Trump's political positions - Is he conservative or liberal?
« on: February 12, 2011, 11:50:56 AM »
Repubs are in love with this guy...... but he is pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-amnesty, pro-universal health care, and he's against the death penalty.  The guy is practically a democrat, let's be honest.

So... to be clear... he trashes Obama and hypes an announcement to get ratings for his show, and many of you are ready to hand him the White House keys over lifetime conservatives.  His own personal silliness aside - let's look at where he stands on the issues.

Donald Trump on Abortion
Pro-choice, but ban partial birth abortion. (Jul 2000)
Favors abortion rights bur respects opposition. (Dec 1999)

Donald Trump on Budget & Economy
One-time 14.25% tax on wealth, to erase national debt. (Nov 1999)

Donald Trump on Civil Rights
Tolerate diversity; prosecute hate crimes against gays. (Jul 2000)

Donald Trump on Crime
Capital punishment isn’t uncivilized; murderers living is. (Jul 2000)

Donald Trump on Gun Control
SUPPORTS assault weapon ban, waiting period, & background check. (Jul 2000)

Donald Trump on Health Care
We must have universal health care. (Jul 2000)

Donald Trump on Immigration
Limit new immigration; focus on people already here. (Dec 1999)

Repub and independet voters - do you want to run a Liberal-Leaning Populist in 2012?
Especially one with no foreign experience, military experience, legislative experience...

Donald Trump is a Liberal-Leaning Populist. Click here for explanation.

Am I willing to ignore his lifetime of living as a liberal, voting as a liberal, supporting liberal causes, and recent donating to liberals like Rahm Emanuel...

Because he read a speech with some points that i agree with?

No, 333386.  I am not.  He's every bit a liberal who "changed sides" this year suddenly when his team decided it would be populist and profitable to do so.  Trump seems to be in agreement with whatever position is popular with the majority of the people at the time.  i've been reading his books for 20 years and I love the guy - but he sways with the wind on things.

I'm going to put him in far middle asshole field for his comments on Ron Paul.

I would also like to ask how long it takes to do that silly 18 inch comb over?

Wonder what that looks like before he spends 45 minutes and half a can of aquanet with?

I like his positions but he has no expereience and hes a self=promoter..plus he doesn't have the patience to be president because he wouldn't be able to just boss people around to get things done

Trump supports the 'assault weapons' ban.  You do know that means he would love to take away 'at least' half of your guns, right?

But since he'll give you the other half, and he gave a speech you like - let's ignore all the rest?

IMO, trump should not be in the first 10 names of 2012 GOP potentials, neither should Palin.  They both had horseshit lib positions on things until it became popular to shift to tea party beliefs, then they capitalized on that.  They're exploiting this movement, and if the party was RINO right now, they would be too.  bachmann would not be.  See the diff?

Trump has more real world experience in one fart than bama does in his entire life.

so let's compare two liberal turds - one more qualified than the others - while actual conservatives with lawmaking, military and economic experience sit out 2012?

I think we did that in 2008, didn't we?  ;)

I haven't paid much attention to him, but I doubt he'll be a serious contender.  He has enough money to be relevant, but at this point I don't see him winning the Republican nomination.

Gotta agree with that.  If he is a serious contender, I think it would similar to a Ross Perot redux.

Perot, it turns out, was dead on about the effects of NAFTA and our debt.  Too bad it took 15 years later to realize it.

Perot stole away what should have been a GHWB second victory.

Many of you clinton voters were happy with it, but I found Clinton to be disgusting.  Bush1 or Perot would have been fine leaders - but Clinton...

well, some of our top getbig "conservatives" were Clinton voters in 92.  They helped put his silly ass into office.

And every last ounce of that experience has been about himself over everyone else.  Not sure that's the greatest idea.  Let's get Ron Paul to run again...  He's got a better chance than the epic comb over does.

I would personally pin down people while 333386 gave them Ron Paul tattoos.  Ashley whatsername style.

But, sounds like Repubs will vote with genitals or with star power.  Remember how much they loved Fred Thompson for his 'leadership'?  LMAO... an actor lobbyist who was pretty ignorant on any question asked... but his 'leadership'.... I remember the post "Thank God Fred Thompson is here - with his leadership, the GOP can't lose"  Oh brother.

meh......

brewer seems like she's not all there sometimes.  That 14-second blank stare during the debates?  you want that, one banana-peel-slip away from the presidency?  No thanks.

Just put up two boring people who have been professional and worked hard their whole life.  All this hubbub about "Let's put up a fiery/ignorant palin!" or "Gun control advocate Trump knows how to run a business (into bankruptcy twice)"....

just choose Daniels and Thune and win the damn election.  Don't make it harder than it has to be by selected to tabloid messes.
