Vegas is done for this year, after blocking efforts last year to have the event. Loss of business and revenue for Vegas, but a gain for Florida.
"The fitness industry’s most prestigious event has announced a return to Orlando, Florida for 2021 the weekend of October 7-10."
The fitness industry’s most prestigious event has announced a return to Orlando, Florida for its 2021 world championship weekend. After overcoming significant challenges in 2020, organizers of Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend have begun planning for a return to Central Florida here in 2021, the weekend of October 7-10.
President & Chief Olympia Officer Dan Solomon shares, “Our team has been busy evaluating options for this year’s event and we’re excited to announce that Orlando has been selected as the host location. The entire city welcomed our fans and athletes with open arms last year and our sights are now set on taking things to a whole new level this year.” The Orange County Convention Center will once again host the Olympia’s main events, including the 57th edition of the Mr. Olympia competition along with the new Olympia World Fitness Festival, formally known as the Olympia Expo. The Hyatt Regency Orlando (connected to the convention center) will serve as the official host hotel.
IFBB Professional League President Jim Manion adds, “The best athletes in the world dream of reaching the Olympia stage. After seeing what the Olympia team accomplished in 2020, I’m already looking forward to seeing all of you this October in Orlando.”
For the first time in its history, Olympia Weekend will include 11 IFBB Professional League divisions, highlighted by Big Ramy’s first attempt to defend his Mr. Olympia title and the arrival of the Wellness Olympia. The event also features the return of the Amateur Olympia, a pro qualifier open to ALL NPC athletes (registration opens soon). Olympia owner Jake Wood explains, “It was a proud moment for all of us watching the industry come together in 2020 for an Olympia Weekend we won’t soon forget. But that was just the beginning. Our team is already working to raise the bar even higher this October. You’re not gonna want to miss what we’ve got planned.”

The Mr. O has a new home. I hope it stays in Florida permanently. With the prices of the tickets, it would take me a year to save the money to go.

:)
-
RON, Is there a limitation on the number of spectators allowed in each event (prejudings, finals, etc.)??
-
It appears they've conned the other Olympia divisions (especially the Open) to subsidize the Ms. Olympia again.
-
This is insane. Why bother this year with it. I can’t see it being successful.

The Olympia looked successful to me just a couple of months ago.

With no Arnold, limited travel still, and likely other shows cancelled or postponed that seems stupid to have it that early. Keep it in December to give the competitors more time to qualify, come off for a bit, and then prep for the big one. This will likely be the worst O ever. So far only Ramy, Dex (retired), Phil (should retire), and Flex would be able to enter....let me know if I missed anyone?

Brandon Curry, Roelly Winklaar, Willian Bonac, Hunter Labrada, Akim Williams.....perhaps they'll let former Mr. O, Shawn Rhoden compete again.
Why not just move the Arnold to Jacksonville or Tampa? Or, maybe South Carolina can host a few pro shows. They did hold the Team Universe in Columbia, I think.

I didn't think of them, and you have a good point about moving to Arnold to FL, but the scheduling at this point and logistics involved would be impossible. My main point was that these guys need to come off for 12 weeks and take a break (we know many don't). The Arnold is the biggest contributor of points, so guys will have to be competing non-stop to qualify. We're 1 day away from March, so that's 6 months to do a few shows to get points to qualify, and then get ready for the biggest show they will ever be in. Seems like a stupid plan for the show, and the competitors health IMO.

LOL! Do you have any fear that all of the new york and cali dickheads will take their democratic votes to San Antonio, and FL and turn them blue? I'm in the midwest so I have no skin in the game so tp speak (but it will affect me), but these dipshits are going there because there is no lockdowns mainly and partially bcuz of taxes. They are going to bring their stupid ass Demo votes with them IMO. I'll laugh when I see how that goes in TX when they try ;D take their guns away. The Alamo will be nothing compared to what will go down in that state in the future.
-
They will come but we will gentrify them
Segregation into ghettos
Miami will be blue
Rest of state red
Texas is huge
Cheap homes , dirt cheap
Maybe a tornado will fix it for the Texans
No way the blue haired cell phone staring freaks would last one day without electricity

My advice to you and both states is keep buying all the guns and ammo you can afford/find and use them when it becomes totally clear that it is necessary.

Very detailed!
Bold call for Hadi there - maybe you know something I don't ;) And as much as I am a Winklaar fan, I think that 7th's realistic based on the way he's looked the last few months - not sure it's possible to take a 'break' at that level, but it's he's beginning to look a bit tired or something in some of the shots I've seen :-\
It's also going to be interesting to see how Walker does - some people are already anointing him as the next Great White Hope...
-
We'll know soon.
-
I dont really care unless they give it to that abomination Nick Walker............ if they do, I`ll truly know this sport is fucked.

I just know what looks good versus what looks bad, and Walker looks like a bag of smashed assholes.
I like Ramy,Bonac,Roelly,Curry, and Labrada,so I`m not against modern bodybuilding completely only when a bag of shit gets admired.
I`d rather have Bumstead as Mr. Olympia though to be quite honest.

1. Ramy
2. Curry - Choopan could wind up here, but I do wonder if they'll let two Muslims take first and second respectively.
3. Choopan
4. Bonac
Places 5-7 is a toss up between those 3, I could see Walker maybe going as high as 4th if he has a great day, but realistically, I see 5 -7 for him.

7. Roelly Winklaar
8. James Hollingshead

Honestly Walker has better condition and balance than Rammy or Choopan. They both have big quads that don't match their calves and Hadi has shit square oil shoulders and Rammi is soft in the midsection. Walker just looks freakier and tighter than them better midsection better arms better leg detail. Bonac and Curry don't have the freak legs to compete.

Hadi and Bonac have the best sharp look to the muscle, the way the skin sits on the muscle. If Hadi really nails it he looks the hardest in my opinion.

However , I would have loved to see either Breon or Timns beating C. Bumstead ...... but that'd be the surprise of the entire weekend .
As well as Keone Person in the 212 , great built but I doubt his condition will land him the 1st spot .

Again, wellness is simply bikini girls with bigger (much bigger, in some cases) legs and butts.
Bikini from the waist up; female bodybuilder from the waist down. Their hips are as wide as or sometimes wider than their shoulders.

Interesting - and I'd pretty much agree with that at this point as my pick - but - although I'm not a fan, I'm wondering if Walker might end up a little higher in a bit of a shocker? So as outrageous as it might be, maybe..?

Was that earlier tonight? If so, I like Curry's chances.
-
Ramy not as sharp as last year. Hadi and Curry top 3. Walker in the top 4. Of course things might change tomorrow.
-
Tomorrow night should be really interesting. I think Ramy was over trained. Have a hunch he comes back tomorrow night looking like the clear winner. Just a hunch. Nick's in great shape but his torso gets exposed against these guys. I think Brandon looks better than last year unless it's just a case of Ramy not being as good. It feels to me like Hadi could be getting fucked yet again. Hunter's X frame is incredible. William seems to have never regained the size he had and it hurts him. I think he and Walker could be fighting for 5th and 6th. Tomorrow night could really see some placings from tonight changed.

If indeed that's the case, I see him and Curry duking it out for all the marbles. Ellsbiay has to be on the money. Almost every time he's off (even slightly), he loses to a smaller guy. Even at 316 lbs, he couldn't quite topple Phil Heath.
:D No way would they ever let him win again regardless of what he looked like.
I thought he was making his big comeback with his new girlfriend (who apparently ain't his girlfriend any more; they were supposed to be training together for the O).
Is Rhoden barred for life? I figured since Schiek is putting him back in its weight belt ads, his legal problems were behind him.

My top 5:
1. Curry
2. Choopan
3. Ellsbiay
4. Bonac
5. Labrada
-
Nobody has said too much about Roelly. 1st of all, I didn't even think he was qualified. Secondly, to me he's the surprise of the show. He looks surprisingly pretty good.
-
Was that earlier tonight? If so, I like Curry's chances.
Sorry, had to sleep! It was like 4.00 am here (UK lightweight)
Yes, that was a screenshot of the first call out once they'd swapped them around a few times. I wanted to see what Curry looked like next to Ramy
-

Well although it's probably worth nothing, Ramy was the clear fan favourite again - and I'd be ok with him taking it. Hadi is clearly in the best condition of them all so let's hope that's rewarded (naive much? ;D)
I still feel Walker is the wild card here - I wonder if we're going to see a shock high placement (might have said that already)
-
Brandon looks really good.
-
-
My top three so far - 1) Curry, 2) Choopan, 3) Ramy .
Curry looks great, I like Choopan, but I can't move him any higher than 2nd, the shoulders are too distracting. 3) Ramy is a high placer, but looks ho-hum this year, but he'll probably fix it up tonight.
Walker having a good day.
-
No one is giving Walker a chance but from the only picture I have seen I think he wins. I would like to see more angles and comparisons. The one picture I guess taken at the pre judging has him winning. He is harder and less soft bloat looking than the rest.
-
There is NO star power in this show.
Sad to say, but Kai probably could have competed and won and Phil would have cracked the top 5.
-
Horrible show.
Worst Olympia I have ever seen.
Hunter looks like shit, don't understand the callouts.
Shawn Ray annoying as fuck the whole prejudging, talking about himself most of the time as usual.
-
It was disappointing they did Rammy and Brandon without Nick and Choopan getting a look against them
-
Note: First prize was a fake jeweled Imperial Margarine crown. During the Arnold years Joe upped the winner to a $1,000 check.

Just that screen shot from the video still alone shows how awesome Jay was back then. You knew he would win the big one eventually.

-
Haddi shoulders look horrible
Yeah, just so pointy - he's still probably the competitor in the best condition though, do you think?
-
Hunter looked completely gassed after those 6 poses LOL
Puffing and panting and streaming with sweat
-
Bonac or Walker should place 4th, I think I'd go Walker. Labrada shouldn't be 4th, maybe sixth or so.
Still Curry, Hadi, Rami - 1, 2, 3.
-
I can't believe they are putting Hunter above Walker his midsection is not crisp and he is holding water
-
Still a subjective sport. I miss the days were there was an indisputable winner.
-
Right now, I can only find the Olympia with Arabic commentators. The Classic guys are on stage now.
-
Calling it for Bumstead - threepeat

8)
(Although it's hardly difficult picking the favourite ;D)
-
Calling it for Bumstead - threepeat
It's official. Bumstead wins it again.
-
What a speech from Bumstead
-
So Walker has held his condition, Bonac has maybe dried out a little..?
-
Just got through Hadi Choopan and Hunter Labrada.
-
Yeah, and Hunter's condition has definitely improved
(And that lump of oil in his pec had dissipated a bit too)
I'm looking at my top 6 again now...🤔
-
Brandon Curry looks great. I believe Lee Haney is on commentary with Shawn Ray.
From what I saw in the comparisons earlier, Elssbiay is a bit off. Unfortunately for me, the Arabic commentary is back on.
Is he posing to "I Believe I Can Fly"?
-
So is that good enough from Ramy? He was on the edge of cramping... Or do we think Choopan is in with a shout after all?
I had said:
Ramy
Hadi
Walker
Curry
Bonac
Hunter
Maybe now:
Hadi
Ramy
Curry
Hunter
Walker
Bonac
-

Ellsbiay
Boca
Labrada
Walker

Yes, and you're not missing much with the commentary LOL
Where are Vince McMahon, Tom Platz, and Bobby Heenan when you need them?

Walker in 5th

They're only doing top 5
-
Let's call for Ramy

Let's call for Ramy
Labrada gets 4th and Choopan gets 3rd
-
Let's call for Ramy
8)
-
Not much to get annoyed about except Labrada's gift decision .
-
Elssbiay wins it. I had him in third.
I could see him winning it last near, not this year. Curry looked better to me.
Whoever is broadcasting this feed keeps talking over it.
-

Yeah, I kind of agree - I'd have maybe swapped Choopan for Curry. Happy with Ramy taking it again. I actually thought Hunter was pretty good - put it this way, I'm glad he beat out Walker
Wonder if Bonac got 6th - let's see the scorecard to see the rest of the fallout
-

If you could have heard the feed, Haney and Ray kept saying you've got the knock the champ out. With Choopan's condition, and him picking up the audience favourite award (like Ramy last year) I thought he had a shot - shows what I know LOL
-

I had him second. To me, his body is in better proportion and better condition than that of Ramy. That's why I picked him second. I put Curry first because he fits right in between the two. HIs proportions are almost as good as Choopan but he's bigger. And Curry certainly has better proportions that Ramy, despite giving up size.
Again, had Ramy been as ripped as last year, I could swallow his win. Not this time.
-
I like Choopan, but I just can't get around the shoulders. Unless he can fix that, he'll always be a top 3 and not a winner.
I really liked Brandon, I wanted him to win, but whatever. Seeing all three on stage together, made me more comfortable with it being a toss up.
Just not liking the Labrada decision. I don't even like Walker's Physique, but the weird pec oil/homunculus/wtfthatwas, plus the water carrying just made me shake my head. I see him in 6th or so.

It's always difficult to knock off the current champ. Unless a challenger is way better than the current champ they lose. It shouldn't be that way, but it has been for decades.

If Bumstead had better biceps his physique would be modern version of Bob Paris.

What was CBum's Olympia cash award this year?
Chris has an estimated net worth of $777,000 as of 2021 according to some Net Worth website.
