Jack straw comments on ukip
« on: October 11, 2014, 02:25:14 AM »
I normally wouldn't pay attention to the snivelling twat. But labour seem to have fielded him after they won a tory seat and nearly took a labour safe seat. His comment on them? 'They are a protest vote'

So basically labour can't see that they don't have any relevant policies for the country's problems and instead dismiss arrogantly the action of deserting them as a protest vote... that is basically a high handed insult to disgruntled voters. Ukip need to put together a more vocal policy package. Labour have to announce a large scale social housing building program.

the established parties have had it their own way for too long

they don't lesten to the people that vote them in

they get big pay rises when others are told their wages are freezing

they complain that they cant live on 80k a year

they are going to get a bloody nose at the general election

only problem is we will end up with ed the duck miliband as prime minister

as it is the tories that will be decimated by ukip

If the govt built 1 or 1.5m houses and sold most of them off for a profit at affordable prices having aquired the land cheaply before re zoning it and keeping maybe 30% as council housing Imagine what difference that wd make to jobs, apprenticeships,  economy, cost of living etc. None of the three parties have any idea about how to solve the housing problem.

That may not happen if the Tories firm up on a few policies.

The big by election news isn't the Tory loss but that Labour scraped through in the second by election by the skin of their teeth.

If roles were reversed I think Milliband would get in bed with UKIP but I suspect the Tories are more rigid in their views and won't.  Labour are all about political expediency (champagne socialists who have never worked a proper job - I don't like his politics but I respect a guy like Alan Johnson who worked as a postie) even more than the Tories.

What's going to happen I fear is that Labour squeak it, we get 5 years of their usual economic disaster and at the same time the rest of politics, bar Red Ed and his Union paymasters, will shift more and more to the Right.

And polarised adversarial politics is a shitting disaster for the country.  I love the UK but I fear we're going to really fuck ourselves up.

Ed Balls back in charge of the coffers.  Those who vote for that really don't get the way the world works.

Not sure if you are saying this but I think we need the bubble to burst, interest rates to rise, and savers to be rewarded.

My point is there is a fear that the spin off

From the housing bubble bursting

Is another recession

Before the economy resets
