Why would someone actually believe that stuff will be valuable one day? Even if it becomes the official currency worldwide, why would 1 XRP equal 50.000 US dollars then? lol

There is 100billion pre mined and 55billion in circulation compared to bitcoins 21million coins. 18 million which have been mined. Several million lost never to be accessed again.  XRP is going no where near 50k.
I will even place a 50k bet here with any XRP fan boy that btc will hit 1trillion market cap way before XRP.

I think he meant 50 but I think it can hit 10-20.I do agree btc will hit it the trillion first and I don’t think it will be long.

I bought at 50 cents and just under 40. Hasn't done anything at all. Hoping things turn around next year.

XRP could explode or collapse or just remain a meandering commodity, but at this point anyone who gets in is just rolling the dice- not being smarter than the crowd or being ahead of the curve. When I bought in, I  hoped it was the wave of the future and I'm still hopeful it can perform well since I bought so much of it. I just don't think there's a lot of reason to believe it will. I think people who bought in at different times than I did have a lot more reason to be hopeful.

i've read

'Now is the time to create a new kind of digital infrastructure built on the foundation of blockchain technology.'

https://www.diem.com/en-us/white-paper/

when this launches it will b backed by the US dollar... in time, leading world currencies will fall in line - effectively entangling the worlds economic systems, as it were, into a single entity... an entity.. which will, over more time.. change form.. into a solitary, absolute system of economic function.

the only system of economic function on earth.

trillions of transactions a day, going thru diems blockchain crypto system, and only diems blockchain crypto system

its a new game.

play ball - maintain some semblance of a life.

that hook, tho.. don't worry, them transaction fees will b reasonable... prices will b fair... biotech will b painless.

the illusion of convenience, at the cost of your soul.

sinister.

And then they found out you could view porn on it.  I don't see porn making a debut on cryptocoins.

2020 is the year of the end of the concept that any altcoin could ever challenge Bitcoin’s market capitalization dominance.  Although if there was an altcoin design which solved the new security, trustlessness, permissionless, scaling and other technological challenges, it might be possible with Bitcoin at some future $100 trillion market capitalization to imagine at the extreme a $1 trillion altcoin.  Even Ripple relies on trust of large stakeholders.

Very good point. The money is going to BTC. BTC's dominance is growing over alts. And the more money and energy is put into BTC and the resulting infrastructure, the more BTC's rise will continue.

Ripple, and any alt, have the problem of being controlled by individuals or corporations. They are not truly decentralized nor truly limited in supply.

participation in crypto now, accelerates the infrastructure of diem.

when the smoke clears, and these few offer the gibster an opportunity to exchange his bits for them diem dollars.. he's gonna do it.
