When the barbers shut down during covid I bought some clippers and barber's scissors. I found out on my first try I could cut my hair as good as the hacks I find in barber shops in central Jersey. In time I found I was better than them. Now don't get me wrong. There are some amazing Italian and Portuguese barbers in North Jersey.

How do you do the back? The woman cuts mine has done for years, went to a Turkish barber for the side hair shaved afore a night out while down south recently and despite telling the stupid Turkish cunt short he still fucked it up ended up doing the sides myself back at hotel and managed fine but trying to do the back with two mirrors was a twat would like to be able to do lot myself so can do it more often

I don't scissor the back obviously. I can't see it. I use the clippers. To get a straight line on the lower back hair line my wife uses a cheap mircro touch clipper to get a clean line at the bottom. Micro touch for ear and nose hair.  I wear my hair short so the clippers do a decent job of keeping it looking groomed with just a pass of the clippers. I use a "2" in the back and transition to a "3" near the crown. Same with the sides. On the opposite of the part on the side I transition from a "2"-"3"-"4".  On top I use a "6" or more. The flip front I use scissors. Around the ears I use a scissors. The eye brows the clippers with the comb for measure trick. When finished I look in mirrors checking the back, sides and top. I then fix if needed. I cut my hair every two weeks. If you wear your hair long doing the back is going to be a problem because you need scissors. I can't see doing it myself.  I haven't tried a fade yet. I don't know if I could pull that off and I fear the first time I would mess it up. I know I could do it but it would take a couple of attempts. Truth be told so many barbers do terrible fades. Too much info, lol?

Once you learn to cut your own hair you never go back.  I've been cutting my own hair for a decade and would never go back to a barbershop.  Sitting in a barbershop with old men gossiping and clippers used on my head that 20 other guys that day had on their heads is not appealing.

One of the few benefits of being bald is not having to pay for haircuts. Every couple of days when I'm shaving my face, I shave my scalp. Lately, I've gone back to wearing a mustache. If the hair on my scalp grew as fast and thick as my mustache, I have a full head of (white) hair in a week.
