Why the funny wording when reading from the Bible?
« on: October 04, 2007, 03:58:32 AM »
I got a question:

Why do some people persist in using words like "thou", "thy", "shalt" and "speaketh"?

This doesn't make the Bible any more correct, or "holy".

The Bible wasn't written in English, so it's not the correct words anyway.

As empty as paradise

Hedge, have you heard about the former Texas governor who opposed teaching the Bible to Hispanic kids in Spanish?

According to legend, he said: "If English was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for the children of Texas."
