The fact that Brock didn't try once to bull rush him makes me think he didn't really want to win. I'm guessing he already signed on the dotted line with Vince and gave Vince a little extra cash by letting him know he was going to lose. Someone should track the large bets in Vegas against Brock. I'm guessing that all arrows will lead to Vince.lol
However fixed or not, Brock would have lost anyway...But not trying to take AO down was really suspect.

Overeem must have thought all his Christmas's came at once when he saw Lesnar was just standing trying to trade with him. Lesnar was insane not to use his own skills and go for the take down - the only area he could win the match.
That said, Lesnar has been in "showbusiness" half of his life, whereas Overeem has been fighting all his life. Wasnt ever going to be close

Brock was exposed as a fraud once and for all and was beaten into retirement. He did serve his purpose though, and that was to get the UFC a lot of new fans. Unfortunately the ufc heavyweight title will always be tainted by the unskilled, wwe wrestler who held it. Even though a legit champ now holds it (JDS), the heavyweight belt has permanently lost value and status.

Kimbo wasnt coddled and handed the heavyweight title, Kimbo was expected to start at the bottom as it should be.
Brock wasnt expected to pay his dues. He went with little to no fighting experience into a hyper-competitive organization and he was given a title shot right away.
He should have never held that title, if he had to go up the ranks like everyone else, like JDS, Cain, etc, he would have NEVER had that belt.
As it was, Dana practically handed it to him.
As far as Mir and Couture, Mir is a Can and Couture was once a great fighter, but hes waaayyyyy over the hill, so trying to argue that Lesnar didnt fight cans using Couture is rediculous. It would be one thing if he was younger in his prime, but he wasnt.
Lesnar was handed opponents he could manhandle and destroy, it was a very calculated move on Dana's part to capitalize on his star power. Unfortunatley all it did now was undermine the credibility of the title IMHO. However Im sure it made Dana a ton of money so from that angle im sure Danas decision with Brock was a smart one, and Im sure Dana would have thrown Brock away without giving a damn if Brock hadnt retired.
Like Groink said, Brock is not a fighter, hes a wrestler, I have a close friend just like him, amazing wrestler, he trained MMA for a bit with me and just couldnt stand getting hit in the face, he only showed up on the days we did groundwork. He would spar as long as it was someone he could dominate, but as soon as it was someone who posed a challenge, he had no heart for fighting. He liked wrestling because he could use his size/strength and dominate most people (including me, must have tapped me a dozen times for every 1 I got him. Although he did have 75lbs on me). Exactly like Brock.

Agreed. Kimbo is a fighter, even if he isnt good enough to fight in the Pro MMA ranks, he still had that fighting spirit.
Brock does not. And I dont think that is something someone can learn without dedicating years of life to changing themselves. IMHO, 99% of the time theyre born with it.

Brock was a division one national champ that takes way more athleticim, skill, hard work, than any bbj black belt or any of that other bullshit. I know Brock doesn't like to get hit. This is the absolute truth. Brock may have had a better run if he had been exposed to striking much earlier but we will never know now that he has retired.
In a way you can place a little of the blame on the UFC for expecting to much to soon. The UFC wanted to squeeze as much PPV money out of him as they could out of his name recognition. Worst of all they believed their own hype. Rushing Lesnar toward the title was actually the wrong thing to do marketing wise.
Let Lesnar run through a few love level fighters before he gets a shot at the title. This approach would have benefited both Lesnar and the UFC. Lesnar would have gained more octagon experience and the UFC could have really taken the time build/hyped his image and sell more PPVS. Now no one win...except Overoids
On the flip side, because of his ego; bully Lesnar probably wouldn't have agree to fight his way to the title like most fighters have to anyway, so that might just be a moot point.

There's two winner's here. Lesner and Dana White. Everyone else is a loser. How much money did these two guys make of off Lesners short career? The plan worked perfectly. Everyone bought into it and are now disappointed. I'm not gonna waste another second of my time watching that nonsense. Congradulations with Brocks success crossing over from wrestling to mma. The guy did it and got paid in full cha ching$$$$$
They could have multiply their profits many times over if they had stretched out his career just a little. Even before his disease he could have fought cans several times a year without much of a gap between fights. Fights against less qualified competition means less training time before and between fights and less likelihood of injury. Hell, giving him a couple tune up fights upon his latest return would have doubled their profits.

No one likes to be hit but they don't panic, and that is the problem here. Brock panics when hit and when you panic you lose focus and confidence. Mounting a defense/offense becomes nearly impossible when your mind is absorbed with the thought of being hit and experiencing pain.

What it comes down to is this..... In the last 2 big UFC heavyweight bouts: Velasquez vs Dos Santos and Lesnar vs Overeem. The wrestler tried to box against the boxer/kickboxer and it simply didnt work.

Yip if you dont Check the rib, outside and inside thigh kicks you are not going to last long, that shot there was a clean shin into the ab/rib section from a powerful muay thai Guy with alot of standup history behind him, checking is something that is foreign to guys without a History in Standup/muay thai, no matter how "big" and strong you are i see alot of the new guys @ the hall we are @ come in with a Boxing history behind them Really good hands and so on hard, fast punch's etc, then they want to test themselves against the other boyz and start to sparr with the Muay Thai boyz and they ALWAYS throw there arms down as a Protective "Shield" when they get kicked to the outside/inside thigh and the Rib kicks and the other guys SHIN BONE slams into the ARM with ease, just last week one of them had his Arm broken doing just that...you dont check those kicks bringing your knee up and out to the side you will go down sooner....Rather than later.

Adrenaline, takes the body a couple seconds to process and feel the pain due to the adrenalin running through the body when fighting.
I got clocked square in the eye really hard when I was boxing with friends as a teenager (enough to knock me down), I stood up, got my hands back up and about 3 seconds later my whole world starting spinning in my head and I couldnt stand up straight.
It was really strange.

This I understand, from a money/view standpoint Dana made a smart move, but as far as the sport goes, it undermined the title big time IMHO, but Dana is a moneymaker, not someone who gives a damn about the fighters or the title. Dana might be a piece of shit, but hes not stupid.
He used Brock to bring in his fans and used him as a hype machine to generate sales, he used Brocks status to steal his blind followers from the WWE. I think its a good thing Brock retired, if he didnt Im pretty sure Dana would have thrown to the side like he does everyone else when they have expended their usefulness.

Big business is never good for pure quality, but MMA passed the gates of Trumpism and is a viable dollar cow. Making money is always dirty, why should a fighter be kept when no wins are produced? The competition is so cut throat that a person behind the business wheel of things must be grinning from ear to ear - expandable talent without end for low prices.
At least Dana/Fertilitita is not like Don Kingdom, so it's all good.

He comes off like an arrogant prick on and off the screen, I think Royalty assessment is wrong, I dont believe his WWE and UFC attitude is an act. Usually you can tell when people are acting, Brock is way too good at being an asshole to be acting. Im not very social myself, but there is a difference between being an asshole and just not being a social butterfly.
