The late Fela Kuti, who was like a Nigerian Bob Marley/ James Brown, he came up with a style called Afrobeat, which resembled James Brown's style of repetition. It was laced with Marvin Gaye/ Bob Marley political and social commutation. I haven't listened to his music for some time, yet stopped, but have really picked up his music as of late.
