While serving his sentence at a Minimum Security Federal Prison Camp in Lompoc, Craig met up with a person named Wayne Dennis and became friends. Wayne himself was serving a long sentence for counterfeiting some $15 million dollars, and now that he has written a book about it, wants to contribute some of the earnings to Titus' legal defense fund. Here is a story for Getbig.com when they were at Lompoc Prison, and more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Count time, Gentlemen! Stand at your bunks and shut your mouths. It's count time! Count time! Titus and I stand there looking at the guard with anger in our eyes as the power-monger gives an equally-angry look back.
"They think they're so cool, I'd like to kick their ass," I smirk over at Titus.

"Yeah. It wouldn't take much. They think they can say anything they want."

"What sucks is that they're going home tonight to a comfortable home and a warm soft wife -"

Titus laughs, "Probably some skanky prison guard wife with only two teeth and a big fat cellulite ass, and she's got some cheese burgers and fries and a shake on the table to see if they can get even fatter," I laugh even harder.

The guard points at each of us, mouths the words, "shut-up," and he mumbles the numbers thirty-seven and thirty eight. We have nothing to do but wait until dinner is called.

"Chow time, Gentlemen! Go get your chow!"

Titus and I engage in a speed-walking match with the other hundred and fifty inmates as we try to get to the chow hall first to get to pick the best foods available. Chicken breast and salad are our target foods. The guards treat Titus and I better since we're the hardest workers at the Lompoc prison and, as a result, we often get larger portions of food.

You see, Titus is the muscle and I am the brains at the Lompoc Maintenance Shop. We're always laughing and poking fun at our C.O. (Correctional Officer) James Buchannon. He has a good sense of humor, but he also depends on myself and Titus to make him look good in front of the Warden.

"Titus… Dennis, get your asses out back and get the asphalt cutter and the chalk line and the water hose. I gotta fun job for you two clowns today. Get the truck and get to the C.O. housing. You're gonna cut a trench for a new water line you're gonna run tomorrow. The Warden is pissed about the leak he drives through everyday. I'll see you there in a half hour to show you where to cut."

We give each other a look of discouragement as we know the difficult and dirty task which lies ahead of us. But I know Titus will make it fun with his comedic ways. While we're there on the residential street at nine am cutting, Titus removes his shirt to show off to any lonely C.O. wives who may be watching through their kitchen windows as we work.

To spice things up, Titus asks me to take the tending water hose and make like I'm whipping him in a seductive way as he arches his back and wiggles his butt. We find it difficult to work as we laugh so much we almost fall to the ground in tears.

It's lunch time and we have early-chow privileges due to our importance to the institution by saving them money from not hiring outside contractors; after-all, we've built complete communications buildings with class A foundations and walls; which are impenetrable, even with a jackhammer. We've completely rebuilt horse stables for Vandenberg Air Force Base. We continually build fences, patios, sidewalks, fix machines and everything else that breaks during many abusive years of weather and inmates who just don't give a damn about taking care of the equipment they use. So because of this - that buys us special food privileges such as extra chicken breast, extra egg whites, extra fruits and veges, and just about any other food we so desire.

A couple of days later, once the Warden's roadway and water line is repaired, Titus, myself, the C.O. boss, and some wanna-be-gang-banger-bank-robber, head to the California hills in order to remove a communications tower and crane it away. Titus and the boss end up screaming and running from a swarm of bees. After ten minutes of sprinting and puffing, they finally escape unharmed to help finish the job. We spend several hours dismantling the tower. Titus then operates the crane and picks the huge 60ft' tower from its platform and lowers it onto the flatbed I drove up the dirt and grass-covered mountainside.

The day is over and we prepare for the weight pile. Nothing like lifting weights with rusty bars and plates while laying on a rain-soaked benches. Flies buzz our faces then, land on our necks, ears and arms. It really sucks. The inmates continually bombard Titus with muscle-building questions and he always… always takes the time to help with a smile on his face and patience in his heart. Even in a prison environment Titus is a champ… a real good human being. He adds a lot of humor to the weight-pile environment with his jokes and comical antics.

After the workout we head to the Law Library for the last productive effort of the day: working on my newest book, "The Counterfeit Millionaire… a true crime adventure." Titus likes the story of rags-to-riches-to-prison. He marvels over the $15 Million I printed in $20 Federal Reserve notes. He reads the chapters and offers me praise with occasional constructive criticism. He questions me a lot and I answer back with bravado. We talk awhile and I type more. He reads a few pages and offers more praise.

"Hey man," Titus says with a tired sounding voice. "I'm beat. I'm gonna hit the bunk. Check you tomorrow at the shop."

"You eat'in breakfast, Craig?"

"Oh yeah. See you at the chow hall, then. Hey, dude, bring some of your cinnamon from Baker Bob. I need some for my oatmeal, okay?"

"Always do. See ya, Dude. Sleep tight. Don't let your Bunkie bite," I laugh.

"Get outta here," he cracks a smile. Craig Titus always had something nice to say. He always had a smile on his face and a good-natured attitude… even when the chips are down in prison. He often had women visitors who pleaded to come see him on Saturdays and Sundays. And after his visits and a little making-out with his groupie visitor, he'd head straight to the weight pile. All in all he was a model inmate and good friend. It's safe to say that everyone liked Titus. The few that didn't like him were likely jealous of his popularity and physique.

Titus was a hard worker and, although our work was for the prison, he took pride in all the labors he was asked to perform. He always loved The Counterfeit Millionaire story and it's a shame that he may not be around to see its success; especially when it airs on National Geographic Channel this early summer. I hope he doesn't have to watch this documentary from a prison cell like we did in the past. But we can help him with the book in an ironic manner. This is where he needs all of our help because I strongly believe he needs the best legal representation he can get at this point in his life.

If each reader of this article logs onto http://www.counterfeitmillionaire.com and purchases the paperback book, I, The Counterfeit Millionaire himself, will ensure that fifty-percent (50%) of the profits will go towards Titus' legal defense fund. I'd give more but I made many public promises of donating ten-percent (10%) of every book sold to go towards purchasing new recreational equipment for underprivileged schools and school children so they can stay healthy and active in an enjoyable way.

With your help… if we can sell one million (1,000,000) books of "The Counterfeit Millionaire," and I reiterate, will donate a full fifty-percent (50%) after taxes, to Craig Titus' legal defense fund.

For anyone who has ever known Craig Titus, or ever cared about him, or thought good or bad about him… come-on folks… as fellow body-builders we cannot let him go away forever. Wouldn't it be nice to continue to see his antics on stage, or see if he ever wins a Mr. Olympia? By purchasing a personally-autographed copy of "The Counterfeit Millionaire" you will not only help save the life and career of a very genuine, down-to-earth, fellow body-builder, kind human being, but you will also help thousands of children enjoy a smoothly-paved road to better health. Go to your computer and log onto http://www.counterfeitmillionaire.com. Oh… and you'll enjoy the story as well. Thank you and best of wishes.

Thanks,

Wayne Dennis

Oh boy...Wayne has no clue whats in for his "little buddy" Craig...this ain't no Lompoc minimum Security shit.  Craig thought he had prison all figured out based on this, huh?  He don't know shit.  He's gonna get it all figured out real quick once he's sentenced though.   The guys will explain it to him by week one!  But I don't think he's gonna have a smile on his face and a warm and fuzzy heart...

I'd like Craig sent to Rikers Island for about 10 years and see what all of the guys think of him there

Let's all go out and spend our hard earned money on this scumbag, homo counterfeiter so he can help himself and a murderer...come on guys..what are we waiting for?

ESP aka Ely State Prison (the most likely home for Titus if he is convicted) ain't no Lompoc Country Club. Sure, all prison sucks, but the 18 months or whatever Craig did for the Feds, was absolutely the easiest time you can do.

Ely ain't Gladiator School, but over 20-25 years it will break you. Craig better hope his lawyers can plead to manslaughter or something other than murder 1.

Oh...  the Wayne Dennis & Craig Titus love affair sounds beautiful. I'll skip the book and wait for the movie.

Let me get this straight, Dennis wants the BB community to buy his book so that we can all help pay for Titus's defense? BLAHHHAHAHHA!!! ::) ::) ::)

Titus has been living the high rollers life for years - big houses, fast cars, fast women, BB contracts that pay him to screw around.  and now, he murders a young girl and we are suppose to help? ::)

WOW what a commitment by this guy.  SO to date the book has sold 75 copies at most so Craig has enough to buy the morning coffee for 2 days for his attorney.  Man he is on his way to freedom!

I just ordered 100 copies of Wayne's book. Hopefully, Craig will upgrade attorneys to Robert Shapiro with my help....

Wait a sec...did I just trust a convicted felon who prints counterfeit money and passes it off as real to donate 50% of my purchases?? Damn, I can't believe I fell for that.

I know a guy who did 2 years at Lompoc.  He's a scrawny dude and claims that although not pleasant, by prison standards it is a cake walk to do your time safely.  Craig is going to go to a MAX or Supermax facility for this crime and his only chance of survival there is the Aryan Brotherhood.  If he decides to try and go it alone, he will not survive, I guarantee it.

So what do you reckon would happen?

they will kick Craig's ass so bad he'll be cryin' for momma...they will wipe that arrogant smirk off of his face in the first night.
Do ya think Craig's sucka punch talents are gonna work in a supermax prison where even the little gang bang bitches can cut his ass up without blinking an eye....forget about the murderers who at least killed other men, not women who they tasered, strangled, shot up with drugs, burned up....
I could go ona and on but what's the point...we all know what's gonna happen...and yeah he better join the Aryan Brotherhood if he can before his lights get put out

Though I never been to jail, I too believe if Craig thinks he is going to go into a REAL prison and act bad he is in for a rude awakening.  He is not some monsterous mega crimminal who has a bunch a guys outside the walls to threaten people's inside the walls family if they touch him.  He is not a physically scary guy.  He is a short big mouth punk whoat one time had some muscle due to steroid abuse.  He is a punk in those guys eyes in the prison and his mouth could get him in trouble.  I know.. i saw Longest Yard 3 times and the Green Mile at least 10 times.

If Titus is convicted on one of the heavy charges (murder) he should do OK in the Joint. He'll be just another guy convicted of murder, no big deal, and as long as he's cool, he'll be fine.

As far as joining the AB (Aryan Brotherhood) he would be wise to pass IF the offer is presented. All validated AB are in SHU (security housing unit) programs. Doing life or even a few years in the SHU sucks. I mean it really sucks. Main line aka general population is the way to go. The AB option is highly unlikely anyway. You really need a history of extreme racially motivated violence to be even be asked to 'prospect'. There are plenty of young (18-22 yr old) gangsters to act as muscle. Titus would have little to offer the AB... in my opinion.

Just my $0.02.

You are so wrong......Craig will be guilty of torture, murder, drugging, strangulation, burning the body of a young woman.......he's gonna have alot of enemies in prison (on top of the ones he'll make just being Craig...white, arrogant, thinking he's a big guy).  His only hope is to get special housing.  Otherwise, the other inmates who have a "problem" with guys who abuse and kill women are gonna rip him a new one...literally
He better be real low key and just keep his eyes wide open at all times...the one time he tries to make some guy down with his big blustery attiude, he's gonna get his head handed to him....
All this other "jail time" he did was just play ...this is gonna be the real deal

Oprah"s clone will have on today's show Craig Titus, the author of "A Million Little Reps", his memoirs of his serving time in prison, and his life story that lead to his imprisonment. Along with him on the show will be his wife "Gary" that Craig met in prison.

Since the his release, the New York Times best seller has been optioned for a movie, and a serial/comedy on the ABC/iPod Network. The weekly  show will be based in a Venice Gym, and the story line has Craig dealing with madcap bodybuilders, and other hilarious bodybuilding storylines.

Reoccurring guests that have expressed interest are Shawn Ray, Dennis James, and his ex-wife Kelly as "The Beaver".

ANYONE who has actually done serious time in a high-security facility vs. rampant speculation?

He might qualify for segregation like some other higher-profile cases.

Once he's in The Big House (if he is convicted) he'll be just another murderer. The fact that he killed a girl means nothing. The arson charge will mean nothing. The kidnapping charge is meaningless. He'll be T-47251 aka Craig Titus. His magazine covers will mean nothing. His past girlfriends (hot fitness babes) will be a point of conversation, but basically meaningless.

I should add, my expertise is based primarily on California prisons (Tracy, Quentin, Susanville) with a bit of misc Federal stuff (MCC Dade County) thrown in.

After a year  or so, Titus will be just another convict.

With three quarters of the inmate population either black or hispanic, and the majority of those cons affiliated with a gang, I don't see how you think Craig could go it alone in general population.

He's cool with the brothas and down with the Brown - he'll be able to hang.

Of course, then the White guys will be pissed at him for selling out.

Hmm, it stands to reason that he wants the book to sell as many copies as possible, but I bet he'd be thrilled with 999,999 sales, because that would free him of having to make a donation, eh?

Although the article is nice and flowery, I don't have any reason to believe this guy and he's got every motivation to lie.

Absolutely..where Craig is going ain't no club Fed - 18 mos on a golf course aint nuthing compared to at least 15yr in State - size don't mean squat neither - there's a saying behind those walls -  you don't have to stand tall - you just have to stand up...I'm sure he can handle himself - although everyone's watching and someone is going to test his ass..if he plays it right from the gate his rep will be clean and from then on it's up to him to keep it that way..everyone should be innocent until proven guilty and although it ain't looking good for him right now, we'll have to see it out before judgement is passed. Craig - stay away from them busters and get your mind right, cuz it's gonna take something much higher than you to keep you going thru your time. Does anyone else think this guy Wayne Dennis' recollection of his time spent in prison with Titus is a little too grandiose? Sounds like he's embellishing what they did and who they were.

Apparently they were the most important inmates and were given favor by the CO and guys handing out food. They were also master builders that saved the prison millions because their work was so good.

Sounds like bullschit. James Frey meets Wayne Dennis.

Human nature being what it is, I'd predict that Titus will become a leading force within the prison population.  He will once again obtain steroids and he'll once again become extraordinarily muscular.  He'll easily be the most impressive person in the weight area, and, frankly, that's the sort of thing the prison-types are forced into respecting.

The Order (AB, whatever) will essentially 'adopt' Titus through offerings and servitude, and a formal acknowledgment of acceptance won't be necessary.  They'll make it very clear where they stand with him.

I wouldn't call prison a 'lucky' place, but he's going into an environment where physical muscle immediately transforms into political muscle.  It's the law of the jungle.

It'll be a far cry from Easy Street in Las Vegas, but it's not going to be like burning brimstone, either.  And, frankly, you can bank on the white organization's interest in Titus.

By the way, I'm hardly sticking up for Titus.  I'm just being realistic about his future at ESP.  I'm very unhappy about his actions, just like everyone on this board.

Guys he is 5'9" and will probably weigh about 190 or less when he gets to prison.  I have to tell you he is not going to be an imposing figure.  He will barely measure up to the oriental gangs in there.  He should maybe put some clear tape on his eyes to pull them back so he can hang with them.

I wouldn't call prison a 'lucky' place, but he's going into an environment where physical muscle immediately transforms into political muscle.  It's the law of the jungle.

ha ha ahhahaha hahahahaha haahhhahhahhahhahhahahah ah hweeheheheheehehehe

being muscular doesn't mean shit.  The bigger they are the harder they fall

You know I always found that statement unusual.  I have had some people say that around me, never to me.  But my retort was always. "The bigger they are, the harder it is to make them fall".  Plus, when they fall just make sure they don't fall on top of you.

It means a whole damned bunch to the average man in prison.

SCENARIO:
You're a dumbass musclehead shrinking by the minute without your stash, going into prison thinking you are gonna impress somebody who is about to shank your ass???
Are you fucking kidding me?  You have to know how to survive...muscles doesn't mean shit.  Once you know how to survive, if you can learn and keep your mouth shut, then working out can add to the feeling of security.
But if Craig thinks cause he is some "halfway" large bodybuilder, that guys are gonna stand back in awe...then he is still dreaming of his days in Lompoc

THE BIGGER THEY ARE THE HARDER THEY FALL....you have a guy who thinks he's the shit ONLY because of his size, he can't fight (sucka punches don't count), is afraid to stab anybody, won't pick up a baseball bat...but he's big so noones gonna bother him, right?
WRONG!!
I have seen big guys get laid flat by guys half their size because the big guys also had big mouths but nothing to back it up
This doesn't apply to someone who is muscular but knows how to keep his mouth shut, fight, and isn't scaaaaared

I hope you guys understand I am not talking about being big in prison when I said what I did.  Believe I know that size won't mean shit in prison.  What is takes is the mind of not giving a shit.  A small guy is very dangerous if he just doesn't care what happens to him.  Hell anyone with that mindset would be dangerous.  I just mentioning my experiences.  I have been hit quite a few times in fights and nothing.  I have been blindsided a few times and nothing.  When a guy punches me anywhere on my body.... nothing.  I was always one that could fight.  I trained that way.  I was flexible and very quick for my size.  Endurance was another issue though.  But only once in my whole life did a fight last more than just a few seconds.  I did get in a fight with a guy in Palm Springs who was at least 6'6" 250 or so.  And we just went at and nothing.  We both ran out of gas and just quit.  We ended up hanging out with each other and going to clubs with the rest of our friends.  But, if you have a guy who is more muscular and stronger than a smaller guy and can fight too, then sorry I have to give the edge to the strength and size.  A big guy if he is good can easily grab and never let go of a smaller guy.  You simply take him and run him full speed into the wall and you'll see the little guy fall and not get up for along time.

VERY well said.  Most fights also end up on the floor.  Unless one of you has a knife.  Stabbing is best accomplished while on your feet.  As the brothers will do when they hunt down Craig on the yard and put 20 holes in him in about 8 seconds.  That should be about the right punishment for accepting an honorary membership in the AB.

No.  They'd only dare to do that *without* the AB association.  It's the entire point of prison, my friend. :-)

He doesn't look 190 in that picture and Craig with a clear mind is not a stupid man, he knows what is necessary and I'm sure he will do ok in prison.  More than likely he will end up in somebodies corner.  Who wouldn't want someone imposing as a minion?

A large man with no prospects of release - his likely outcome means he won't be an easy mark and people will probably think twice about starting shit for the fun of it.

Like I say, he's not stupid.. drugs may have contributed to a loss of judgement but the crushing reality of this whole situation has undoubtably laid any of that to rest.

SIGH

Craig's bravado was great with little flunkies at the gym, guys he could sucker punch, etc.
That world is called SoCal/Vegas playground.

His world will be filled with guys who don't a rats ass about his dwindling muscles or his stories of how Big & bad he was when noone was lookin'.

If Craig just reaslizes he needs to keep his mouth shut until he earns some REAL REPSECTS from the inmates that can kill him, then maybe he'll be able to live a decent life.  meaning he won't be somebodies bitch.

Have any of you ever been in prison by the way, or is your opinion that Craig is gonna be BMOC all just speculation from watching OZ and shit?

Steroids are the most commonly available type of drug in prison.  Titus' muscles won't be dwindling for long.  As much as you'd like to see prison become a pile of burning brimstone for him, it's just not the complete reality of the situation.

Like I'd said in a previous post: For those who want to see Titus suffer, you can find delight in the fact that prison will be quite a nasty downgrade for him versus the Vegas lifestyle he'd become accustomed to.

Quote
After a year  or so, Titus will be just another convict.
I'm in violent agreement with you, Tommy.  His past will be meaningless
except to those who don't like him for CURRENT reasons--staff and prisoners alike--and are looking for a reason to compound their loathing. (The prison he's heading for is already preparing for him; reading the papers, forming an opinion.)  The fact he's served time in Lompoc, a "soft" facility that boasts a 9-hole golf course and other amenities designed to pamper gentle non-violent criminals--it's actually surrounded by FLOWER FIELDS--will make it extremely difficult from Craigto adapt to the rigors of a real prison.  If convicted, the option of CONJUGAL VISITS with his wife will most likely be not possible.  As far as being put in segregation, although the Manson girls and many other celebrity criminals are doing just fine out on the mainline, if Craig's behavior continues to INFLAME others, he might be BEGGING to be put in Isolation, the Psych Ward (for "suicide watch"), the Hospital or SHU.  No, we're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.  Alas, suicide might indeed proove a pleasant fantasy for this intensely fiesty man.  I certainly wouldn't want to cell with him.  Howabout you?

I am familiar with Clarke County where they are. My friend did time there [dumbass got caught smuggling marijuana from Mexico] and I used to visit her.

Craig will make out fine in prison, well as fine as you can be in prison.

Bodybuilding is more popular in than out with both cons and guards. Some prolly know who he is. He would be a bit of a 'celebrity' behind the walls. Like Palumbo said, even the guards were up on him for training advice. Craig is prolly on that boat. Plus, size matters not that much in prison. It is mentality. I doubt Craig went in acting like a pansy. Plus, he has been there before, albeit federal, so he knows the ins and outs of life behind the walls.

As far as Kelly - she is prolly doing okay. My friend is like 90 lbs, 5 ft tall [literally] and she had no problems. Can't say she enjoyed her stay, but she had no drama with the girls. She actually made some good friends in there.

Also, remember what you did reflects on how the other cons will treat you. If they had killed a kid, child abuse, molestation etc...that would be a big problem. Murder to other cons is kind of "okay"
