This depends on one's perspective. Mine is that more people did not want another four years of Trump so they voted for Biden because he was their only other choice at the time. I do not believe the average person pays much attention to who is/will be Vice President.

I think we have all learned a little something about the accuracy of these polls over the last few years. The numbers seem to depend on who is doing the poll and how they have structured it (mainly who they are polling). Many polls take a very small sampling of the population. One I read about recently polled about 1,400 people some of which were not registered to vote.
Much of what I read predicts some doom and gloom for Democrats come next November. One I read today, sees the house losing their Democratic majority while the Senate will gain Democratic voters. If that happens, we are certain to have another two years of Congress basically doing nothing - passing/approving no bills. The Senate does have the responsibility of approving some things on their own, such as appointments.

I've predicted that Biden resigns after the mid-terms, but a primary challenge would wound him to the extent that if he actually won the nomination, he'd go into November 2024 so damaged that the Republican nominee would soundly beat him. And if Biden loses the primary, the Democrats surrender the incumbency - a big no-no.

Thats good. IF I were a Top House Democrat I also would decline committing. I know that people in his age range are prone to mental issues. Nothing against them, it's a medical thing. A new survey shows that most Americans are worried about President Biden’s mental health following a fresh spate of public gaffes and awkward antics, leaving many to wonder if the 79-year-old should run for reelection two years from now.
According to the Issues & Insights/TIPP poll released Monday, 59% of respondents were “concerned” about the president’s mental health, with 36% saying they were “very concerned” and 23% “somewhat concerned.”
Just 39% said they were either “not very concerned” (18%) or “not concerned at all” (21%) about Biden’s faculties.
The remaining 2% responded that they were “not sure” about their level of concern.
