But what about the doc being mentioned? I mean isn't it atleast interesting....

These guys would prefer to write gay porn to each other than discuss actual training and injury recovery.

I've forgotten more about rehab than you will EVER know.

See that is what I am talking about I want like an extra tendon or two put in there from a godamn silverback gorilla preferably. I am just going to throw money at the Dr and tell him to go all out and double up the tendons.

Very cool. He does mention in the video that he does this for bodybuilders who plan to do heavy benching. He's attaching an Achilles tendon from a cadaver?

Wouldn't a thickass Achilles tendon massively increase the strength potential?

No, but could prevent a torn tendon.

Correct but I need to be able to do 6 weeks in a sling so will go see the guy this summer after my move as I need my arm to move but will see what he says this summer. I watched his video on YouTube of him repairing a 14 year old tear so maybe he can help. I mean I am doing ok I have good strength but it could be better .

Waiting til the summer is a bad idea. Do it ASAP then you can be healed for the summer and the move. Better yet hire some movers.

When I ripped my bicep off the orthopedic surgeon said he wanted to do the operation in under 5 days of the injury. He said the greatest success is to have it done quickly. That way the tendon doesn't start dying and the anchor point where it was ripped off is fresh. He sewed it to two metal anchors that held it to where it was ripped off. I think it reattached in the months following the operation. Long rehab. It took 6 months to regain the strength in the arm. My biceps were completely detached and my biceps rolled up to my delt. He told me if I waited the only way he could fix it would be with using a cadaver tendon and the success odds would be low and it wouldn't be for athletic function but for every day use. My bicep doesn't look the same but close. I can do a full bicep workout with it as well as deadlift with the repaired arm.

I tore the pec the first time 20 years ago I don't think another 2-3 months is going to make a difference

I'm guessing less than 5% tear pecs.  What percentage do you think snort coke, beat women and flee the scene?

The percentage who are doing all 3 together? I’m sure it’s also less than 5%, outside of Jon Jones and Phil Baroni no one immediately comes to mind.

So we agree a pec tear is a fairly uncommon injury for these athletes; but Hankins has found the doctor who specializes in treating fighters with this injury but didn’t work on Jon Jones.

Thanks Abe!

He fixed Thors Pec tear has a youtube video with Thor talking about it seems to me that is a pretty good reference. I never said he specialized in treating anyone but yeah when you look at his social media it shows some UFC fighters he may have treated them for something else. He is a regular ortho he treats lots of things and does stem cell stuff. I didn't look up all their injuries and cross reference with his client list. But he does say he specializes in Pec tears and repairing old ones and shows videos of 10-15 year old tears on 30 some year old patients being repaired. Can he help a guy who is 47 with a 20 year old tear that has retorn twice and is now chronic? Every orthopedic I have seen says I have good strength and to leave it alone and that there is nothing they can do for me. So I don't know if he can or will help but I would like to find out.
