Anyone else confused??

The fight between Thor and Eddie Hall, I thought the whole point of the fight was to see two huge strongman fight,  watching these guys training both are getting significantly smaller. Why are they doing this shit, how is this a draw, 2 slimmed down strongman?? The fuck?

I agree. They are not fighters. Who cares? When I was training at a hard core gym a year ago or so they had a heavy bag hanging. The owner was into martial arts and he taught in a separate building near the gym but kept a heavy bag hanging in the weight gym. With much amusement I use to watch the power lifters hit the bag.  Zero power and so awkward. They would be killed in a fight. They threw arm punches without punching with their whole body. I didn't count one 400lbs plus bench press guy that could hit harder than a girl who boxed. Not saying they don't exist but in this gym they didn't. Power is a separate entity from pure strength.  I doubt Mayweather could bench 225lbs but he sure as hell could punch harder than bodybuilders when he was in his prime.

What is with that youtube guy who was a college wrestler challenging a MMA guy to boxing match? If he had true balls he would have an mma match with him. Two parts to a fight. Striking and ground game.

It also gives them an 'out' explaining why they've dropped the size - it's not that they were worried about dropping dead or anything, it's that they were getting into shape for the fight...  ;)

They ruined this spectacle by scheduling it way out in the future.
