Perfect; the steroids defence should reduce the sentence to around 46 years.

Since most average people now associate steroids with heroin & cocaine & crack, I think that might be a bad idea.

Lets look at the logic here.

Blaming steroids would at best provide a mildly mitigating circumstance behind the act, but it would be a last hope situation as it is also a full confession.

At this point in time they are clearly trying to go down the avenue that melissa james was a drug addict (and the conclusions that can be drawn using this.. overdose/thief etc).  They're not going to jeopardise this by turning around and saying "Yes I did it, but I was on drugs".  Drugs will not really get them any sympathy whatsoever.

So no, I doubt that steroids will come into it from the defense.  The prosecution may choose to use it but its hardly a necessity at this point.

Very good points indeed. I am sure that they will have a number of
avenues to take. Plus I am sure that it will also depend on the make-up of
the "Jury" as to which defense they might have to resort to.

Typical, juries are not sympathetic to “the drugs made me do it” defense because the drugs were taken of their own free will.  Plus, in order to use that defense, CT will have to admit he killed MJ. It could come into play a s a mitigating factor after he’s found guilty in order to perhaps fend off a death sentence.

Well, eventually Titus will pretty much admit his role in this.  That's when I think his lawyer will try that crap but only until then.

...maybe he'll confess that it was his wife, who was on steroids and pms-ing (dangerous combination); and she made him do it.

Legal precedent established in California disallows a
steroid rage defense.  Both Ray and Sally MacNeil
had "pro levels" of juice according to their toxicology
reports, but not a word about it could elaborated
upon to Sally's jury when she murdered her husband,
Mr. California himself, Ray MacNeil on Valentine's Day.
With the zero-tolerance law practised in Nevada,
does anyone know what the law dictates re
steroid rage arguments in the courtroom?

[You could be on to something helpful to the defense, Flylo.  To my knowledge, there HASN'T been a steroid rage defense ever attempted by a female athlete
in Nevada.  "Killer Sally" MacNeil tried and was immediately shot down in California.  Autopsies are often SO lacking in essential tests.  When Flo Jo
died in her sleep a few years ago, they didn't even test her for corpe for anabolics during her autopsy.  (I got this directly from the coroner during a related
press conference.)  It's not standard to test for anabolics during an autopsy.
So I'll be surprised if Melissa's corpse's tested for it.  I would think a female
might have more of a chance at the steroid rage defense than a male, if only because females produce 1/100 of the testesterone than a male produces, and
there are plenty of "boomers" using hormone replacement for anti-aging effects.  Because Nevada supports a zero-tolerance campaign, I'm doubtful they'll
allow a steroid rage defense to be heard.  You can't introduce it in California.
Here, it's the equivalant of arguing alcohol intoxication./quote]

Does not mean he won't use it as a defence on a murder charge.

They would have to prove..

1.He was on Steroids when he killed her.(Basically impossible)

2.At BEST...And the science is sketchy on this but at BEST AAS causes aggression in "some" users not all. Study after study either shows that it 1.Causes aggression in no users or 2.Causes aggression in a select few. So he'd have to prove that he is prone to aggression while using AAS.

All I can say is: Don't these people watch CSI? I could have done a better job covering this up than they did? They were sloppy! They are so assed out on 'roids, coke, meth, etc.

Steroids is the last thing Titus would of been using at the time he commited the crime.

Titus isn't very smart so expecting him to of pull of some elaborate crime and cover it up doesn't make sense. Afterall he made a career out of pro bodybuilding didn't he?

Even if he tries to say roids made him do it, how will he explain his weight loss before the murder. He looked like he was on crack if anything.. Or maybe he was using his own juice that he sold..
