I have never carried a pocket knife except as a Cub Scout and that was decades ago and a rare occurrence, believe me, LOL!  I fall too much now to carry anything except my keys and I don't walk with them in my  hands.   Two of my brothers are both gun and knife enthusiasts but dad never really let the family 'tard carry anything that could harm me, especially something sharp like a knife. For  more than a few years I even had my food cut for me.   :-[

I actually found a really nice Gerbert Covert Auto in a parking lot here 2 years ago which I still have and occasionally use and keep in the car. I don't carry it with me though. Honestly I usually use it to clean out a bowl as it is nice and pointy. Guys who carry knifes around all the time in their pockets have issues you don't need a knife in the grocery store.

Spyderco red Endura, Victorinox Farmer, Bulldog Calf Roper ( http://c0836982.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/709932_e37c5caa-6158-46b3-b2b0-e7195bf17123.JPG ), depending on what needs to get done. Now it's mostly the Victorinox or the Calf Roper. They don't scare people and both are plain edged, which I find more useful.

I got a Puma knife when they were made in Germany.  I don't know where they are made now. I think I paid $80 bucks for it and now they go for around $140. It holds a good edge.  I don't carry it for a weapon.  I carry a handgun for that.

I carry one when I'm working abroad, along with a Leatherman. Used to have a SOG SEAL pup, which I really liked and may purchase again. Right now it's a cheap lock knife but I'll upgrade to another SOG or ESEE 4 when I'm home for the holidays. Prob not worth going too deep down the rabbit hole with these things unless you're really relying on it.

Where 'abroad' !?.

Just bringing Swiss Army 1 to the airport = lock up !.

Mainly conflict zones. Currently in Middle East. In my experience, you can get almost anything through most airports if it's in your hold luggage. Obviously don't take a knife in your hand carry.

You can have a Swiss Army multi tool in yours pockets on the streets of Istanbul or Lebanon !.

Every airline & airports have a list of prohibited items , it's 2021 not 1999 !. Inform yourself !.

You can buy drinking water @ the airport , but you will NOT take 1/2 L of liquid on the flight !.

Detectors & 360 degrees  body scanning is on all airports !.

Try to bring a Spyderco on airports like Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney,...........   ;D ;D ;D

Again, it's 2021  ;)

Can you read, you fucking moron? I've literally just flown from SE Asia to Europe, to the Middle East. Everywhere I work, I have a Leatherman, a knife, and my own trauma kit including injectable painkillers, intravenous fluids, needles, etc. I've taken all this stuff with me in my hold luggage on both commercial and chartered flights numerous times.

At no point would I have this stuff in my pockets or in my hand carry when I'm going through an airport. I'm literally just away to leave in a vehicle now and head to an area with active fighting. I have all of this stuff packed on me. How did it get here? Magic?

& do you wear helmet/bullet proof jacket @ the airports too ..............

Parle vu France !. ;)

Been carrying for almost 40 years.  Just qualified with my aging eyes per the Federal law I carry under and I think I missed three times after 90 shots. It's a new gun and I'm not thrilled with the trigger. I have to get use to it. Wish I had the vision I had in my younger days. My son in the Army Airborne has 20/15 vision. He can see a flea on a dog at 100 yards.

Yes they are doing jumps. My son has jumped out of prop planes, jets and helicopters. Jumped out of a plane in the middle of winter at night in northern Alaska. He needs to jump to keep his qualifications. They are in the process of changing the names from Airborne to Air Assault but it hasn't hit their unit yet.

It's always good to have even a basic one. I used mine a few months ago on a couple. I gave morphine to the woman and got her to a hospital but her husband was dead instantly. A few weeks after that I drove past an RTA involving a truck but all four were dead.

Next time lower the dose.

It's actually gone down here in California and it's readily available. Problem is now you have to submit a DROS every time you purchase ammo almost the same as buying a firearm. They're tracking your every move with the hopes in the future of creating a national register

Just the classic SD Swiss army knife.....not much of weapon, but it is useful at times. The tweezers don't work worth shit. The scissors a good for a quick touch up trim of nose and ear hair. Not sure whose nails the nail file would work on. The knife itself doesn't seem like it could cause much damage. And yet, can't take it through airport security or into a courthouse.

Mods, may I respectfully draw your attention to the fact that this dumbass has violated a jus cogens law of our esteemed bodybuilding community through his recent outburst. Namely, one cannot call another member a 'pedo' either directly or through insinuation.

He has sullied this great thread and distracted us all from the discussion at hand through this libellous and unpardonable accusation. It is imperative that you remain committed to your mandate and unyielding in your quest to pursue justice where it can be found. I therefore ask of you to permanently ban Iron Cross from this fine forum immediately.

No one gives a shit about your stupid Covid tests or the fact that you're flying back to Thailand on your 'special' sex tourist visa so you can hang out in some rancid Bangkok sex dungeon with all the other actual pedos. You'd be better off taking an AIDS test and then immediately killing yourself when it inevitably comes back positive.

No one would need a knife to deal with some emaciated skater retard who lives off roadkill and coconuts. If I ever met you at an airport I'd beat you half to death with your own hand before drowning you in a public toilet.

This is 1 very pissed PEEEEEDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !. ;D ;D ;D

Plus in your country you could be arrested for leaving your house with a butterknife so....
Don't worry though, most of the time I carry two knives, one to make up for the lack of testosterone of those that are scared to carry one. :D

BTW, I have that Opinel.

Is the folding mechanism sturdy on these? Thought I might pick one up. I've bought all the cheap Morakniv models...they are such a bargain I can't pass them up. I have them stashed everywhere. Haha.

It's reasonable, I wouldn't worry about it breaking under normal use. The only problem you can have with them is handle swelling in humid areas sometimes.

There's also the Antonini Old Bear line, about the same cost, similar lock, but some like the extra tab on these -

The real question is:

What is Chaos scared of?

Does he have enemies? Does he live in a bad neighborhood?

I will agree that a knife is certainly better than nothing. However, under what circumstances would a knife be better than a firearm?

You can't carry in Cali? Chaos is a decent sized fella. Bhank, would call him obese. But it's either fists or guns in most situations, between derelicts.

In rare cases, between derelicts and normal human beings.

Iron Cross absolutely melting, hahaha.

My girlfriend is just a smidge over 4'10". Sometimes I look at photos of us and it gives me panic attacks. Am I dating an actual disabled person? Is she a legal midget?

Just the classic SD Swiss army knife.....not much of weapon, but it is useful at times. The tweezers don't work worth shit. The scissors a good for a quick touch up trim of nose and ear hair. Not sure whose nails the nail file would work on. The knife itself doesn't seem like it could cause much damage. And yet, can't take it through airport security or into a courthouse.

Funny enough I enjoy carrying the standard K-Bar. Although I have an old Gerber double edge boot knife that is easily concealable. I have several folders in various shapes and sizes that I've been cycling through my pockets. Today was my WE Kitefin and the Ferrum Forge/Massdrop collab. :D

Funny because I'm the opposite.  After buying the Spyderco Military many years ago, I can't stand any non-Spyderco folders.

I agree. Like I said, the scissors work in a pinch if you need to touch up stray nose or ear hair....probably not a problem for you. The fingernail file doesn't file mine adequately. The tip will clean them though. The tweezers are crap. The knife is too small and too dull to do any real damage. I miss the plastic tooth pick that it used to have.

Another favorite pocket knife of mine is the Victorinox One-Hand Trekker.  You can open the knife blade with one hand, hence the name.  I have the non-serrated version which for some reason has gotten hard to find.

Different than my military style Spyderco knives, this is more of a multi purpose tool for camping and such.  I love it.

You have a point, a knife as self defense weapon is really dumb bc it’s considered a “lethal weapon”.  Might as well carry a gun.

Anything but a Swiss Army knife or utility knife is pointless

I think it was an old Spyderco I had when the lock failed as I was preparing things to blow up, once. I threw it in with the rest of the stuff and blew it to hell.

I've actually got an old USMC KA-Bar at home, along with an engraved Fairburn-Sykes dagger, but neither would really be practical to walk around with. The dagger would be pretty cool, actually. Maybe I'll fly to Thailand and slash open DooM's stupid little fanny pack, then kick his inhaler, antiretrovirals, and photograph of his husband down the streets of Pattaya, lol.

Sit down for this, DooM. Allow me to lend you some perspective. These are just a few samples of the sort of crap I constantly get from women. Now ask yourself if I'm likely to be wounded by the words of a fat toad who admits he travels to Thailand to pay for sex with male prostitutes, hahaha. I have the exact OPPOSITE problem to you.  :D

I could literally walk into your mum's house and have wild, passionate, pornographic, unprotected sex with her, without even having to utter a word. And I would. Even though she's undoubtedly an absolute spastic, I would... just to annoy you. I want you to think about that tonight as you're contemplating suicide. Imagine her throwing her head back and howling like the beast that she is as she wishes I get her pregnant so that she might finally have a son she can be proud of.
