Nah, he's right.  I heard the kid didn't even read for the part....so how exactly did he get cast, if it wasn't for daddy?

There's a thing in the industry called packaging.
If what you say is correct, and he didn't have to read for it, he could have been packaged.
If he was, it doesn't mean it was Will Smith's doing.
