didn't know where to post this the FEDS are now going after Greg Anderson's wife and mother in law in an attempt to get him to testify against Barry Bonds...this has been an absolute waste of money chasing one man for using steroids...and i must say greg anderson is one hell of a friend all the crap he has gone through in and out of jail for refusing to testify i am sure he stands to collect a nice pay day sometime

Part of the problem with Barry is he's been a dick to so many people over the years. I can only imagine how he's acted towards the feds.

Note: I still think it's a waste of money to go after him even though I can't stand him.

Well, if you were in the U.S. and asked Obama, he would undoubtedly say it was the governments fault...nothing is your fault or societies because it's the governments job to think and make decisions for us. All praise to socialistic thinking, lol!

Thanks for you're concern, but i think that it's a cultural thing, i get drunk about 2-4 times a month and by Finnish and Scandinavian standards, that is absolutely NOTHING. And these days most people will want you to "convert" to something. I knew it was just a matter of time, that someone commented it on here...

I think that mostly, because i've been really bored to answer the same questions day in and day out. You all know what i'm talking about: "extremely low dose test cycles, drinking winny, how to pin etc. so mostly i have been just posting here, just because i'm getting sick of guys that haven't done any of their homework and want to be spoon fed EVERYTHING!

Actually most of my friends and family think that i'm fanatic about training and nutrition since i party so "rarely." Where i live it's really not uncommon to be drunk you're intere summer vacation. People will think that they have everything under control, when in fact they use high doses of pain killers, downers and just drink a few beer to get it all down...

Here 98% of people are against anti anxiety medication and stuff like that, but see nothing wrong with drinking a bottle of Vodka three times a week.

If i'd live in the US i'd probably would be taken to some facility to get "help" for my god awful issues...

BTW: If someone did not get "it" i was joking and it's my fault that i got drunk and i don't have any remorse, so i propably will go to hell...

Its the fault of the bar and the beer maker! LOL  ;D

Hah hah, well, since i was a bouncer for over four years in a places that would make you're head spin, i rarely go to bars, unless it's a place that i feel really comfortable in...

And it's not the fault of the beer maker, it's the fault of the companies that make FINLANDIA VODKA and JACK DANIELS...  ;D

I am TRYING!!!! TRYING SO HARD to like this new album... :-\

but, it is just like LOAD and RELOAD in my eyes...same exact delivery.

Good, but not great.

Bring back "the four horsemen", "fight fire with fire", "Orion", "leper messiah"....etc.

They did "better" this time, but they will never be what they were...never.

8)

The change they made when they did the Black Album was essentially the end of what Metallica was............

I remember when that album came out, I was still in Jr. High....

They went from heavy metal to rock..........and there was no coming back from that.

I'm not even a Metallica fan, but as a music fan, it's a shame when a band changes like that.

Reminds me of when NIN changed after "Pretty Hate Machine".

They went from a legit Industrial band, to just a cheesy MTV rock band.

It always amused me when I listened to interviews (in both of those instances with Trent and Kurt and gang) after those albums and they claimed that they wanted to take the band in a new direction, and that they had to evolve as a band and couldn't be playing the same thing forever because they had to grow...

The only reason to change the genre your band is in is to cash in on more revenue from a wider audience.  The almighty dollar always holds the truth in everything.

From a business standpoint this is totally acceptable and the only logical route to take.  From a musical standpoint, it's a slap in the face to the fans that enjoyed the band for what they were.  Can I say that I blame them?  Not really.  I just don't listen to their shit anymore :)

completely agree with this. Although I really started to lose respect for Metallica when Lars Ulrich went on the anti download campaign. This to me was a total slap in the face. Its the fans that made them rich, then they wanted to turn around and prosecute them for downloading their music. From a business standpoint I can see their point (kind of) but still disagree. Its the internet age, and music will be downloaded. more downloads = more ticket sales.

Lars lost alot of respect among the fans for that shit.

Like he's not raking in the millions as it is, he actually has to worry about internet downloads?

Metallica hasn't been relevant from a musical standpoint since the Black Album and that was years ago....

I still remember glimpsing at MTV one day in passing and seeing the whole band with short pussy haircuts and goth-type clothing...........

Since when did becoming middle-age mean you turn in to a pansy metro bitch?

The Metallica from '86 would probably beat the hell out of these guys...... ;D

So yesterday was my first day back in the gym.  I went super light and didn't do anything crazy, just took it really easy.  Did some chest and a little bit of shoulder work.  I noticed some slight soreness when doing some BNP's so I stopped and went home.  It's a little sore today, but I think that's to be expected.  Going to do some back work tonight and see how that goes.  Again, just going to take it super light and very easy.  I feel like such a slob being out of the gym for so long, really sucks :/

Don't you feel guilty being out of the gym for awhile?

I can't stand doing that.

I agree 100%

--------------------------

Sound is ripping through your ears
The deafening sound of metal nears
Your bodies waiting for his whips
The taste of leather on your lips

Hear the cry of War
Louder than before
With his sword in hand
to control the land
Crushing metal strikes
on this frightening night
Fall onto your knees
For the Phantom Lord

Victims falling under chains
You hear them crying death pains
The fists of terrors breaking through
Now there's nothing you can do

Hear the cry of War
Louder than before
With his sword in hand
to control the land
Crushing metal strikes
on this frightening night
Fall onto your knees
For the Phantom Lord

The leather armies have prevailed
The Phantom Lord has never failed
Smoke is lifting from the ground
The rising volume metal sound

Hear the cry of War
Louder than before
With his sword in hand
to control the land
Crushing metal strikes
on this frightening night
Fall onto your knees
For the Phantom Lord

Fall to your knees
and bow to the Phantom Lord

Just no way I can agree with this. The Black Album is as metal as anything they've ever done. I've said it thousands of times, there is only one reason people don't like the Black Album who liked previous Metallica albums.

The Reason:
The Black Album has better production and sound quality then the previous 4 albums...it sounds crisper because it's produced with better quality in mind. A lot of fans for reasons beyond me view this as some sort of Metallica sin.

The Album:
*Overall theme is death and fear and the conquering of those things...how is that not metal?
*Every song on the album is good IMO, but ones like Sad But True, Of Wolf & Man, Holier Then Thou...awesome and very metal songs.

Well, at least i don't, even if i'd want to. Plus, if you can truly train like that i think that you aren't training hard enough. I like to do a lot drop sets, super sets, forced reps and rest pauses. So there's no way, no how i'm going to train the same muscle group two days in a row.

Milos advocates occasionally training the same bodypart on back to back days to shock the muscles.

Never.

It would be absolutely catabolic for me to do that.

The number of descending sets and reps I do for each bodypart are more than enough.....

Lifting heavy is one thing.......Lifting heavy for six to eight sets per exercise with at least two exercises per bodypart is alot more than most could tolerate.

I'm not buying the shit you're selling, young Arnold.   :-*

I was there for the Black Album and it was a definite departure from their earlier work, softer with a focus more on the songwriting and composition of the music rather than the raw, intense feeling that defined early Metallica.

They "transitioned" to a more mainstream, steamlined sound that would play to the masses.......and it did.

I'm not going to criticize them for selling out, but I'm also not going to sugarcoat what they did.

I'm not even a Metallica fan so I have no dog in this fight.

I was brought up on Industrial, Punk and Goth.......so I'd take Ministry, KMFDM, Front Line Assembly or PIG over any Metallica from any era.

In terms of Metallica, it really depends on what you appreciate in their music.

I liked their raw aggression, displayed heavily in the "Kill 'em All" and "Master of Puppets" albums respectively.

The "Black Album" is more nuanced with more refined lyrics and a softer more at-peace James Hetfield on vocals.......

Face, it bro............those guys were pushing middle-age about fifteen years ago.

You can't expect them to hit it hard forever......

Dave Mustaine has a harder edge now than Metallica does.........and I would have never thought that..........   :o
