It's true that Posing was much more important in the 60's and 70's than it is today. For some reason most of the pro's can't pose worth a damn. They just stop around on stage and flex. Bodybuilding competitions should be more than that,It should include posing as well. Being a good poser turns Bodybuilding from a past-time to an art. The only thing that would even make bodybuilding fit the definition of "Sport" would be the posing competitions between the two competitors,Where "posing" is the physical competition.
Arnold Wrote a flex article about this about a year ago and made several good points concerning the challenge round(Which the competitors and judges seem to of completly ditched).
Why don't modern bodybuilders put more emphasis on the artform of posing? Bodybuilding would be much more appealing to the masses if the Pro's were graceful and artful in their posing routines rather than clumbsy and disoriented.
"Posing" itself should be in the training routine of bodybuilders alot more. Did you know that some pro's don't even practice posing? They should spend atleast a few hours aweek just posing in front of a mirror and working on artful routines.
