I left another comment on that thread, also in response to Greg Doucette's comment. Are militant vegans like this like social justice warriors, in that they have no self-awareness? I honestly don't even understand how people killing more animals than 90% of the world's population can possibly not understand that analogy, and the futility of "saving animals", simply by not eating animals, not focusing remotely on the myriad of other things that kill animals. Strange people. It feels strange reading the comments in that thread - like I'm reading the comments of cult members.
I don't understand these people. And incidentally, just so we're clear here on my own views, I have been eating much less meat in the past 4-5 years because some of the stuff that happens in animal slaughterhouses is extremely cruel, and it's just turned me off from eating meat, at least a little.
I'll put that another way: if I'm going to eat sentient beings, I would like to know that the animals I'm eating lived relatively cruelty-free lives.
But my point is - it's impossible to be completely consistent regardless of what views you have.
I'm open-minded to arguments about the impacts human beings have on animals, or on the planet in general, and I acknowledge that veganism isn't necessarily a "left-wing" thing...but the vegans posting on the video above are definitely somewhat similar to SJW's in how they talk to other people:

Regarding being a part-time vegan, it means exactly what you'd assume it means:
I'm eating less meat than ever before in my life, and when I do eat it - I'm eating less of it.
It's like calling myself a non-drinker. Technically, this is not true. What would you someone who drinks between 7-20 drinks per year? If I'm barely averaging one shot of vodka a month, and go months without drinking any alcohol at all, barring happenstance, what can I call myself?
I call myself a non-drinker, which might be interpreted by a friend to mean there would be no need to offer me a drink [but conversely, I won't turn one down - but again, what is around a drink a month? Hardly a "drinker", and enough to call myself a non-drinker.
So regarding being a part time vegan - what might they mean to a person reading it? Perhaps that I eat half as much meat as I normally would? Something like that.
It basically means that I'm eating a about 40% of the meat I historically have, and I blame Vegan Gains for that - I was compelled by his arguments, initially.
I feel differently now though... especially seeing him devolve into social justice horseshit debate tactics, and calling for the imprisonment of people for eating meat. ::)

For example, lifting vegan logic, vegan gaze, david ramms that laugh at "epic vegan memes" like the elwoods dog joke every 5 minutes or just insufferable girls like that vegan teacher, I have my own story about her but won't go into that, fuck her.) for a sense of community or whatever.
Last year I discovered vegan gains and liked some of his takes on veganism(emphasis on some, the culling carnivores and the fact that he thinks insects are not sentient is, in his own words, ReTaRdEd) and I think the only real reason I watch him anymore is because I hate him and I look for any reason to flag his streams and dislike all of his streams. He's fucking insufferable.
