I'd never turn my back on ANYONE in the service. The fact that a guy in the Navy tries to explain what's happening on the ground is nothing short of humorous.

I respect the Navy.......my father's Navy. Just don't come here and TELL ME what is happenig on the ground, when your on a ship.................... miles away from the carnage.

I don't think that Al Qaeda terrorists comprise the majority of insurgents in Iraq--that's just Iraqis fighting the US and each other: shia, sunni, bathists, nationalists, basic criminals.  It's a civil war over there.  Not a battle between terrorists and the US on Iraq soil.

we removed societal constraints.  we took away their leadership, their police, army, social systems, and electric/water infrastructure.

Can you please show the post where I was talking about conditions on the ground in Iraq? I don't recall making any such statements.

I was, however, talking about why I think we need to finish what we started so that we do not have to go back later. If that's "telling you what's happening on the ground" then I hope your skills as a trauma physician are better than your reading comprehension skills.
