Planet Fitness
« on: August 08, 2022, 06:18:33 AM »
So need a new gym in my work location as I will be staying in an extended stay during the week. Trying to be more frugal so the question is does planet fitness really serve free pizza with a workout? Its only 25 a month and no startup fee. I can eat 25 worth of pizza a week no problem half a pizza every workout. Is it always there or just certain times is there a slice limit?

Thanks

BB

Mondays, small slices, not sure on limit - https://www.planetfitness.com/community/articles/real-story-behind-planet-fitness-pizza-monday .

Be warned that they don't like heavy lifting, and things like deadlifts.

I should have known unlimited nightly pizza for 25$ a month was too good to be true

Yep, and sometimes they'll just physically walk over and stop you, they're serious about that rule -

Truly planet fitness sucks. They don’t have bench presses at least the ones I’ve been at, dumbbells stopped at 70s for insurance purposes, curl bars only go up to 60, people walking around making sure you don’t train to hard. But if nothing else around it will do the trick. I’ve been to a couple on vacations and that’s just what I’ve seen going back a few years though.

Yes, and if some of the stories are true, B. Hank could set it off just for being in shape.

$25/mo for Planet Fitness seems overpriced.

Bhanky, I thought you said your employer has an onsite gym?

For 25 bucks and the way you train it should be fine.

Why don’t you tell us where you are working so we can help find you a nice hardcore gym.

Just pay a day pass for a legit gym.  You are not on the skids and should not disgrace yourself in a place like Planet Fatness just for pizza, bagles, and candy.

Those muffins and sugary fruits and cereals won’t get you too far

Planet Fitness here is only $12 per month.

Bhanky,

Does you new job not come with wellness benefits? i.e. a certain  $ amount each year for a gym membership, ergonomic chair etc?

Front what I know/have seen, this gym franchise is for the (homo) birds.

Prime likely belongs to one.

planet fitness near me is only 10 a month, 25 if you want all the benefits including massage chairs use

they don't serve pizza or any food either...

dumbbells end at 75 pounds, ez-bar and regular barbells end at 60/70 I think..

Yeah actually looking at one of those makes it a lot easier in the am to have breakfast at the hotel vs finding something

I walked in a local one, my wife wanted to have a look for her and the kids when I went back into the office for a while (years ago) and joined a "Crunch" near work.
(The local "Crunch" was actually excellent, it closed during the great scamdemmik).

The guy working (at PF) basically said "this gym is not for you" when looking me over. He didnt want me to join.

When I told him I would never, I was just there with her, he looked very relieved.  LOL

Brian, they are 10.00 a month over here, maybe the price went up in some locations??
