Russia only gives a shite about the coastal areas, this whole war is about the gas deposits off the coast, they have the potential to undermine Putins gas monopoly, whilst Yanukovych was in power they would never be industrialised, but after the west overthrew him and put their own puppet in Zelensky, the potential for this to happen increased, it still could have been avoided if they guaranteed no NATO missile systems in the country. But this whole war is about who gets to exploit Ukraine, the west or Russia, no one gives two shites about the actual people, Putin just more obviously than the western puppet Zelensky, just a shame for the average Ukrainian who sits outside of the political class, they have nothing to gain and will die for a cause where others will ultimately benefit.
