Just Curious.....  which party had their president in the white house when the most costly and tragic attack on American soil occurred?

Perhaps you can refresh all our memories about the competence of the republican controled defense approach that day.

SNOOORRRRRREEEE

When was the plan executed?  1 year and 9 months into Bumbling Bush's tenure.  1 year and 9 months into Bush's "great" leadership.  1 year and 9 months into the republicans great leadership.

You see, MM, i'm not so brainwashed to think it would have been any party's fault.  It could have happened in the Clinton, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon etc.. years.

However you and your neo-con buddy are so brainwashed you actually believe our home land defense has something to do with what party was in the white house.

How naive.

But then again most neo-cons are very simple minded naive and easily manipulated.  Hail BUSH!  Evil Libs!

Get a brain.

I don't blame Bush for the attack.  I never would.  US foreign policy is to blame.  US foriegn policy that is driven by capitalism/and support of Israel....something that involves both parties.

Don't confuse that with me blaming the USA.  Becuase i'm not.  What happen was, is we messed with radicals.  That what happens when you mess with radicals.

Huh??

He was in office for barely 9 months and this is another reason why it's totally insane to even remotely believe that conspiracy theorists blame Bush and his administration!!

9 months. and you know how easy it is to just switch powers that quick  ::)
usually the first year or two of a presidency is just getting your feet wet. look at history no president has done anything in the first year. the transfer of power is still taking place

If the attack had occured in the 3rd year of Bush's Presidency would it be under his watch then?

Face the facts, no matter when it happened it wouldn't have been stopped. Bush wouldn't have stopped it, no one would have stopped it. Democrat or Republican, it doesn't matter. We wouldn't have been prepared to defend that attack no matter who was in office.

Placing the blame on one party is fruitless. Our weakness in security was everyone's fault.

I totally agree and the way it looks it's inevitable that we WILL get hit again and it sucks no matter who is in office!!

I think the 19 men, and their leaders, are to blame.  I doubt there is any foreign policy position we can take, other than 100 percent isolationism, that would satisfy terrorists.  And even that might not work.

yes at this point no.  We can't get out of this.  But in the eyes of most of the world we were very justified in invading Afghanistan.  Even blatant radicals would have had problems denying that.  But we got greedy and lost credibility in the eys of the world by invading Iraq.  And now we have made a very big mess of things.

Who is responsible?

the man at the top:  BUSH.

Neoconservatism is a political movement, mainly in the United States, which is generally held to have emerged in the 1960s, coalesced in the 1970s, and has had a significant presence in the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.

The prefix neo- refers to two ways in which neoconservatism was new. First, many of the movement's founders, originally liberals, Democrats or from socialist backgrounds, were new to conservatism.[/b] Also, neoconservatism was a comparatively recent strain of conservative socio-political thought. It derived from a variety of intellectual roots in the decades following World War II, including literary criticism and the social sciences.

Irving Kristol,[1] Norman Podhoretz[2] and others described themselves as neoconservatives during the Cold War. Today, however, the movement's critics use the term more often than supporters [citation needed]. In fact, some people described as "neocons" today say that neoconservatism no longer exists as an identifiable movement.

Many associate neoconservatism with periodicals such as Commentary and The Weekly Standard, along with the foreign policy initiatives of think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and the Project for the New American Century (PNAC). Neoconservative journalists, pundits, policy analysts, and politicians, often dubbed "neocons" by supporters and critics alike, have been credited with (or blamed for) their influence on U.S. foreign policy, especially under the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.

Thanks.  That's what I suspected.  I said in an earlier post that people use the term as a "dirty word" to describe conservatives the way conservatives successfully tainted the word "liberal."
