Because liberals are emotional beings primarily and exist on race and gender issues.

They were afraid having two old rich white guys would alienate their suckered groups likes minorities gays etc.

They think this is a good thing, it's not.

Choosing people based off the gender and skin color instead of abilities is terrible for everyone.

It's going to backfire and they will still blame white people for everything stupid she does.

We are going backwards as a society, things are more segregated today than they have been since the Civil Rights movement.

We are going right back where we were.

She has a lot of conservatives leanings but you aren't getting anywhere in Hawaii unless you are a Democrat. They control everything. But now that she has made a name for herself she has a bit of clout and power and might be able to shift things. She is extremely popular in Hawaii and the average voted doesn't care too much about Democrats or Republicans.
