Baseball is a horribly boring sport to watch.

Does anyone actually watch a full game from their home?

Part of the problem with watching a game from home is the announcing teams have a LOT to do with how watchable a game is on tv and some are absolute garbage.

when ever a team is off to a food start i think of the 1984 tigers .. they started the season 35-5 and finished 104-58 and won the world series that year in 5 games

Also 162 games don’t help either, way too many fucking games

The Yankees have put together a roster that is powerful in all areas. Their weakest parts (starting pitchers and overall team defense) is still better than average and they have such a potent offense that they can outscore the opposition even if their pitching and defense falters.

Brian Cashman is a genius the way he has amassed some high prospects when he realized the team was out of the postseason picture and big name free agents and/or trade acquisitions was the way that The Boss always built a champion ship team. But Cashman has been able to utilize home grown talent, can't-miss prospects they traded for and the super stars to make this a formidable roster than nothing short of a World Series championship should be expected.

I am far from jumping on the Yankees bandwagon. As a matter of fact, I'm a native NYer who has always been a Mets fan. But as a sportswriter, I look at everything objectively and the Yankees are simply a great organization.

Great assessment Joe.

Cashman has acquired good to elite talent on multiple fronts, basically giving up nothing.  Making an HoF case if this team wins a few.

so you're saying that the Astros will repeat as world series champs?

40 years later, another Game 163 between the Yankess & Red Sox for the division would be fun.

Island Hebrews (the black ones)? American Hebrews no longer play in the numbers we used to so they have taken our place. Same genetically different culturally.

Boston will beat the Yanks (because of pitching) in the playoffs

Surprisingly Tanaka is pretty clutch in the post season and has pitched well, Severino hasn’t and it’ll be a test for him, CC and Gray.....but overall I think pitching will lose it for them come post season

Sonny Gray kicked ass in his last start. Hopefully he can keep that up.

My favorite Yankees team was the 1978 Bronx Zoo squad.  (Year 2 of my baseball fandom.)

I was 10 years old that year and would go to the stadium for games quite a bit. Randolph, Rivers, Dent, Jackson, etc, etc... great memories.

during Ron Guidry's 25-3 Cy Young year in '78, I was there for his 3rd and final loss of the season ... that was a great game!

What ever happened to baseball..?

Those days are long gone... seemed like so much fun, everyone was in it for a ring, teams stuck together, each team was a TEAM with their own personality whether you liked them or hated them...

Baseball sucks now and I can't watch a single inning let alone a 9 inning game.

Yet back then I would happily watch 2 sucky teams play a full game

Thx, bro. And I totally agree on Cashman being enshrined one day under those circumstances.
