Jose Canseco Calls Frank Trigg, Trigg Says No
« on: May 21, 2009, 04:41:46 PM »
According to a report from MMAJunkie.com that talks about today's episode of TAGG Radio, Jose Canseco apparently "called around" asking for some help training for his bout against Hong Man Choi:

Veteran fighter Frank Trigg turned down 1988 MLB MVP Jose Canseco's request to train together for the former major leaguer's upcoming MMA debut....

On today's edition of MMAjunkie.com Radio, co-host Trigg said he "called around" and was disappointed to learn Canseco had apparently done little in the way of preparing for his May 26 DREAM.9 bout with 7-foot-2 kickboxer Hong Man Choi.

Canseco has been confirmed for DREAM's May 26th event that includes a "Super Hulk" tournament in which Canseco is to participate in. He is trying to seek some sort of training in order to be ready for this matchup, but it's a tad late to receive any real training in order to beat a giant like Choi.

It's interesting that nobody really wants to reach out to him. From what it sounds like, all the talk that Canseco had all sorts of ridiculous credentials backing his martial arts experience aren't a reality. He surely is waiting a very long time to finally get in the gym and actually train in MMA. Looks like the slaughter may really happen.
