can you blame them?

There is a certain amount of luck in surviving each day of our lives.
My family genetics for longevity is a mixed bag. Both my mom and my dad died at a fairly young age, but they also had a lot of bad habits in terms of maintaining good health. Two of my grandparents died fairly young and two lived to be pretty old. I have no biological siblings so.... When I was a very premature 'youngin', (newborn) I wasn't expected to live. So, each day was something of a miracle. Among other issues I had pneumonia. The doctor ordered a sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim - injection....there's a scar on my butt to prove it...could this have been that 'special shot' you asked about?
If I even bother to turn the TV on, it usually isn't until after 8:00 pm. This means I watch max about 3 hours of the boob tube. Mostly, I prefer gardening and home shows and the occasional movie on Netflix or Prime Video.
Even if I wanted to ignore the pandemic, my family would not have let me.

Not entirely true. I am vaccinated and know that I can still get the virus. I am 99.9% confident that if that happens I will be just fine. But what if I were to have the virus and not realize it? I could give it to someone who is either vulnerable, not vaccinated or both. I don't want to see anyone suffer or die needlessly. Me personally, I still wear mine at times to make others feel at ease or as a sign of respect. I don't wear it when at the gym but I also train at a time of day when the crowd size is very small. I see your point though and by and large, I agree. But, there is some value if not scenarios where vaccinated people wearing masks can still be of benefit to others. It's the whole brothers keeper thing. I have a good amount of dickheads at work who are neither vaccinated nor wearing masks even though my place requires it. So when I go to the bathroom and there are people in there not wearing masks that I don't trust, I'll slide mine on. Scenario's like that. I'm not forcing it on anyone and nobody should be triggered by what I do.

I can accept that Fauci lied to the public. What you seem unable to accept is that I don't believe it is such a big deal that he lied to the public. Just for the record, I don't trust liars either because once I find out they lied to me, it becomes harder to believe them.
Being an only child, I can honestly say I was pretty spoiled as a kid and probably got away with more. Lying was the only thing that would get me in deep trouble with my parents.

I look at it this way from a math standpoint:
If you are vaxed, you have a low probability of contacting the virus.
Even if that happens, the probability that you're an asymptomatic carrier is even lower.
If you are these, then you encounter and unvaxed person during this incredibly short window of carrying, transmission is extremely low inside unless close proximity, and nearly impossible outside.

A group of 18 prominent scientists said it was too early to dismiss the lab-leak theory and that the WHO investigation had been tainted by Chinese government interference. The scientists called for another independent investigation.
This past weekend, the Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. intelligence believes that several workers at the Wuhan lab became ill in the fall of 2019, leading to hospitalizations.
Suddenly, it’s all the rage in the mainstream media to talk about the possibility of a lab -eak that caused the pandemic. Even Dr. Anthony Fauci has succumbed and now says he’s “not sure” the coronavirus occurred naturally.
But many prominent scientists have been calling for another investigation — including the lab-leak hypothesis — since the WHO team got back from China in March. And U.S. intelligence agencies have claimed all along that the lab-leak theory could not be dismissed.

The DOD has lifted the requirement to wear masks on DOD premises as long as people are fully vaccinated, according to my son. Here's the kicker. He lives off post in Germany, which still requires masks in stores.

'You don't want to study bats in Fairfax County, Virginia, to find out what the animal-human interface is that might lead to a jumping of species.
'So we had a modest collaboration with very respectable Chinese scientists who were world experts on coronavirus, and we did that through a sub-grant from a larger grant to EcoHealth.'
Fauci added: 'The larger grant was about $600,000 over a period of five years. So it was a modest amount. The purpose of it was to study the animal-human interface, to do surveillance and to determine if these bat viruses were even capable of' infecting humans.
Francis Collins, the director of NIH, had said earlier in the hearing that the American taxpayer money that went to the Wuhan Institute of Virology was not approved to conduct gain of function research.

It’s like being a little bit pregnant.
Rattled by the morning’s confrontation with Paul, Fauci for the first time admitted he was not at all confident the virus had developed naturally and maybe, just maybe, it could have come from a lab leak.
Paul, a medical doctor, did not allow Fauci to slide away from a direct answer to the crucial question: did American taxpayers fund dangerous research to “juice up” bat viruses in the Wuhan Institute?
He answered no. But the correct answer is yes.
On this, potentially the most consequential of all of Facui’s errors, he had to be dragged kicking and screaming by Paul to a final acknowledgment of the obvious.

From my perspective, your comments are brave, and coming from your trusted voice, will help dispel the myths being spun around the virus’ origins. Once this pandemic’s over I look forward thanking you in person and let you know how important your comments are to us all.”
Fauci responded to the email the day after, writing

Daszak, who also works for the World Health Organisation, is on record admitting that he was involved with manipulating coronaviruses. Here is a video of him talking in DECEMBER 2019 about how ‘good’ the viruses are for messing around with in a lab:
Daszak notes that “coronaviruses are pretty good… you can manipulate them in the lab pretty easily… the spiked proteins drive a lot about what happens. You can get the sequence you can build the protein, we work with Ralph Baric at UNC to do this, insert into the backbone of another virus and do some work in a lab.”
Elsewhere, the emails show that Fauci also knew very early on, before the WHO even declared a pandemic, that researchers suspected the virus had been ‘potentially engineered’ in a lab, as this exchange with Kristian G. Andersen of the Scripps Research Institute from January 2020 shows:

Is it any surprise that this guy, whose organisation has shovelled at least $600,000 to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in the past few years to play around with coronaviruses inside the lab, determined within 3 hours of visiting the lab in February 2021 that there was ‘nothing to see here’?

Republican Sen. Rand Paul continued to go after Dr. Anthony Fauci in a radio interview Wednesday, claiming he's invested in a Wuhan lab leak theory being discredited because the U.S. financed some of the lab's research.
Paul claimed the nation's top infectious disease expert had an 'incestuous' relationship' with Dr. Peter Daszak, a British zoologist whose EcoHealth Alliance non-profit steered U.S. funding toward the Wuhan lab, and the scientists working there.
'It's all so incestuous,' Paul told Tom Roten with WVHU, a local radio station in Kentucky. 'It's a small group of people. Fauci is at the head of this and really if we want to investigate this lab and we want to know how to prevent this from happening again, Fauci cannot be a part of this investigation.'
Paul, as well as former President Donald Trump, have leaned into the theory that the COVID-19 pandemic started as a Wuhan-based lab leak - and not a naturally occurring animal-to-human transmission that either started or grew from a Wuhan wet market.
A number of Republicans have expressed outrage that the National Institutes of Health gave $3.4 million to EcoHealth Alliance from 2014 to 2019 and $600,000 of that went to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
With a trove of Fauci's emails now public, one getting attention was one from Daszak thanking Fauci for dismissing the theory that COVID-19 leaked from the institute.

An epidemiologist and professor at the University of Stanford said Friday that Dr. Anthony Fauci’s credibility "is entirely shot" after revelations from his emails show a reversal on the subject of mask wearing to prevent COVID-19.
"I think he's been all over the place on masks," Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine at Stanford said on "The Ingraham Angle." "There are emails you can find in the treasure trove of emails that have been released where he acknowledged the virus has been aerosolized -- well the cloth masks people have been recommending, they're not particular[ly] effective against aerosolized viruses.

‘Damning’ science shows COVID-19 likely engineered in lab: experts

“Damning” science strongly suggests that COVID-19 is a man-made monster, optimized in a lab for maximum infectivity before hitting the outside to catastrophic effect, two experts said Sunday.
Writing in an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Steven Quay and Richard Muller pointed to two key pieces of evidence to support the claim, which has increasingly gained steam after long being derided as little more than speculation.
The first relates to the nature of gain-of-function research, in which microbiologists tweak a virus’ genome to alter its properties, such as making it more transmissible or more lethal.
Of the 36 possible genome pairings that can produce two arginine amino acids in a row — which results in boosting a virus’ lethality — the one most commonly used in gain-of-function research is CGG-CGG, or double CGG, wrote Quay and Muller.
Quay and Muller stated the double CGG sequence has never been found naturally among the entire group of coronaviruses that includes CoV-2.
“The insertion sequence of choice is the double CGG,” wrote Quay, the founder of Atossa Therapeutics, and Muller, a former top scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory who now teaches physics at the University of California’s Berkeley campus.
“That’s because it is readily available and convenient, and scientists have a great deal of experience inserting it,” they wrote. “An additional advantage of the double CGG sequence compared with the other 35 possible choices: It creates a useful beacon that permits the scientists to track the insertion in the laboratory.”

The pair noted that the double CGG sequence has never been found naturally among the entire group of coronaviruses that includes CoV-2, which causes COVID-19.
But, in what Quay and Muller called a “damning fact,” it was found in CoV-2.
“Proponents of zoonotic origin must explain why the novel coronavirus, when it mutated or recombined, happened to pick its least favorite combination, the double CGG,” they wrote. “Why did it replicate the choice the lab’s gain-of-function researchers would have made?
“At the minimum, this fact — that the coronavirus, with all its random possibilities, took the rare and unnatural combination used by human researchers — implies that the leading theory for the origin of the coronavirus must be laboratory escape.”
Recently revealed emails from Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, show that he was warned as early as January 2020 that the virus may have been “engineered.”
In a Senate hearing last month, Fauci admitted that he couldn’t be certain that the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China — the nation from which COVID-19 sprang in late 2019 — didn’t put a pre-pandemic $600,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health toward gain-of-function research.
The stated purpose of the grant was determining whether coronaviruses could be transmitted from bats to humans, a scenario popularly suggested as the origin of COVID-19.
Beyond apparent signs of gain-of-function engineering, Quay and Muller wrote in the Journal that the evidence “most compelling is the dramatic differences in the genetic diversity of CoV-2, compared with the coronaviruses responsible for SARS and MERS.”
SARS and MERS, which were confirmed to be of natural origin, “evolved rapidly as they spread through the human population, until the most contagious forms dominated,” the pair wrote.
By contrast, COVID-19 proved to be highly contagious from the point it was first detected.
“Such early optimization is unprecedented, and it suggests a long period of adaptation that predated its public spread,” wrote Quay and Muller. “Science knows of only one way that could be achieved: simulated natural evolution, growing the virus on human cells until the optimum is achieved. That is precisely what is done in gain-of-function research.”
The two pieces of evidence led Quay and Muller to conclude that the possibility that COVID-19 was engineered should be viewed as the leading theory.
“The presence of the double CGG sequence is strong evidence of gene splicing, and the absence of diversity in the public outbreak suggests gain-of-function acceleration,” they wrote. “The scientific evidence points to the conclusion that the virus was developed in a laboratory.”

‘Damning’ science shows COVID-19 likely engineered in lab: experts

“Damning” science strongly suggests that COVID-19 is a man-made monster, optimized in a lab for maximum infectivity before hitting the outside to catastrophic effect, two experts said Sunday.
Writing in an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Steven Quay and Richard Muller pointed to two key pieces of evidence to support the claim, which has increasingly gained steam after long being derided as little more than speculation.
The first relates to the nature of gain-of-function research, in which microbiologists tweak a virus’ genome to alter its properties, such as making it more transmissible or more lethal.
Of the 36 possible genome pairings that can produce two arginine amino acids in a row — which results in boosting a virus’ lethality — the one most commonly used in gain-of-function research is CGG-CGG, or double CGG, wrote Quay and Muller.
Quay and Muller stated the double CGG sequence has never been found naturally among the entire group of coronaviruses that includes CoV-2.
“The insertion sequence of choice is the double CGG,” wrote Quay, the founder of Atossa Therapeutics, and Muller, a former top scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory who now teaches physics at the University of California’s Berkeley campus.
“That’s because it is readily available and convenient, and scientists have a great deal of experience inserting it,” they wrote. “An additional advantage of the double CGG sequence compared with the other 35 possible choices: It creates a useful beacon that permits the scientists to track the insertion in the laboratory.”

The pair noted that the double CGG sequence has never been found naturally among the entire group of coronaviruses that includes CoV-2, which causes COVID-19.
But, in what Quay and Muller called a “damning fact,” it was found in CoV-2.
“Proponents of zoonotic origin must explain why the novel coronavirus, when it mutated or recombined, happened to pick its least favorite combination, the double CGG,” they wrote. “Why did it replicate the choice the lab’s gain-of-function researchers would have made?
“At the minimum, this fact — that the coronavirus, with all its random possibilities, took the rare and unnatural combination used by human researchers — implies that the leading theory for the origin of the coronavirus must be laboratory escape.”
Recently revealed emails from Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, show that he was warned as early as January 2020 that the virus may have been “engineered.”
In a Senate hearing last month, Fauci admitted that he couldn’t be certain that the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China — the nation from which COVID-19 sprang in late 2019 — didn’t put a pre-pandemic $600,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health toward gain-of-function research.
The stated purpose of the grant was determining whether coronaviruses could be transmitted from bats to humans, a scenario popularly suggested as the origin of COVID-19.
Beyond apparent signs of gain-of-function engineering, Quay and Muller wrote in the Journal that the evidence “most compelling is the dramatic differences in the genetic diversity of CoV-2, compared with the coronaviruses responsible for SARS and MERS.”
SARS and MERS, which were confirmed to be of natural origin, “evolved rapidly as they spread through the human population, until the most contagious forms dominated,” the pair wrote.
By contrast, COVID-19 proved to be highly contagious from the point it was first detected.
“Such early optimization is unprecedented, and it suggests a long period of adaptation that predated its public spread,” wrote Quay and Muller. “Science knows of only one way that could be achieved: simulated natural evolution, growing the virus on human cells until the optimum is achieved. That is precisely what is done in gain-of-function research.”
The two pieces of evidence led Quay and Muller to conclude that the possibility that COVID-19 was engineered should be viewed as the leading theory.
“The presence of the double CGG sequence is strong evidence of gene splicing, and the absence of diversity in the public outbreak suggests gain-of-function acceleration,” they wrote. “The scientific evidence points to the conclusion that the virus was developed in a laboratory.”

The Russian Manchurian Candidate hoax was the biggest political scandal of my lifetime, but nobody died. This one is a scandal of epic proportions, if true. Lies upon lies, poetic injustice, arrogance, and an agenda that harmed millions of people. A novelist couldn’t have written him better.
A trove of thousands of emails released as the result of a Freedom of Information Act request show that, since the beginning of COVID-19, Anthony Fauci has been just as mendacious as some of his worst critics have alleged.
On Jan. 1, 2020, Fauci received a credible warning from a professor at the Scripps Research Institute, Kristian Anderson, that some of SARS-COV-2’s features “(potentially) look engineered” and that she and her colleagues “all find the genome inconsistent with expectations from evolutionary theory.”
Fauci later blasted the “lab origin theory” as completely uncredible, leading the entire media-industrial complex to deride theories of bio-engineering or even the idea the virus might have leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. His assurance, despite now finding it safe to backtrack on saying he’s “not completely confident” of SARS-2’s natural origin, was doubtless a major factor in Facebook banning posts supporting the lab origin theory.
That’s just one among many lies he’s spun since SARS-COV-2 reached our shores. It was clear from almost the beginning that Fauci was not just a benevolent science bureaucrat “trying to figure it out,” not just a bumbling idiot, but someone willing to put the entire nation through a punishing social and medical experiment, to gaslight the public time and time again to keep it going, and then bask in the sycophancy of Democratic Party lawmakers and the media while millions suffered needlessly. That’s the sort of thing we expect from the villains of political thrillers, not well-intentioned public servants who are just trying to “follow the science.”
Students 100 years from now might be forgiven for thinking Fauci was an invented boogeyman. Deceit is a classic character trait of fictional antagonists, and Fauci is, as one popular (now Twitter-banned) lockdown skeptic put it, a “one-man highlight reel of mendacity.”
Besides his lies about the well-supported lab origin theory for COVID, Fauci misled the public about asymptomatic spread being a major driver of the outbreak, as a Feb. 4, 2020 email revealed. He lied about masks working, as “the virus is small enough to pass through the material,” according to a Feb. 5, 2020 email.
He admitted outright he moved the goalposts on herd immunity based on what he thought the public was “ready to hear,” and he continues to lie about herd immunity being a necessity given that vaccine’s purported efficacy, much less a goal that must be achieved through mass administration of an experimental vaccine.
His deceit is just one aspect that conforms to the villain archetype in literature. There’s a poetic injustice in his story arc that would be hard for a novelist to top.
Under his directorship, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases funded the EcoHealth Alliance, which funneled $600,000 to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the lab now under scrutiny for leaking SARS-COV-2, to study coronaviruses in bats.
While Fauci maintains NAIAD never funded the dangerous gain-of-function studies that appear to be potentially involved in COVID’s origin, the U.S. State Department said in January that WIV was indeed conducting gain-of-function research. In 2012, Fauci defended this “risky” type of research, involving increasing the transmissibility or severity of a disease in humans, that he knew might spark a pandemic.
He stated it was a risk worth taking even though it was a “valid concern” that “someone somewhere might attempt to replicate these experiments sloppily.” This same man oversaw an organization that funded an institute conducting gain-of-function research in a lower-safety BLS-2 lab – the equivalent of a “standard U.S. dentist’s office,” according to molecular biologist Richard Ebright.
How would a novelist juice up a story to breathtaking levels of scandal from this point? Why not promote the antagonist to trusted White House advisor and national spokesperson for “what is safe” and “what needs to be done” so that he, having promoted and potentially funded the kind of research that may have produced this global scourge, has the ear of the most powerful person in the world and as much airtime on major networks as he wants to push junk science COVID-19 safety-ism on 330 million people?
Such a character wouldn’t be a true arch-villain if the real-world stakes were anything less than dire. On Fauci’s insistence, governors stripped their citizens of fundamental rights with draconian stay-home orders and punishingly arbitrary “phases” to return to normal.
The policies Fauci pushed night and day for months destroyed millions of livelihoods, ensured a year of lost education especially for underprivileged kids, killed about 200,000 businesses, caused an alarming drop in critical blood donations, and bears much of the blame for who thousands of additional lives lost by overdose (up 42 percent in 2020) and increased refusal to seek medical care due to concern about contracting COVID-19.
It would be a missed opportunity, of course, not to write in such an antagonist’s effusive praise for another major villain in a powerful government role: an equally egotistical liar almost as gifted at gaslighting who ordered COVID-19-positive patients to be admitted to nursing homes, leading to a probable 1,000 more deaths. Naturally, he’d tell the public Cuomo’s New York, which seeded most of COVID-19’s spread through the United States, “did it correctly.”
To round out the profile of a power-craven political climber pushing restrictions and guidelines that keep him in a strong position of influence, a writer might include a sense of superiority so potent he couldn’t hide his condescension for the members of Congress he’s accountable to, who dare demand a straight answer. It might look something like this, or this.

Anthony Fauci: Guilty Bureaucrat Extraordinaire

The Law of the Bureaucrat states simply:
“The Bureaucrat is the smartest person in the room.”
This Law has a huge impact on everyday life, and if fully understood, will make it clear that we must clean out all the Federal bureaucracies. Further, it demonstrates why Anthony Fauci felt free to pursue gain of function research in collaboration with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. And finally, it explains why he feels free to completely dismiss any criticism of his actions. Let’s break it down.
Congress passes lots of laws. But Congress has no interest in actually dealing with the details. They love to paint with a broad brush and say they’ve “helped you” by passing a multi-thousand page act with a wonderful sounding title. How this should be implemented is too much trouble for such important people to deal with. Instead, they hand it off to a bureaucratic agency. Or, if they are “Faced with a problem, be it real or imagined, that stirs voters, politicians propose new programs to solve the problem.”
Congress (and this applies at many lower levels as well) simply isn’t smart enough to give these bureaucrats adequate direction. “Formulating rules now often requires bureaucrats specializing in finance, economics, statistics, and numerous fields of science.” Imagine Alexandria Airhead Cortez explaining to the CDC how it should “control” diseases. Of course, diseases cannot be “controlled.” Whatever doctors do simply helps your God-given mechanisms do the work. (ICYMI, I am a doctor.) The Supreme Court has blessed this situation, codifying the Law of the Bureaucrat in Chevron and Auer, anointing them with the divine authority of the ultimate expert. This has created the Fourth Branch of Government, one that does not exist in the Constitution.
Fauci came into being not so much by his birthing person, but by the doddering inaction of Congress who ultimately anointed him the “Virus Czar” at NIAID. Congress declared that the Federal Government should be involved in virus research, and then declared him the smartest person in the room so they wouldn’t have to be bothered with any details. This gave him free rein to go anywhere and do anything he wanted.
A bureaucrat is infallible by definition. This corollary of the Law became Fauci’s first hit parade. Early on he trotted out a theory that the AIDS virus could be airborne, causing a pandemic. UPI trumpeted his unsubstantiated speculation, as did the New York Times. Neonatal AIDS led to a huge scare, and Fauci was a hero. His amazing intellect would guide us. The fact that he hadn’t read the paper with his name on it in the Journal of the American Medical Association was lost. HIV was actually transmitted by blood across the placenta, not in the air or by casual contact.
Two months later, Fauci reversed course, never admitting his error. After all, as the smartest man in the room, he could not make possibly be mistaken! Of course, when you tracked down his public statements, most of them were couched in “fuzzy” language, making it hard to pin down what he had actually said. But he sounded so authoritative saying it.
Ebola gave him a second chance at the brass ring. Remdesivir, his pet project, looked promising, but ultimately failed to halt the disease. Excellent supportive care allowed a handful to recover, while the deadly course of the disease in Africa killed its victims too quickly to allow it to spread. Then came COVID-19. But this story is a bit more complicated.
Remember that Fauci, as a Bureaucrat, is the smartest person in the room. He was hired to solve the problem of viral diseases. He is unable to make the mistakes we mortals make. But if by some unfortunate miracle, he found the secret cure for viral diseases, he’d be out of a job. No bureaucrat can survive that.
Since bureaucrats can never actually solve the problem they’re handed, Fauci, with his buddy Peter Daszak, started engineering new viruses. There wasn’t enough fun or glory in simply dealing with the existing bugs. We know this started as early as 2012, and he was explicit in his emails that he might create a bug that would kill millions, but he really didn’t care. He was too far above us, and “science” was too important.
The Patron Saint of Wuhan could not be thwarted. When gain of function research was officially halted in 2014, he looked for ways around it, and in December of 2017, found it in a footnote to the rule. There was a national security exception, and “science” was obviously (to him, and no one else mattered) a national security issue. As the smartest man in the room, the decision was his to make.
Since “Lord Fauci Is Science,” our Dear Leader’s word is the same as God’s. But there are pesky investigators out there who might discover his nefarious plot. Videos did get out, but fortunately no one noticed their import. And the Regent of Remdesivir could not get his fingers dirty. Instead, he funneled money through Peter Daszak at the EcoHealth alliance, offshoring millions to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where no prying American eyes would be allowed.
When the pandemic hit, Fauci was ready. He had multiple pronouncements on what we should and should not do. Since the virus was new, old drugs (think: HCQ) couldn’t possibly be useful, so he actively worked against them, likely killing thousands. But as the smartest person in the room, he could not be questioned. If someone died, it was because his prescription hadn’t been perfectly followed, not because he blocked an effective prescription. After all, no one could possibly be as smart as him.
Masks, lockdowns, and the like were blithely “recommended” while extensive data showing those measures were uniformly harmful were ignored. When they caused great harm, the CDC, in lockstep with Fauci commanded a moratorium on tenant evictions, creating new harm for landlords.
As the highest paid employee of the Federal Government, there was little of pecuniary interest left for him. But fame was a new currency, the ultimate aphrodisiac for a bureaucrat. COVID-19, when mismanaged by Fauci, was his ticket to a most exhilarating extended orgasm. The little people did not matter.
By now, I think it is very clear that the establishment of bureaucracies to fill in the blanks Congress leaves behind is an extremely bad thing. The Law of the Bureaucrat causes the corruption of people who might start out as worthy into mavens of destruction, unaccountable to anyone, because they are the smartest people in the room. Any failures in their arena are never theirs, but fall on you because you did not perfectly follow their prescriptions. Flip flops on their part are simply your misunderstanding of what they commanded in the beginning. And on…

As we come into the middle of summer, our attention naturally shifts to thoughts of our kids soon having to return to school classrooms. Unfortunately, the unelected health bureaucrats who have exercised so much power in the last year and a half have not learned much from the lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic. Inexplicably and without any scientific evidence, they continue to insist that children wear masks when in the classroom.
They show no evidence of having seen a study out of Florida showing that disease-causing organisms build up inside a child's mask after several hours of wear. Recently, JAMA Pediatrics published a study showing dangerous levels of CO2 among kids after only a short time wearing a mask. As I have noted in my book, COVID-19, A Physicians Take on the Exaggerated Fear of the Coronavirus, the SARS CoV2 virus is not stopped by the pores on typical facial masks. It's like trying to stop a mosquito with a chain-link fence.
The WHO has told us that it is rare for those without symptoms to pass COVID-19 to others. They estimate asymptomatic spread to be less than 1% of all COVID-19 cases. Dr. Fauci even said, "Asymptomatic spread is not a common driver of infection." This makes perfect sense if you think about it. Viral respiratory illnesses, like COVID-19, the common cold, and even influenza, are spread by those with symptoms — when they cough or sneeze.
We also know that children are at extremely low risk of suffering adverse consequences even if they do get COVID-19. The CDC's own data show that if you are less than 20 years old (that's the K through 12 range) you have a 99.997% survival rate. To put this number in perspective, a young child has a higher risk of dying from seasonal influenza than from COVID-19. Yet we have never closed our schools during influenza season, and we have never required the masking of children during influenza season. So we should demand that those health bureaucrats and craven school officials tell us why ineffective and dangerous masks are now needed against a less dangerous virus!
In addition to the physical health risks of a child wearing a mask, there are also significant psychological risks. We have seen a dramatic increase in anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and learning disorders directly due to both school closures and mandated mask-wearing. We also know that wearing a mask inhibits the bonding between child and teacher, as facial recognition and facial expressions are critical to the early developmental stages of a child.
The 'Silent Majority' Is Rapidly Becoming the 'Angry Majority'
Furthermore, it is estimated that greater than 80% of all grade-school teachers will be vaccinated by the fall, eliminating the fallacious argument that somehow low-risk children can spread COVID-19 to higher-risk teachers or staff. An Israeli study published in JAMA shows a very low level of spread from children to teachers.
We have been told over and over again that we must "follow the science." OK. But where is the science behind the bureaucrats' mask mandate for children? There isn't any. So where is this insistence on masks coming from? Look no farther than several of the teachers' unions. The two largest are the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers.
The masking of children is about power and control, not science. If the teachers' unions can keep parents and children in fear for their lives, they can also call the shots on everything else involving schools, from types of instruction to funding to member benefits.
Fortunately, parents have had enough. A recent survey showed kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming year down by 15%. We are seeing an even larger increase in parents who say they will home-school their children this fall. If enough parents refuse to send their kids to schools requiring a mask, the less the state funding derived from daily attendance. When money shrinks, you can bet that the mandate will fall as well.
Parents have the ultimate power over schools. They must remove their kids from those schools that do not share their values.

Scientists identified the sources for the zoonotic transmissions of recent corona viruses (SARS and MERS) within a few months. We’re at least 18 months into the spread of COVID-19 with no known natural source. Chinese scientists (CCP, really) would love to save face and adduce some bat or mandalorian :D that caused human infection but can’t – and I don’t think they will.
The lack of a natural source points to a lab leak, accidental or intentional. The CCP can’t admit to an accident – they’re perfect, right? Admitting to an intentional release would be a de facto declaration of a World War.

"I think we have enough of the percentage of people in the country — not enough to crush the outbreak — but I believe enough to not allow us to get into the situation we were in last winter."

The report outlines how the dogs “endured months of pain, and once researchers were done with them, they were killed.”

Dr. Fauci, knowing that it is a crime to lie to Congress, do you wish to retract your statement of May 11th, where you claimed that the NIH never funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan.
Fauci: Sen. Paul, I have never lied before the Congress, and I do not retract that statement. This paper that you were referring to was judged by qualified staff up and down the chain as not being gain-of-function.

When asked by host Willie Geist, Fauci said that he supports vaccine mandates for teachers and all levels of schools, including colleges and universities, referring to the India Variant, also known as the “Delta Variant,” as a “major surge” that has led to a “critical” situation.
“We are in a major surge now as we’re going into the fall, into the school season,” Fauci said without providing any evidence. “This is very serious business. You would wish that people would see why it’s so important to get vaccinated.”
Fauci then acknowledged that vaccine mandates are unlikely to come “centrally from the federal government,” but are more likely to emerge at the local level “for schools, for teachers, for universities, for colleges.”
“I know people must like to have their individual freedom and not be told to do something,” he continued. “But I think we’re in such a serious situation now that under certain circumstances, mandates must be done.”
Fauci, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and other medical authorities have been widely criticized in recent months for flip-flopping on the subjects of masks, vaccines, and other restrictions related to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. Perhaps, at long last, the deadly reign of Anthony Fauci will come to an end. That’s because The Intercept, a hard-left publication, has revealed 900 pages of government documents definitively proving that Fauci used his position to fund gain-of-function research into bat viruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (“WIV”)—and then lied to Congress about it.
Since February 2020, the wizened Fauci has been the face of the government’s response to the pandemic. In the ensuing 20 months, Fauci was frequently wrong, incredibly arrogant, and deeply dishonest. Because he was the anti-Trump, though, we were stuck with him. Democrats, especially, appreciated how he dismissed treating COVID with time-tested and affordable medicines such as Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin and, instead, insisted on masks, lockdowns, and mandated vaccines.
In July, during a Senate Health Committee hearing, Sen. Rand Paul (R. KY) directly accused Fauci of using his position to fund illegal gain-of-function research at the WIV. The Hill, which reported on the hearing, assured its readers that Paul was making “an unsubstantiated accusation.”
Fauci came out swinging in response to Sen. Paul’s accusation. “Senator Paul,” he said, “you do not know what you are talking about.” He also said, “If anybody is lying here, Senator, it is you.”
You really need to watch this and, as you listen to Fauci, remember that money is fungible and that insights gained from one area of research can easily be applied to another. Fauci’s gift of American funds made the WIV richer and better able to create Frankenstein viruses:

According to a recent report by NBC’s Shaquille Brewster, the “experts” have been shocked to discover that large crowds meeting at sporting events have not become the coronavirus “superspreader” events that they feared.
Indeed, concurrent with the massive crowds often topping 70 and 80 thousand fans at college games, coronavirus cases have declined in the same states sponsoring college football games. That includes Florida, which has seen a 64 percent decline in virus cases since the start of the football season.

In his report, Brewster noted that the “experts” who were predicting mass casualty events due to large crowds at sporting events have now come up with new reasons why the games have not become superspreader events. In his report, Brewster said that the experts attribute coronavirus-free games to the open-air stadiums, a rise in the number of people vaccinated, and a foothold for natural immunity for those who already had the virus.
The fact that these games have not turned to superspreader events has been known for a while, of course. In August, Researchers at Mass General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Georgia Tech, and Boston Medical Center had found that sporting events were not generating mass COVID infections as had been previously feared.
“The study analyzed hundreds of NFL and NCAA games, comparing games with in-person fans to games without fans in similar-sized counties, and researchers found there was no significant increase in COVID-19 cases following those games with in-person attendance in those surrounding communities,” Boston 25 reported.

According to a recent report by NBC’s Shaquille Brewster, the “experts” have been shocked to discover that large crowds meeting at sporting events have not become the coronavirus “superspreader” events that they feared.
Indeed, concurrent with the massive crowds often topping 70 and 80 thousand fans at college games, coronavirus cases have declined in the same states sponsoring college football games. That includes Florida, which has seen a 64 percent decline in virus cases since the start of the football season.

In his report, Brewster noted that the “experts” who were predicting mass casualty events due to large crowds at sporting events have now come up with new reasons why the games have not become superspreader events. In his report, Brewster said that the experts attribute coronavirus-free games to the open-air stadiums, a rise in the number of people vaccinated, and a foothold for natural immunity for those who already had the virus.
The fact that these games have not turned to superspreader events has been known for a while, of course. In August, Researchers at Mass General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Georgia Tech, and Boston Medical Center had found that sporting events were not generating mass COVID infections as had been previously feared.
“The study analyzed hundreds of NFL and NCAA games, comparing games with in-person fans to games without fans in similar-sized counties, and researchers found there was no significant increase in COVID-19 cases following those games with in-person attendance in those surrounding communities,” Boston 25 reported.

Any time one even mentions a story, data, or even VAERS numbers showing serious injury or death resulting from the vaccine, the bio-medical state lobby close their ears and shout while their censors in Big Tech label it as misinformation. But now we have it from the horse’s mouth – Pfizer’s own vaccine injury data – a shocking amount of death and injury that is likely under-reported. This means that the FDA knew from day one these vaccines were unsafe to the point that they would typically be denied authorization, and certainly not funded, mandated, and marketed with a budget and energy that have never been placed behind a product since the dawn of time.
Pursuant to an agreement based on a FOIA lawsuit, the FDA has agreed to release 500 pages of vaccine data documents per month. There is a total of 329,000 pages of documents containing the information the agency relied upon to approve the shots, but they have asked a court to give them 55 years to release them. Last week, the FDA released the first five documents to a group of scientists suing for the information, and one of them reveals Pfizer’s data on adverse events through Feb. 28. The 38-page document details the cumulative post-authorization safety data reported to Pfizer’s system during the early days of the mass vaccination campaign.
In total, Pfizer discloses the existence of 42,086 adverse event case reports containing 158,893 total events, including 1,227 deaths. 25,957 of the events were classified as “Nervous system disorders.” So for those who think that somehow VAERS is not accurate or is overreporting deaths, these are numbers straight from the horse’s mouth just through February. Remember, it is extremely hard to trace many serious events back to the vaccine, including death, especially if there is a few weeks’ lag time, and most especially with people already in advanced age. So these are just the ones that were “submitted voluntarily, and the magnitude of underreporting is unknown.”
Full stop right there. Under any other circumstance, such a vaccine would have been removed from the market right away, certainly not fully endorsed, marketed, funded, and mandated by government. It was so bad that Pfizer reveals, “Due to the large numbers of spontaneous adverse event reports received for the product, the MAH has prioritized the processing of serious cases” and also had to hire more full-time employees to handle the reporting. How was it ethical for the FDA to withhold this information from the public, and how can it ever be ethical to mandate such a shot, even if one believes that, in general, a government could wield such authority? This is especially true now that we know its efficacy is minimal at best and downright enhances the virus at worst.
Imagine if there were a third-party audit of vaccine adverse events by someone other than the manufacturer. Let’s not forget that according to the lawyer for the de Garay family, whose 12-year-old daughter suffered a debilitating injury from the shot during the actual clinical trial, Pfizer and the feds tried to do everything possible to deny that the vaccine caused the injury. This is for someone in the supposedly carefully monitored trial and this is for a 12-year-old. You can imagine how many seniors got the shots and were injured or died, yet the families never reported it because they chalked it up to end-of-life health decline or morbidity.
The time has come for Republican governors to stop denying the problems with these shots and pick up the slack of regulatory oversight where the feds have engaged in criminal negligence. It is impossible to deny the safety signals and refrain from taking investigative and regulatory actions to provide state residents with informed consent. The safety signals for blood disorders and cardiac issues alone are enormous. Consider the fact that researchers from the University of Hong Kong bluntly concluded, “There is a significant increase in the risk of acute myocarditis/pericarditis following Comirnaty vaccination among Chinese male adolescents, especially after the second dose.” Now remember that this is the only shot even approved for teenagers, while Moderna, which has a stronger dose, is banned in many European and Asian countries for those under 30.
At some point the concerning safety signals have to matter. One of the most troubling signals is the inordinate number of professional athletes around the world collapsing suddenly shortly after having gotten the shots. Israeli researchers found a list of 183 professional athletes or coaches who died suddenly this year, well beyond the normal baseline over the past 20 years. Most were very young, and 80 of them collapsed on the field. Most of the reported causes were heart-related, including myocarditis, pericarditis, heart attacks, or cardiac arrest, as well as blood clotting.
Again, if we are seeing this magnitude of disturbing safety signals and this degree of short-term deaths and injuries, what does that portend for long-term safety for millions of people? It’s one thing to not study long-term effects of a vaccine because of the imminence of a pandemic, and then we see no short-term safety problems. But now that we are experiencing an unprecedented number of short-term injuries, how can we assume this is safe long-term?
Republican leaders are happy that the courts are enjoining Biden’s federal mandate. This way they can wash their hands of having to fight against it politically in a way that will actually endure. The reality is that most large corporations will still impose the mandates because the government has removed the ultimate market-based check and balance against dangerous products by exempting the manufacturers from any liability, including for willful misconduct. This is why every Republican governor and legislature has an obligation to impose workplace injury liability on any employer that mandates the shots. They can’t have it both ways. If it’s truly safe and effective, they should have no problem applying the same standard of workplace injury liability we apply to all other workplace requirements imposed by employers.
When state legislatures convene in January, they have an obligation to pick up the slack on oversight of these shots. If they fail to do so, our Constitution will be replaced with the balance sheets of Pfizer.

Days after White House COVID-19 advisor Anthony Fauci suggested the federal government is considering changing its definition of “fully vaccinated” to include a booster dose, he indicated Tuesday that such efforts are underway.
The Epoch Times “We’re using the terminology now ‘keeping your vaccinations up to date,’ rather than what ‘fully vaccinated’ means,” Fauci said during a National Institutes of Health-hosted commentary. “Right now, optimal protection is with a third shot of an mRNA or a second shot of a J&J,” he said, referring to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as well as the Pfizer and Moderna shots, which use mRNA technology.
Fauci, who is perhaps the federal government’s lead COVID-19 messenger, made his response about the latest terminology regarding the Israeli government’s plans to administer a fourth Pfizer shot.
“We need to find out what the durability of protection of the third shot is before we start thinking about the fourth shot,” Fauci also said.

Paul began attacking Fauci for a desire to 'tear down people' before the scientist cut him off to say he was 'completely incorrect.'
Fauci went a step further and told the Kentucky Republican, 'not only are you distorting it, you're completely turning it around.'

President Biden’s chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci said in an interview that it is not clear yet if people will need yearly COVID-19 boosters, even as the chief executives of several drugmakers have indicated a fourth vaccine dose may be necessary.
"We've only recently boosted people. We will find out if the booster gives you a degree of durability of protection and actually should be the standard regimen of three doses of an mRNA and two doses of J&J," Fauci said in an interview with NBC News published on Thursday.
"Or - and it's a big 'or' right now - will we need to boost people every year or so?" he continued.
Fauci said that he while it was a good thing that the original ancestral strain of COVID-19 was used in the development of the COVID-19 vaccine - because “we were fortunate that even though [strains] were different, they were not so different that the vaccine didn't cover it well" - omicron has muddled the situation.
"We were doing quite well with a primary vaccination and a boost with delta. Then all of a sudden omicron came along," Fauci told the network. "And if you look at the efficacy against the delta versus omicron, it went down to around 30 percent."
The leading infectious diseases expert said that he wants a vaccine that would ideally be effective against all kinds of COVID-19 variants.

Anthony Fauci still insists it’s too early to say the pandemic is waning due to the contagious but mild Omicron variant.
Speaking online at the World Economic Forum, Fauci was asked if the virus that causes COVID-19 would finally become endemic in 2022. He responded by saying it’s too early to tell and that the world still appears to be in phase one of a five-phase pandemic, The New York Times reported.
“Dr. Fauci also said that the world is still in the first of what he considered to be the five phases of the pandemic. The first is the ‘truly pandemic’ phase, ‘where the whole world is really very negatively impacted,’ followed by deceleration, control, elimination and eradication,” The Times reported.
Fauci added that the only infectious human disease to ever be eradicated was smallpox but said, “That’s not going to happen with this virus.”
Further, Fauci insisted that countries needed to reach phase two, or the “control” phase, to make the virus a “non-disruptive presence” in society. When this happens, he said, the virus could be considered endemic, likening it to the rhinovirus and certain other upper respiratory infections.
Fauci also said during the event that since the Omicron variant is more contagious but causes less severe symptoms, it could help spread collective immunity, but insisted “it is an open question as to whether or not Omicron is going to be the live virus vaccination that everyone is hoping for, because you have such a great deal of variability with new variants emerging.”
“I would hope that that’s the case,” Fauci added, “but that would only be the case if we don’t get another variant that eludes the immune response.”
Fauci cautioned that the future of the pandemic is still unknown, saying, “The answer is: We do not know.”
Fauci has become a polarizing figure during the pandemic, from regularly changing his stance on various aspects of the pandemic such as masks and isolation times, to consistently insisting we are hardly better off than we were in March 2020.
As The Daily Wire reported, the frustrations with Fauci could come to a head if Republicans win back the House in 2022. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that he would investigate Fauci should Republicans retake the lower chamber.
“If the American people put us back in charge, we are definitely going to do this because we now know without a doubt that Dr. Fauci knew on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 that this thing came from a lab,” Jordan said. “The top scientists in the country were saying it came from a lab. One scientist says we got the notes now from the conference call on February 1st. One scientist says, ‘I don’t see how this can happen in nature, but it would be easy to do in a lab.’”
“And yet just in a matter of days, they changed their position, write the article that appears in Nature of Medicine Magazine, which then gets cited in the now famous letter in The Lancet, which became the gospel for the fact that Fauci can go out and tell people it didn’t come from a lab when in fact they knew it did,” Jordan continued. “The interesting thing is. We point this out. We just learned this last week, the two doctors who were most adamant that this thing came from a lab early on: one is Dr. Kristian Anderson. On Jan. 31, 2020, he says this to Dr. Fauci in an email: ‘Virus looks engineered. Virus not consistent with evolutionary theory.’ So, he knew it came from a lab.”

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul slammed a group of five Republican senators who voted Tuesday against his amendment to remove Dr. Anthony Fauci but had once voted in favor of impeaching former President Donald Trump.
“I guess I’m not surprised that Republican senators who voted to get rid of Donald Trump voted to keep Anthony Fauci,” Paul said in an exclusive statement to the Daily Caller. “Disappointed but not surprised. I think if Republican voters in their home states learn of this vote to keep Anthony Fauci, these voters will be very unhappy.”
Republican Sens. Richard Burr of North Carolina, Susan Collins of Maine, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah and Jerry Moran of Kansas all voted against the amendment.
The same group of senators also voted to convict Trump, with the exception of Moran, who criticized the former president but said he would not vote to convict Trump because it could establish a dangerous precedent.

Josh Hawley (R-MO).
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said on Wednesday afternoon that this contradiction, backed by the other witnesses, was the most “damning” thing to come out of Wednesday’s hearing — the first hearing examining the role of gain-of-function research (a process in which researchers may stitch viruses together to make a “chimeric” virus for the purpose of studying a response).
“I was told directly to my face, and the quote is there from Dr. Fauci, they had never ever funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan,” Paul told The Daily Wire as he left the hearing, referring to Fauci’s May 2021 assertion that “the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
“All three witnesses contradicted that,” Paul continued. “I think that’s a big deal because the first hearing we have had where scientists who actually look at this information [and], as informed as he is, completely disagree with him and say that the research was gain-of-function and the NIH paid for it.”

However, the pandemic shed light on some unsightly facts about the government officials in charge of our response to health crises. They are not only inept but also susceptible to political pressure in the same way that politicians are. As such, Americans are neither concerned about the latest variant nor convinced the booster would do anything about it, as evidenced by the fact that only 1.5% of eligible U.S. citizens have gotten the new and improved COVID booster, according to the CDC’s own data.

White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci cautioned Tuesday that "we should not be surprised" if a new COVID-19 variant emerges in the winter.
Speaking during an event with the USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism, Fauci said that while pandemic trends like hospitalizations were down nationwide, challenges still lie ahead.
"We should anticipate that we very well may get another variant that would emerge that would elude the immune response that we've gotten from infection and/or from vaccination," Fauci said, noting that there's always the risk of an uptick of respiratory diseases during the winter months.
Last winter, the omicron variant led to a surge in cases, and multiple sublineages have spread since then.
"Remember, we were going in the right direction in the summer of 2021 and along came delta. Then, in the winter – November, December of 2021 – along came omicron. And, since then, we've had multiple sublineages of omicron," he said.
The White House and health officials are encouraging eligible Americans to get an updated omicron-specific booster shot of the coronavirus vaccine.

They had a combined income of over $700k and a net worth of over $10M, if memory serves. Not bad for taxpayer funded jobs. New Report Details Horrifying Cost of Fauci’s Failures
In the post-pandemic period of Covid, there’s now a concerted effort to comprehend and explain the damage that was caused by our capitulating to the hysterical overreaction and overreach of the ‘experts.’ There’s a long list of policy failures to examine; mask mandates were a disaster that accomplished absolute nothing of value, but instead led to tremendous harms, many of which continue today.
Children were forced into masks for years on end, millions of people still wear masks when traveling or inside stores and restaurants, permanently convinced of the deliberate falsehood that masks are effective prevention tools. Perhaps most disturbing is that healthcare workers in blue cities are often still required to mask. Some hospitals have required masking continuously since 2020, while others are now enforcing rolling mandates based on the delusions of administrators and expert authorities.
Research into the economic cost of many of our Covid policies and mandates is still ongoing, but a new, extremely detailed report on school closures has created a horrifying context for just how damaging Anthony Fauci’s advocacy was during the pandemic.
All of Our Covid Policies Failed
The research begins with an obvious acknowledgment of the failures which occurred due to Covid mandates. Despite wildly different policies, there was virtually no difference in outcomes between countries.
“From the available evidence, it is difficult to identify the specific responses to the pandemic that led to better outcomes,” they write. “Countries clearly responded to the challenges in very different ways, from essentially no school closures (Sweden) to multiple years of closures (Uganda and Indonesia). Yet, simple statistics such as the length of school closures or overall health policies cannot explain much of the variance in outcomes.”
Lockdowns, mask mandates, vaccine passports…none of it mattered, nor does it explain the variance in outcomes between countries. Why? The obvious answer is that none of these policies had the slightest chance of preventing transmission of a highly infectious respiratory virus.
Instead, the likely explanation for variance in outcomes comes down to differences in accounting for Covid cases and deaths, underlying health and age demographics, or pre-existing immunity from exposure to similar coronaviruses, which was almost certainly the reason why countries in Asia performed much better than Western countries during the early part of the pandemic, but was conveniently ignored in favor of “experts” maintaining the wishful thinking that “mask culture” was responsible.
Regardless of the explanation, the fact that there is no consistent factor to attribute better outcomes to is in itself an indictment of our Covid policies and mandates. If it’s impossible to define why a country did better or worse than another country, there should be no justification for continued restrictions. If only someone had told Fauci or his allies in the public health establishment in 2020-2021, but instead they forcefully criticized any opposition who understood the reality, such as Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
School Closures Caused Unimaginable Harms
The researchers spent most of their time attempting to assess the many harms caused by one of the pandemic’s most inexcusable policies: school closures. And the results of their estimates are jaw-dropping.

But Florida was one of the few states, and perhaps the only large one, to make reopening schools a priority, despite the objections of teachers unions and media outlets that attempted to label the governor as “DeathSantis.”
And it’s going to pay off, relatively speaking. A figure presented in the research shows that Florida’s economic state loss in GDP is nearly equal to Pennsylvania, despite a population that’s nearly 75% bigger than Pennsylvania. And California’s estimated losses, roughly $1.3 trillion, are more than 116% higher than Florida, much larger than the population difference. Similarly, New York’s economic losses far exceed Florida’s, despite a smaller population.
DeSantis followed the actual science, listened to competent outside expert advisors, and as a result, when compared to other major states, Florida is set to massively benefit in the future. It is yet again another clear indictment of the blue states that chose to follow the Fauci blueprint into economic disaster.
And make no mistake, this is a disaster.

The researchers compared the learning loss train wreck to the 2008 recession, showing that the Covid response is responsible for substantially more damage than even that economic cycle.
“The lopsided attention to the business-cycle losses from the 2008 recession and from the pandemic is startling once we see the comparable pandemic learning loss figures,” they wrote. “The economic losses from the loss of human capital are fully six times the total losses from the 2008 recession, which was labeled the largest recession since the Great Depression.”
This is staggering. Six times the total losses from the 2008 recession, already considered one of the worst in modern economic history. All because Fauci and his band of “experts” seized an opportunity to enforce their agenda of control onto a compliant society. And also because they refused to admit failure when many were desperately trying to expose them.
It’s an inexcusable, historic set of decisions with lasting consequences both in soft cultural terms and harder economic ones. A $31 trillion loss is the loss of GDP exclusively from school closures. In the post-pandemic period of Covid, there’s now a concerted effort to comprehend and explain the damage that was caused by our capitulating to the hysterical overreaction and overreach of the ‘experts.’ There’s a long list of policy failures to examine; mask mandates were a disaster that accomplished absolute nothing of value, but instead led to tremendous harms, many of which continue today.
Children were forced into masks for years on end, millions of people still wear masks when traveling or inside stores and restaurants, permanently convinced of the deliberate falsehood that masks are effective prevention tools. Perhaps most disturbing is that healthcare workers in blue cities are often still required to mask. Some hospitals have required masking continuously since 2020, while others are now enforcing rolling mandates based on the delusions of administrators and expert authorities.
Research into the economic cost of many of our Covid policies and mandates is still ongoing, but a new, extremely detailed report on school closures has created a horrifying context for just how damaging Anthony Fauci’s advocacy was during the pandemic.
All of Our Covid Policies Failed
The research begins with an obvious acknowledgment of the failures which occurred due to Covid mandates. Despite wildly different policies, there was virtually no difference in outcomes between countries.
“From the available evidence, it is difficult to identify the specific responses to the pandemic that led to better outcomes,” they write. “Countries clearly responded to the challenges in very different ways, from essentially no school closures (Sweden) to multiple years of closures (Uganda and Indonesia). Regardless of the explanation, the fact that there is no consistent factor to attribute better outcomes to is in itself an indictment of our Covid policies and mandates. If it’s impossible to define why a country did better or worse than another country, there should be no justification for continued restrictions. If only someone had told Fauci or his allies in the public health establishment in 2020-2021, but instead they forcefully criticized any opposition who understood the reality, such as Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
