He might have a point (many others would argue that Dr King's importance was not just in his assassination but what he did to fight segregation during his life, as opposed to Floyd who is mainly known for how he died). But Biden is a career politician and so it seemed quite foolish to risk antagonizing the black population when he depends on them for his voting majority. He got a pass on it because the Democrats needed him to beat Trump. An old white Republican saying the same thing would have triggered a huge backlash.
