I have manual windows and no seat belt boinger. It's fucking great.

When I bought my Lexus I asked them to deactivate all the beepers and buzzers and dingers. They looked at me like I was insane  ;D  I did find an online guy who told me how to do it.

It’s an SUV X5.

Plenty of good qualities. That auto shutoff feature is just absurd.

It can be disabled, however it must be disabled every time you start the rig.

It can be programmed to stay off in the software. I did something similar on my 2023 Rav 4 but I decided to hardwire the shutoff.

Funny we’re all disabling this shit that we don’t want but we’re paying for it.

I never had issues with the couple I've had. Could've been luck, but I also don't have a lead foot, and beat them up either. But they are cars that you shouldn't have if you live paycheck to paycheck.Having something go wrong could cost you 1,000 or more to fix, but that isn't terrible for a car like that.

It isn't a Ford Focus.

Oh the irony….. you live in your car and will die in your car

Where is the reading comprehension..... ???

I slept in my car for a few weeks at the beginning of 2023. It was definitely not fun, but I am not homeless.

All three of my Mercedes since 2015 had this option.  You can usually find a way to turn it off.  Some have it on their menu sub systems.   Some have a button on the console.  Look it the User Guide or online.

I've heard BMWs are maintenance nightmares.

Complicated and over-engineered which makes them expensive to repair.

Those and Maseratis.

Those and Maseratis.

Pretty much all European cars. There’s a reason why they are leased, and worth jack shit in a few years. Complete garbage unless you have “collectible” rare models

Let me guess, you have a 2014 Accord or Camry 4 banger that you’re squeezing 250K miles out of. No thanks.

Buy a diesel truck, it doesn’t have this silly option.

Idk man. Euro V and VI emissions regulations make for way bigger headaches than gasoline engines. EGR to dust the engine, expensive DPFs that seem designed to fail, and SCR systems that are a big initial outlay and an ongoing tank and maintenance cost. I know tons of guys who have had issues with new diesels.

My next truck will probably be an Isuzu with EGR, and a remapped chip so that it doesn't have EGR anymore. But then you're living a life of crime. No shit. If I was buying a pickup or a car I'd get a gasoline engine.

Maybe the US doesn't have Euro emissions requirements. They're a royal pain in the ass. I'm tempted to just stay in my year 2000 forever or buy pre 08 if I want something bigger than my NPS.

Im in the states. All of my trucks, when out of warranty have the egr deleted and dpf gone. Same with my heavy equipment. Have your vehicles registered in a state with no inspection regulations, for me right over the border, or just find someone who will overlook it or hide it yourself. Or buy a glider kit.

Our old 2014 BMW Diesel actually had this option.

Why don't you read the manual instead of writing this totally useless thread?
